Part-8



"Hey.." Madhu step on the corridor of the building & greets her friends gang with a smile, but was surprise with their lack of response. Her smile vanished, as she noticed everyone's eyes on her, few are stealing glances at her, few are whispering among themselves looking at her, and it really made her feel out of the place. What happened in a day that everyone became so aloof towards her.

"What happened ?" Madhu asked her friends nervously fidgeting with her fingers, but no one said a thing, and their silence made her more anxious.
"What is it ?" She asked again, this time lil agitated.
"Madhu.." She turns to mukund as he appeared from behind.
"What going on ?" She asked him.
"I'll tell u, come." Mukund excused themselves & took madhu away to their usual hang out spot, and some peoples follow them, to get the gossip.

"Why is everyone looking at me like that ?" Madhu ask mukund upfront.
"That day Rk dragged u out of the class and then we heard what happened in senior's music room."
Madhu fell silent hearing that, she already anticipated it but she never thought it would be this much big deal.
"Yaa.." Madhu uttered glumly.
"So.. Umm.." Mukund hesitated for a second "u both are seeing each other?"
Madhu flashed her eyes at mukund's question.
"What ? NO !" Madhu almost shouted. Seeing each other ? What the hell ? If its in her hand, she wish to never see his face.
"NO ??" All shouted in unison.
She shook her head in confirmation looking at them.
"Then, whats going on in between u two ?" A crisp voice of a lady came & all turned to the source of voice to find the collage Queen Dipali Bhatia standing there. Madhu remembers Dipali, she is an awesome dancer.
Dipali stands in front of madhu & asked curtly "what are u to Rk ?"
"Nothing." Madhu mumbled looking at Dipali. What kind of question is that ? Why will she be anything to him ?
"Then why is he so close to u?" Dipali asked crossing her arms over her chest, intimidating this Simple girl Madhubala, who appears so naive.
"Close ?" Madhu uttered perplexed looking at dipali.
"We saw what happened between u too, so dont lie. Now tell me what did u do to get ur hands on him ?" Dipali asked in venom filled voice.
"Hands on him ?" Madhu looks at Dipali wide eyed at her choice of words, which is so lewd.
"Where did u meet him ?" Another girl from their group asked madhu, seeing madhu repeating the words of dipali.
Madhu looks at her for a minute before answer.
"In his mansion."
All gasped at madhu. This girl reached his mansion too when they awaits everyday to get a glimpse of Rk, to have a word with Rk. Madhu is indeed very fast !! They thought.
"He took u to his mansion ?" Mukund probes in.
"No, mohan uncle." Madhu answered softly turning to mukund. Their questions are really making her feel uncomfortable.
"U mean Mohan Kundra ?" A Guy asked, to which madhu nodded in confirmation.
"Why would Mohan kundra took u to his mansion ?" Dipali asked furrowing her eyebrows.
"To live with them." Madhu replied not getting their purpose of questions.
"Means u are living with Rk & his family in his house ?" All gawk at her unbelievingly. How can a girl like her is residing with The Kundra Clan !!
"Yes" madhu said uncomfortably.
"Omg.." And there begins their whisperings. Madhu steals glances at them, this is really awkward when everyone has their eyes for u only & they are talking about u only, but thankfully the Period bell rang, and Madhu got the excuse to run away from them.
"Excuse me, i have class" madhu muttered, hastily making her way to the classroom, she walk past Dipali, who is glaring her hard.

Hence, she became the object of envy for girls. The girl whom no one knew till now, became the recognise face in the collage, in a day. What a promotion !!

*The Other Day*

"Madhu.." Madhu felt a pen poking her arms and she tore her eyes off the green board where the professor was writing something. She turn to her side, to find one of her colleague, Nikita.
"What ?" Madhu whispered. They are in the middle of lecture, and their professor is very strict.
"Give me Rk's no." Nikita whispered. Madhu looks at her unbelievingly.
"I dont have" she whispered back. She is lying but she dont have an option either. Since the truth that she lives with Rk in his house came out, she is experiencing this. Some were really pissed off at her, Some were jealous by her & Some were pestering her to introduce them to Rk or To give Rk's Phone number, Autograph, and even Arhaan's contact no. Too. She is fed up with all these.
"I told u to get it naa.." Nikita frowned at her.
"I dont talk to him." Madhu muttered. Where the hell is she stuck.
"Madhubala Malik !" Madhu jerk back, hearing the stern voice to find their professor looking at her angrily.
"What is the entry for Voyage account when goods are sent for consideration ?" The professor asked crossing his arms over his chest. Madhu stood up from her seat startled, tongue tied, well she dont know the answer cause she was distracted by Nikita.
"Dont know ?" Professor raised his eyebrows.
"Sir.. I .."
"There is no need to attend my class for gossiping reason. Get out ! And next time enter my class only when u have mood to pay attention." Professor said curtly. Madhu lowered her eyes, as she took her notebook & bag. She glance at Nikita, who is fully indulged in book. Why all bad things happens to her only ? Feeling hurt, she walked out of the class.

