PART ONE
"She is my ex wife" he said flatly.
Akash dropped the folders he had in his hand, the pages spewed all over the floor and his mouth hung open. "Shit" he shrieked. "But all these years we are woOming you never told me that you were married" he almost shouted. "Like you are serious right?" he was still puzzled by this sudden truth.
"Yes, I am serious. It was brief, it lasted only six months" he said. "But what happened? Did she ditched you? Or was she with someone..." He stopped Akash "No, I left her" he answered in a louder tone. "But why? That is what I am asking" Akash was still curious. "Everything can't be told brother. SOMetimes things run out of your control and you have to do something to save others from being caught in the storm you are facing. Especially the once you love "he answered.
Reaching to the side desk he poured coffee from the machine for both of them. "So, how was she? I mean this girl" Akash asked still curious. "Madhu wasyoung beautiful and everything you could use to describe a perfect woman. Her shining hazel eyes could bring life to any sad and depressed soul. She didn't talked, she chirped and that too nonstop like birds with her sweet voice. And the only person who had the ability to defeat me when it comes to dancing" he smiled. "That is impossible. Defeat you in dancing. Man, you were the best dancer in your college right. I have seen the clips" Akash answered. "No, I was not. She was the only one who could defeat me. The only one who I loved to compete and get defeated frOM" he stared at the stars visible from his office.
"You loved her. Didn't you?" Akash asked smiling. "Yes I did. I loved her" he answered sipping the coffee. "And you love her even now" he turned to Akash. "Maybe" he shrugged. "So why didn't you ever find her? I mean look at you, you own the biggest security agency here. You have everything that a girl would need. You can easily keep her happy. Then why not?" Akash asked confused about his words.
"Money is not every thing. And it was not for her anyway. And yes I tried to find her but it was late. She was already engaged to Ajay" his voice dropped. "Ajay as in Ajay Tyagi?" Akash tried to confirm. "Yes, you know him?" he asked. "Not personally but I never got good vibes from him Akash "answered back. "Yes, Ajay Tyagi. And since she was happy I didn't tried to bardge into her life" he had a tight smile now.
"But she doesn't looks happy. I mean look at the picture, it seems as if someone has forced her to get it clicked" he passed the photo back to him. "And anyway it was the past. She needs help and we are the best. If you don't agree than I would send Rahul for this" Akash said as he chuckled. "Rahul, you will send a kiddo" he laughed. "He is not a kiddo. Besides he needs to learn about how to fight someone as Sultaan" as soon as they words came out of Akash's mouth he jumped from the chair he was sitting on "Sultaan... That don " he shouted. "Yes, she has to be saved from Sultaan. She is in his prison" Akash informed.
"Okay I will take this case. Besides I need all the information about this one and I mean everything. How are they linked, how did she went to him, how is she prisoned, where is she? Everything. I am giving you a day. Hurry" he said making Akash shocked once again. "Wait... A day... How on this earth will I do all of it in a single day? "he glared at him. "I don't know, just do it he took his coat and started off to his house.
He reached his house as he dumped his keys on the sofa and walked to his room. After showering he pulled his t shirt and pajamas on and sat on his study table with her file. It stated about her in the briefest form possible. Nothing was mentioned except her name, height, body description and that he needs to be saved from Sultaan.
He took her picture in his hands and stared at it for long. There was nothing in it that would match Madhu's charms. Her eyes had no light, lips were swollen and face had makeup dumped on it as if trying to hide something. Her smile had no warmth. There was no sign of his girl who he used to watch for hours. He took out his purse and matched both the pictures. There were no signs of both being the same.
He was still tying to think about what the hell happened in these years? What changed her so much? He left her so that she could be happy, but she was anything but happy.
He still remembers the day they met. The day he came across "Madubala Mallik" he swiped his finger under his nose in her style and chuckled.

