Chapter 8 Elevator band ho jaaye!
I can't believe he is standing in front of me right now. I looked at him completely stunned. He was staring back at me with equal shock. I noticed he looked different. His hair is all messed up, not at all gelled n groomed like I saw them last time. N his dark brown eyes r all red n puffy without the peculiar charming glint. He has grown a beard. That's new. I can't appreciate his sharp jawline behind that mess but I'm sure it's there. I looked down to find that his clothes r all disheveled. The top buttons of his shirt are undone n a well chiseled chest is peeking through it. I bet they lead to abs down there n wait, what is that reddish mark just above his collarbone. Is it a hick... Oh God! That's disgusting.
I turned away as my cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "What r u doing here?" I asked in an annoyed tone n looked back at him.
He took some time before answering me. "Not f**king u, of course!" He smirked.
My jaw dropped open at his reply.
"Hey did u f**k this chick too?" The girl behind him asked lazily. I had totally forgotten about her till then.
"She Wish!" He turned towards her rolling his eyes.
I could literally feel my blood boiling in my veins. "I would wish? Like that's ever gonna happen." I crossed my hands n looked behind him at the girl. Let me just burst his attitude bubble in front of his new ...whatever she is. "He approached me n I was the one to reject him! He thought he could woo me with his vapid flirting but I was too smart for my own good"
Rishabh gave me a bored expression n that infuriated me even more "Tell u what, do urself a favor n get away from this man. U can do much better than him".
Her eyes widens as she registers my warning. I really hope my advice gets in her head n she stops wasting her time on this loser. But surprisingly she reacted the other way. She laughed it out n got her hands wrapped around his neck clinging to him like she did before. "Well u wouldn't know how he is, as tonight he'll be sleeping with me not u. Jealous aren't you? Ur plan of getting me out of your way backfired right? Girl I had already fought with 15 girls in the club for him. N now he's all mine".
She giggled as he nuzzled behind her ear. "Forget her babe I wouldn't give her a second look when I have u with me tonight. Or actually," He paused n shifted a little to glance at me. "I would never give her a second look anyway".
My anger reached to it's highest peak. I wanted to punch him in the face and wipe off his stupid smirk. What does he think of himself? I pointed my finger as I began cursing him "Listen u pathetic, delusiona...ahh..." suddenly I was distracted by the strong smell coming from his mouth. "U stink!" I stepped back. "Oh r u, R U DRUNK?" Sure he was. I have never been this close to any drinks or drunks bt I was sure that the disgusting smell could be of nothing else but the alcohol. Oh, I felt like I couldn't breathe in there anymore.
He frowns seeing my repulsion n throws away the girl's hands off him. "Don't go all judgy on me again. I had a couple of shots but I'm not drunk"
I rolled my eyes n this angered him more. "Look, U maybe smart n have all that shit filled in ur head but that doesn't allow u to judge people all the time. U did this f**king shit with me both the times before n insulted me. I stayed quiet then, but I'm not going to take any crap from ur f**king mouth again!". He yelled glaring at me.
I should have given him a hard reply for talking to me this way. Or should have backed off seeing the magnitude of rage in his eyes. He looked dangerous. Hell he was dangerous! N he was dangerously close to me. Our bodies were still not touching but there was hardly any space left between us. His eyes held me captive n a shiver ran down my spine as I felt his breath on my lips. The air between us feels hot n as I take in the strong smell of liquor coming from his mouth, I find it sickening n at the same time... alluring! God I should just remind myself the little speech I made earlier about hormones going haywire n stuff. I should make an effort to back off. But my mind just got stuck to one thing. DID HE JUST SAY BOTH THE TIMES?
Our little moment was interrupted by the loud gargling sound from the third person present there. Damn! Why do I keep forgetting about her? She held her stomach n dropped on her knees ready to unload herself any minute.
"Shit! what is she doing!" I said clasping my hand to my mouth in horror, anticipating what was coming.
"She is going to barf it out all over, obviously" He snapped at me like I wouldn't know this.
Hell! this is literally a complete hell! "I know that genius. Help her out". I commanded.
