BRC MB actors were young but it is due to voice modulation and body language that they looked older. The kind of built people had earlier and kind of look given to them by makers of shows and movies would make them look mature. Like Madhuri is supposed to have been 19 when she did Abodh but in the film she does not look 19 at all.
There were no gym bodies earlier. Just basic fitness.

Arjun, Nakul and Sahadev looked like they were in their 20s, Draupadi was only 20 which surprised me she played that role with such maturity, Karna must have been 30, Krishna was one of the youngest
admittedly the mustaches that were back then fashionable added on on some years to the actors

Yep that's true.
Mukesh Khanna ji's voice modulation was perfect to such an extent that nobody could believe he's only 27. And the pain in his voice..I've no words to describe!

I can't judge the difficulty people might have faced to accept him as Shaktimaan because I'm among those who have witnessed Shaktimaan before Bheeshm. 😛

Especially the scenes between vidur n gandhari,

Bheeshma n vidur, Bheeshma , vidur dronacharya..

scenes between dhritarshtra n bheeshma n vidur..

It had depth in them..

Also the scenes of Bheeshm-Ganga..especially the one on Kurukshetra day 9. That's so touching..!

mk is youngest nd best Bhishm..no one iz a bit close. he was only 27 I knew, bt maturity does nt depend on age u know. His voice is simply d best in film nd tv industry.

Abt physique of our actors, their physique was good as per dat era. nd six pack abs dont matter much, neither ridiculous show off of body gives u certificate of good acting.

Correct! And if that was the case, body builders would have won Oscar awards in acting.

Btw..Dhritarashtra, Pandu and Vidura were much elder than Bheeshma, I mean the actors. But the age difference was invisible due to their performances.

in our youth-obsessed culture, looks, glamour etc. dictate almost everything as much as people like to deny otherwise, the bottom line is that indeed this is the case
br chopras cast was based on their capability as actors above everything else, what was interesting was seeing auditions in the behind the scenes, the serial was character focused, initially famous names were considered for the role, likes of juhi chawla and jackie shroff (apparently famous back then in their time) and thankfully they decided against this
unfortunately auditioning for roles is becoming more and more obsolete as producers opt for factors mentioned above and celebrity fame, our culture is so obsessed with the spectacle that true acting is becoming a lost art

Moustaches were a must in historicals and mythos earlier. Even beard was proper and not stylish stubble like serials now. The body language and mannerisms were framed according to past era, hence quite mature and restricted.
Mukesh ji IMO is like Amitabh Bachchan of TV. Amazing baritone and voice modulation. Such diverse characters he has played! 😊
I first watched him in Chandrakanta as Jaanbaaz, then Virat and Shaktimaan. I was too young when MB originally aired but watched its re runs on Sony and Zee. I admit I was not able to recognise Mukesh Khanna in MB till he spoke dialogue!

For me acting, voice, dialogue delivery, body language matter the most. Not glamour or looks.

The pronunciation of BRC MB actors was nonpareil (except Bhim whose struggle to get dialogues right was evident).

Nitish Bharadwaj still looks quite youthful and if you check posters of his films which he did when he had started out, he looked quite boyish in them. It is MB that gave him more nuanced and mature aura as Krishna the Supreme Guide.