"Yaar, come on move. Shivaani must be waiting" in the club Deepak pulled his hand trying to drag him. "Tujhe jaana hai toh jaa. But let me complete this first" he continued looking on his file. "Assignments come and go but if she went she would not come he shouted as everyone in the library turned towards him with a hush sound. "Okay okay "he raised his hands up in surrender. "Come on please... Please... You are my best friend... Please" he joined his hands requesting. "Okay" he closed his book with a thud voice. "Tell me where to go" he asked. "To the activity area" Deepak said as he raised a bow. "Why?" he asked. "Because all the students have gathered for the selection of the lead dancers of the college event and there is no good dancers" Deepak informed. "So" he asked. "So, come on give auditions. You are the best here. You know that right?" Deepak said as he sighed before Deepak dragged him to the hall.
The hall was filled with students of each section. As if the whole college had gathered to be the lead dancer. Every body got the chance to perform but non were able to match the expectations. "I think we have to cancel this guys. There are no lead dancers" the secretary of the department informed others. "Not before he performs " Deepak again brought him in front. "Oh, Mr Rishabh Kundra, how did we missed you" secretary got up and shook his hand with Rk's. "Yeah was only he said. "But we still need a female dancer who could match him" Rk chuckled. "Match me... Never" he laughed.
"Oh hello mister. Asmaan mein udne ka itna shaukh hai toh panchi banna tha, yahan kyun aaya (You wanted to fly then you would have been a bird, why did you come here?)" a female voice stopped his laughter as the whole auditorium tuned to the voice shocked. "Who are you miss? " the secretary asked a fuming lady. "Madhubala... Madhubala Mallik" she answered and shifted her gaze to him. "Toh kya keh rahe the aap. No one can match you right. Okay let's start... Dekhte hain who falls first" she challenged. "I don't accept challenge from unknown people" he rolled his eyes. "Abhi se dar gaye... Afraid of losing... Aww bechare" she smiled. "Accepted" was all he said and pulled her when the music started.
Every one was shocked. There was Rk on the ground and Madhu standing and laughing. He was just looking at her smiling at her laugh which shocked people more. Because defeat was not Rk's way. He stood up and wiped the dirt off his clothes. "Bola tha aasman mein udna nahi chahiye. Gir gaye naa (I told you not to fly, look you fell)" her laughter increased even more. He walked to her and placing a finger on her cheeks tucked her hair strand in the back of her ear "welcome to the town my dear dance partner" he felt her shivering after these words.
"Okay guys, so decided it's RK and Madhu" as the leads. Practice starts tomorrow, be ready the secretary informed and left with the assistants. Deepak hugged Shivaani and promised her to pick her up tomorrow. "Kal milte hain Ms hazel eyes " he smiled. "Get ready to fall once again Mr attitude" she stomped off as he bursted out laughing.

She walked into the house but before she could take another step some one grabbed her arm and pinned her to the wall "kahan gayi thi bina mujhse puche". His eyes were red, fuming with anger. "Ma... Mandir gaye the" she answered trying to breathe. "Kyun, bhagne ka plan hai tera. Ab tak mann nahi bhara. Itni baar toh koshish kar chuki ho (why, are you planning to run again? Don't you get satidfied, already you have tried a lot)" he bend himself more to her. "Hum... Hum bhaag nahi rahe the... Aapke guards ko saath leke gaye the (I was not running, I went with your guards)" she managed to speak this.
He left her as she took a deep breath. She looked at him when he started unbuckling his belt. She knew what was coming and now being long in his custody it didn't matter. "Get ready for your punishment" he wrapped the last side of the belt in his hands and threw the other on her body. She didn't shouted, nor did she uttered a single word just stood and let him do what he was doing. He did that until his own hands started paining. Then he went to her and took her dupatta off. He was almost to tear the other clothes when the phone rang "what?" he bared. "Okay... I am coming" he disconnected the call. "Abhi tumhari saza baaki hai (your punishment is still left) he said and left the house.
She picked her dupatta with trembling hands and wrapping it around her started walking to her room. She sat on the window panel and stared at the moon. Not even caring about putting anything on her new wounds and neither a single tear dropped from her eyes. Because each of it already dried long ago.