Mumbai is not for her, she was better in Dehradun. People were considerate there, but here all are very shrewd. She walks upto the canteen, and ordered for a sandwich at the counter. She can feel some pairs of eyes on her, ofcourse its the common canteen for junior, senior, and master degree pursuing students. Soon she received her order, she paid money and sits on a corner table alone, thinking about the transformations in her life. Survival is so difficult here, She felt her happiness is lost, her smile is lost in the crowd of the huge world.
"Hmm.. Nice.." She looks up to find Arhaan, chewing on her sandwich, sitting opposite to her on the Table. She looks down at her plate, which is now empty. Just great !!
"Why are u alone here ?" Arhaan asked keeping his eyes on her while taking a bite of the sandwich which Madhu brought for herself.
"Cause i have no one." Madhu spoke looking at him, her voice has edge of her agony. Hearing her hurtful answer Arhaan straighten himself on the chair, he knows about her, Rk has Told him on what circumstances She was brought in Kundra Mansion.
"U dont have class ?" Arhaan diverted the topic, offering the half sandwich back to her.
"I got thrown out." Madhu said, shaking her head in negative, gesturing Ahaan that she dont need the sandwich anymore. Strangely, She is talking normally with Arhaan, how.. She dont know. Though he is not in her Good list, still she feel comfortable around him.
"Cool.." Ahaan mused Again biting on the half sandwich. Though madhu wanted to say that there is nothing cool in getting thrown out of the class, still she kept quite. Meanwhile Arhaan finished the sandwich & walk away to the counter. Madhu kept sitting there pondering about her life, when Arhaan returned with a plate.
"Do u eat vegetable chop ?" Arhaan asked standing before her.
"Why ?" Madhu furrowed her eyebrows at his question.
"Yes or no ?"
"Yes"
"Here, eat then." Ahaan kept the plate in front of her "The sandwiches are out of order."
Is he for real ? He is compensating for eating her sandwich. At that moment madhu develop a liking for Arhaan.
"Its okk. U neednt to buy this.." Madhu being modest, points at the plate to which Arhaan shrugged his shoulders.
"And tell Rk To meet me at 7:30 tonight on Mount Road." Arhaan spoke which made madhu's eyes snap back to him.
"U can urself tell him." She said mildly eyeing him.
"He is not receiving my call, and u better inform him. Its important." Arhaan said coyly turning around to go.
"U can call him again." Madhu calls after him but he is already gone. Argh, whats that !! The liking which madhu felt for Arhaan a moment ago went down the drain now. How will she tell Rk about Arhaan, if she stand in front of him, even before she could say a word he would start undressing her with his eyes. Madhu groaned inaudibly, and sit down back on the chair, picking up a chop she started chewing on it tensed. His eyes, it holds so much volume in it, it made her feel uncomfortable to stand under his scrutinising gaze, yet it compels her to look at him. He is so strange. He is like a fire, she knows he is a danger, a forbidden area, her every organs in her body warns her to stay away from him, yet, when he is around her, like a moth she gets pulled to him, like an invisible force is pushing her towards him, to get lost in the depth of him.

Madhu spent the rest half an hour in canteen then she went to library to get notes. She Mentally makes a notes to buy the books, as she cant depend upon library for books.
She looks at her wrist watch which shows 5:10 at evening. Ya, they had extra classes. Closing the book, she returned it to librarian & walks out of the collage campus silently, cause now no one is friendly with her like they were before, except Mukund & few of her true friends. Standing outside the collage gate she waited for the auto or cab, when she spot a little cubby brownish puppy across the road walking wobbly. She saw a vehicle directing towards the lil life & without a second thought she ran to it, picking it up in her arms she stepped aside from the main road. The pup looks at her with the big black eyes. Its so cute, and that small thing brought a beautiful smile to madhu's lips. She smiled heartily at it. She used to had dogs as pet when she was small, and this puppy hardly looks like a month old. She looked around, for the mother of the pup or other bro/sis of the pup but there was none. The pup has hurted its leg somewhere & it was whimpering in madhu's arms. Cold breeze was blowing too, as its onset of winter season & she didnt want to left it wounded on road, So for some reason she decided to keep it.
She spot a cab coming, and soon she hire the cab.

