I think it was some very old family quarrel...Bhurisravas's father somadatta wanted to marry devaki (krishna's mother) but he was defeated in battle by vaasudeva's comrade Sini (who was satyaki's grandfather) ...and so could not get her hand in marriage..and satyaki

There are various tales abt it. The one's I found are:

1. The moon failed to pay due deference to the sage Garga, and sage cursed him to be born as a human being on the earth and Abhimanyu is this accursed moon god. He dies at the young age of sixteen because the sage, moved by the moon's begging for forgiveness, reduced the severity of the curse by saying that he would be killed in battle at the age of sixteen and could then go back to heaven.

2. Another version of this tale mentions Abhimanyu is the reincarnation of Varchas, the son of the moon god. When the moon god was asked to let his son incarnate himself on earth by the other devas, he made a pact that his son will only remain on earth for 16 years as he could not bear to be separated from him. Abhimanyu was 16 years old when he died in the war.

3. According to another tale Abhimanyu was actually a Rakshasa. His demonic qualities would emerge if he was able to survive the Kurukshetra war. Krishna knew this and so, when Abhimanyu was still inside Subhadra's womb and Arjuna was in the middle of explaining that how to break the the Chakra-vyuha, Krishna deliberately interrupted Arjuna and made him leave Subhadra's side. As a result, Abhimanyu learnt only how to break into the formation, not how to break out. Through this action, Krishna ensured his death in the war itself.

Dear u r right but ved vyas din't wrote mahabharat it was written by Lord Ganesha n Ved vyas only dictated it so a correction here 😊