"Okay guys ready? the instructor said as all nodded their heads. "Queue music and start the song started as each couple drifted with the steps they were taught. Rk held Madhu's waist tightly knowing that it would irritate her. "Leave me she glared. "Nope he smirked. "Leave me she roared silently. "Not at all he swirled her as she landed with her back on his chest. He snaked her arms to her waist and they kept moving. "Loose the grip Mr attitude she said. "First tell me are you ready for the date I proposed to you? he asked. "Loose the grip he tightened it even more. Madhu looked to her right and left. "Loose the grip please she said softly. "First answer me he shrugged. "Okay she sighed as he smiled and the grip loosened.
It has been three weeks since they were with each other, though only practicing but he needed to make her realise about what he actually felt. He needed to tell her that something or some connection is there in between them, that actually has started affecting him. Something that makes him smile, something that has snatched his sleep, something that has hampered his life like hell. He needs to tell her that he is now addicted to a drug. Though, he didn't know what to call it but that something provided him with a certain fulfilment.
"Rk... Rk.. Deepak called as as he rushed to match his speed. "Haan bol, kyun chilla raha hai?( yeah speak, and why are you shouting) Rk asked frowning. "You love Madhu? Deepak asked. "I don't know Deepak, weather to call it love or not... But kuch toh hai he answered smiling. "Issi kuch ko pyaar bolte hain bewakoof ( this is what you call love idiot) Deepak slapped at the back of Rk's head. "Nahi yaar, pyaar bohot badla lafz hai. Aur waise bhi sirf I Love You bolne se pyaar Ho jaaye yeah bhi toh zaroori nahi hai naa (No, love is a big word, and only by saying I Love You it is not necessary that someone will fall in love) he looked at Deepak and then back to the road while still walking.
Deepak increased his speed a bit and stood in front of him "tu bas theory hi dena, agar galti se kisi nein practice de diya aur voh paas ho gaya toh yahin baithe... I mean chalte rehna sunsaan raahon mein (you only give theories. By mstake if someone passes the practicals than keep stting.. I mean walking like a hippie). Rk laughed. "Kya? Why are you laughing? he frowned. "Main koi theory nahi de raha (I amnot giving any theory) he said between her chuckles. "That can happen, I am serious he narrowed his eyes. "Okay I am serious he stopped and again started laughing. "I am serious Deepak said. "Okay ab ghar chalein(Okay should we move home?) he held Deepak by his shoulders as they walked to their hostel.
"You like Rk right? Shivaani asked Madhu while they were they were taking food from their canteen. "Who told you that? No, I do not like people with attitude she shifted her attention to food. "Okay then, leave him Shivaani shrugged. "No... I can't leave him she said hurriedly. "I... I mean we still have the practice pending... I can't leave him because we are the leads besides there is not much time left for the fest she again shifted her eyes to food. "So you mean you don't like him Shivaani said. "I didn't say that Madhu answered. "Jhoothi, you just said that Shivaani glared at her. "Khana khao (eat your food) Madhu rolled her eyes and went away.
"Suna? (YOU heard that) she said keeping her phone to her ears. "Haan sun liya (Yes, I did)Rk answered. "Kuch samajh mein aaya? (Got something?) she asked again. "Haan aa gaya (Yes, I did) he smiled. "Toh ab Mr Kundra, don't waste your time and go propose her she hung up.
"Good morning again buddy Akash entered his cabin. "Good morning to you too. Any information? he asked. "Yes, I have something that will help you a smile swept on hearing this on his face. "I knew you would do it he answered. "Now shoot he said as Akash took a deep breath, went to the jug, poured himself water and started drinking sip by sip. "Would you do this fast he punched the table top. "Haan, bata raha hoon. (Yes, I am telling) Patience my boy, patience he smirked.
