Well i dont know why people think AMba's track in unecessary just becuase it wasnt shown in great detail in original Mahabharat doenst mean it wanst importanat.I am gladthey are showing Amba's story in great detail becuase it will led to war between bheeshn amd pashuram which was actually the first war in kurukeshtra this wnast shown in earlier Mahabharat

So Shikhandi became a boy and returned to Panchala to prove to King Hiranyavarna that his SIL really was a male. Pacified, King Hiranyavarna returned to his kingdom without waging any war.

Meanwhile, the God Kubera was enraged with the Yaksha for going against nature and exchanging his gender with Shikhandi, so he cursed him that he would remain female until Shikhandi's death. So Shikhandi remained a male for the rest of her life.

Shikhandi finally got her revenge during the battle at Kurukshetra. She became the charioteer of Arjuna during his battle with Bhishma, and when Bhishma saw Shikhandi in front of him, he lowered his weapons since he had vowed never to fight with a woman. Although Shikhandi was a man at that time, she had been born a woman so Bhishma refused to fight with here. Arjuna then pierced him with his arrows and Bhishma was defeated (though he did not die until the end of war, as per his wish). Thereby, Amba aka Shikhandi's revenge was complete, and Shikhandi herself was killed in war not long after Bhishma.

hang on. How exactly did he prove to Hiranyavarna that he was male? Please don't tell me that... um...

yes actually. I was hoping, finally they will show Vyasa and side by side a flashback of how he was born, but nothing of the sort happened! Why Mahabharat Why? WHy are you becoming like DKDM in matters of content? Like it, you are excellent, but in the details section I would give 6/10!

I would agree that the show is missing out many important details. I would not know much if i had not been watching the tamil version of Mahabharat currently going on Sun TV.

Ganga story was not shown on why she left King Shantanu and it was Satyavati's father who asked for Satyavati to be the queen. Chitrngada was not shown. Even the story of Vyasa seems to be missing here. From what i watched in the tamil version, Satyavati had even asked Bheehma to break his vow to get married and be the king but he said he would rather die than breaking his promise. Luckily i been watching the tamil version or i would be clueless or not know much on what's happening 😕

Aah this 6 page long discussion itself is telling the flaws of New mahabharat... you guys said it all... here story has taken a back-seat.

So far the story has been moving in spurts and jerks instead of flowing smoothly...too many unanswered questions remain. Hope it improves...

what if they cut out all of Krishna's Baal Leela

In the old MB that I have watched numerous times growing up and is now available on YT, they keep reiterating that Lord Krishna is the story's MAHANAYAK and so they ahev to show his Baal Leela

Here, he si the sutradhar so will he say; it was time for me to be born??

If they miss out on the Baal Leela and the kans vadh and his gurukul and bringing back his guru's son as Gurudakshina; I will be mighty pissed

That is where I applaud Ekta. She may have messed around with costumes BUT her sequences were bang on. She showed all of Baal Leela and her MB ended when Radha entered.

If her MB had been on a different channel; it would have worked

Ya even i feel its rushed but considering the lengthiness of the epic we can't complaint as if they go for a normal pace it would take many a years to show the full epic..Hope they don't miss out important facts like krishna's story...