N like the jerk he is, he threw his hands dismissively n moved away. "This is not what I bargained my night for. I'm not getting my hands dirty in that shit."
How rude was that! I gulped helplessly knowing well that its left to me to engage in this. I had no other choice "Ok I'll handle her but atleast press the alarm key. We have been stuck here for 15 mins n no help has arrived yet"
N he did that without arguing. I was holding that stranger girl who was getting more n more sick with every passing second. I just hope we r at least out of this small space before she... N to my relief, elevator started again n within seconds the door opened up. I quickly took her out n rushed her to the washroom in front. N we made it on the right time.
After what felt like hours she cleaned up herself with my aid n I supported her half conscious body as we walked out. Rishabh was standing in a corner, leaning on the wall with his eyes stuck on the phone in his hand. I should be pissed at him but honestly, I'm glad that he didn't left his...whatever to my responsibility n is still present here. "Here u go" I directed the girl to go n grab his collar. Jiska bojh voh hi sambhaale! "N now my job here is done. See u never again." I quickly turned to walk away as Rishabh caught the girl in one hand.
"Woah, woah, woah!" he held my hand to stop me. "U seriously r not leaving me with this, are u?"
"Her!" I corrected him. "N yes I m doing exactly that. U were the one who got her wasted, u were the one who brought her here for all the...wrong reasons n now u'll be the one to make sure she's safe n comforted"
He let go off my hand n cringed as his eyes shifted on the girl in his arms again. She was mumbling something n I bet she would be smelling all rotten. Serves him right! "Hey, I didn't get her this drunk, she was already wasted when I met her. N besides, u heard her earlier, she was the one who came on to me first. I was interested in the blonde one more." He said dreamily "l knew I shouldn't have picked her up"
I shot him a glaring look n he sighed. "Ok just tell me what should I do ?"
"Take her to ur room like u intended to. But let her rest until she wakes up" I said n he looked at me like I've suddenly grown up some horns or something.
"No, no, no". His eyes widened as he immediately dismissed my idea. "I don't do that. I don't have girls sleeping in my bed. I just entertain them till the actual business n that's it".
I stared at him in utter disbelief. Can this guy have any less decency?
He might have seen that displeased look on my face as he quikly thought of another idea "l'll do one thing, I'll ask my manager to get her a room in this f**king place n get her friends to know about her whereabouts. Yeah that's sounds right" He said n quickly called someone through his phone.
I'm not very impressed by his choice but still it's a good plan. At least he is making sure she ends up safe
We left her to her room n I must say, he made the best arrangements for the girl. Her friends will be reaching here soon n will take her.
"So? " Rishabh asked me once we submitted the room's key to the reception.
"So?" I questioned him back. "Any palns for tonight?" His eyes hinted mischief.
I rolled my eyes n began to walk towards the elevator. Can't believe just few mins before he was being so mean n rude n now he's back to his firty self. Sure he is still drunk!
He followed me, stepped inside n hit for the top floor. We were quiet fr a while "U r staying on the same floor?" He asked raising a brow.
"None of ur business" I answered with a straight face n pressed for the 4th floor. We indeed have the rooms on the same floor n I had panicked when he pressed that button. But I quickly composed myself n thought of misleading him. Couple of stairs won't kill me.
"Too bad. But I told u I usually like it at the top" He winked and I huffed with disgust.
"Come on don't be such a spoiled sport. After today's incident, u have to agree that we make a good team."
"What's ur problem?" I turned to talk to him n get this over with once n for all. "Why r u annoying me for no reason? U should be thanking me instead, for getting myself in that mess for u" I barked back. I was very tired n was in no mood to entertain his nonsense.
"I will" he smiled "Let me show u how thankful I am for ur favor." He leaned closer to me n I smacked his arm. "Kidding. Kidding" he laughed. "U r so fiesty n snappy. I like that". He remarked.
"N I don't like any of u" I retorted n got out of there as the doors opened. He said something in reply but I was already way far from him to catch it clearly. I handled 2 drunk people today n I can't imagine what the rest of my bday has in store for me. It is definitely going to be a long day!