He straightened his coat and sat on his chair with his legs crossed. "Now speak Rk said sitting on his chair. "She worked for Sultaan his eyes popped out. "Yes, she worked in his club he answered. "But dammed he has all striper clubs he punched the table harder this time. "But she worked as a manager Akash informed as he sighed. "But she was married to Ajay? he was confused. "They were never married Akash said flatly. "What? he shouted. "Yes, they never married. I don't know what happened but she is still single Akash said. "But... How?... he was confused. "And she is with Sultaan as... as... you know.. Akash didn't complete. "Mistress his eyes went down.
"And why is she with Sultaan? he asked Ajay. "I don't know. People told me that she herself seduced Sultaan to get into you know... get there he shrugged. "Here this is the file read it Akash handled him the file. "And the case was given to us by one of her friend Akash said. "Oh yeah, that waitress he opened the file and started looking at it. "Reema.. her name is Reema Akash answered. "Okay brother chill, Reema.. okay he held his hands up in surrender.
"But where the hell are we going? she asked for the fifth time. "You would get to know Madhu. Chill he answered smiling. "Don't chill me, just tell me where on the earth are you taking me? she asked again as Rk sighed. He stopped the car and placed his hands on her lips. They were just millimetres apart "will you shut up now he husk as she nodded looking at him with big eyes. "Good he still had his hands on. "Hmmm.. hmmm... she flipped her eyes to signify him to move his hand. "Oh... sorry he moved his hands as she took a deep breath.
"What the hell? she shouted. "Madhu not again he rolled his eyes. "You know you almost ki...she fumbled. "Oh so you wanted me to kis... she cuts him "shut up and just tell me where we are going. "We are here he stopped his car n front of the beach.
She was mesmerised by the view there. The moon was shining bright; there was silence with only the sound of waves. On the beach there were two chairs with a table which had a flower bouquet "White tulips her smile widened. "Your favourite she nodded. The frame was covered with white and pink curtain. "It's beautiful she said moving her head in every direction. "You like it? he asked. "I love it she answered.
He sat on his knee with the other supporting "Ms. Madhubala Mallik,
I don't know if I am the best person for you or not. I don't know if I will be able to define and live love in the most perfect way or not. But I know that if I want to try that I would want only you to be my partner. You complete me in a way no one ever could. Madhu, will you marry me? Would you like to be mine and only mine Mrs Short height for life? Would you like to accept this Mr attitude as your husband? she was breathing heavily with tears.
"Will you like to be... she cuts her "I would love to... Yes, I will she answered hurriedly. He immediately stood up as she jumped in his arms. "But I don't know if I would ever be able to say those three magical... she cuts him again "I don't want them. Shabd unke liye hote hain jinhe iss (words are needed for ones who) she points to his heart "iss dil ki sachchai inn ankhon mein nahi dikhti (are not able to see the truth of the heart in these eyes) he hugs her even tighter. "Nahi chahiye mujhe voh then shabd... tum ho naa humesha ke liye (I don't want those words.. I want you forever) she said. "Haan, main hoon... humesha ke liye (Yes, I am, I am forever) he answered smiling.
"Haan, main hoon humesha ke liye. Main hoon Madhu, main abhi bhi hoon. I know it was my mistake, par meri Galati ki saza tum nahi sahogi. I am coming (Yes, I am, I am forever. I am there Madhu, I am there now too. I know it was my mistake, but you would not get the punishment for something I did wrong) he said stuffing his things to his bag.
"Why don't you run? the maid ask. "Kiske liye bhagun chachi. Kahan jaungi main. Aur aapka kya? Pichli baar mere bhagne pe aapne apna beta kho diya. Meri wajah se ek aur parivaar... nahi... bilkul nahi...(For whom should I run aunty... and where would I go? Also, what about you? The last time I ran, you lost your son. I can't let one more family... no... never) she answered. "Par bitiya, yeh nark hain.. yahan tu kaise... (but child this is hell... how can you here...) she cuts her "chachi, aap bas ointment de dijiye. Rest I will take care about (Aunty, just give me the ointment, rest I will take care about) she said as she took the ointment and started rubbing on her every physical bruise hoping that only if God had made something for emotional ones also.