Radha was sitting on the hall watching T.V with interest, when the door bell rang. A servant quickly run towards the door & opened it. Soon madhu step in the hall with her heart beating loudly, holding the puppy securely in her arms. She gulp seeing Radha in the hall. She didnt thought about Radha when she pick up the stray pup, but now what will madhu say, how will she explain it to radha aunty. But wait, she need not to say anything as the pup bark softly, gaining radha's attention. Radha who was watching T.v looks around startled with the barking sound.
"Oh heavens !" Radha exclaimed loudly seeing madhu standing, cuddling the pup in her arms.
"What the heck did u brought here ? Throw it out ! Just throw IT OUT !" Radha shouted while switching off the tv, and hurrying to madhu's side. The pup looks at Radha & then hid its face in madhu's arms, probably Radha's tone is hurting its ears.
"Aunty, it was alone there & its leg is hurt too." Madhu spoke feebly, looking at Radha.
"I dont care." Radha yelled "This is my house & not some charity center where anyone will come to live with head held high. First u & now this dirt." Radha made a disgusting face at madhu & the pup .
Though the words were not new for madhu, it still prick her heart, and yes, its hurts.. Very much. Madhu's eyes droop down to the floor, while the pup started barking at Radha. Seems like animals too know how the people around them are. With the commotions downstairs, Mohan walks out of his room.
"Mangesh.. Patil, come here fast." Radha shouted on top of her lungs.
"What happened Radha ?" Mohan walks upto Radha keeping his eyes on madhu, who by now has composed herself a bit.
"See, what ur darling girl brought in home." Radha taunts sarcastically looking at madhu.

Unknown to the drama taking place downstairs, Rk came out of his room to get some evening snacks for himself, wearing full sleeves black t shirt & a faded denim. He reached at the top of the stairs to climb down the stairs, when he halts in his steps seeing Madhu standing in the hall, with a lil creature in her arms, Madhu's head downcast, as always, she looks so fragile yet so Beautiful.

"Madhu whats this dear ?" Mohan ask madhu gently.
"Uncle.. I just.. It would have been dead if i leave it on the road." Madhu dont know how to make them understand. Even animals have life too.
"An animal in my house is not acceptable." Radha scowled & turns to patil who just arrive "Take this pup & throw it out."
Radha ordered. Patil looks at Radha, he is bound to follow her order. Patil step near madhu, as madhu shook her head in no pleading him with her eyes, holding the pup more tightly in her arms. Patil knows how soft hearted madhu is, but right now he has no other option. He stretched his hands to take the pup from her, but before he could touch it, Someone else took the pup out of madhu's embrace. Madhu gasped as Rk fetch the pup out of her hold, settling it in his arms he walks nonchalantly to the nearby couch, without caring for the gazes on him.
"Patil, bring a bowl of milk." Rk said as he occupy a sofa, and made the pup settle on his lap, he started ruffling its brownish fur, his eyes fixed on the pup. Patil smiled at madhu, and run to kitchen while Madhu looks at Rk with bewildered eyes. She is still scared that Rk might kill the pup, by crushing it. Not her fault, the way Rk is, its common to assume things about him.

"Rishu, no.. Not again. I am not allowing it." Radha looks at Rk angrily, while Rk didnt gave two hoots to what Radha said. Instead he kept playing with the pup, and the pup too started responding to him, by licking his fingers, wagging its small tail.
"Mohan, i wont kept it in my home. U know what happened the last time." Radha turns to mohan seeing Rk not responding, while Mohan looks at his son, Rk.

Well, its not new in their house. Rk used to brought all kind of stray animal in his home, which he met on road, on his way back to home from school. He used to brought puppies from street which ran all around the house as if its their own house, making the house dirty. He even brought chicks & baby birds too. In childhood he had pick up a lamb from road & brought home, which thankfully mohan had returned to the owner. Then while returning from summer camps, he used to brought wild fishes & put it in aquarium, which in return ate Radha's all the expensive decorative fishes. Every week Rk used to got some animals in their home & Mohan used to put it in animal care center the other week. Radha & mohan has seen Rk's obsession with animals. He is an animal lover. But the drastic days of his life has changed him to the extreme, after which he became what he is now, an impassive soul.

"Sir.." Patil return back with a bowl of milk & table spoon, and kept it on glass table, near Rk. Rk took the pup back in his arms, taking spoon full of milk, he started feeding the hungry pup. Madhu looks at Rk amazed, at the ease with which he is handling the pup, and the pup too snuggle comfortably in his arms. She never thought that there is this side of him too. He seems so cold, that its impossible to imagine him like this.
"Mohan.." Radha probes, as Mohan too didnt said anything. Mohan was adoring his Son, seeing him associating himself with animals again. He missed his Baby Rishab, he missed his Son's Laughter, he Miss his playfulness, he Miss whole of his Son.
"Let it be Radha.." Mohan said keeping his eyes on Rk. Rk stops feeding the pup hearing mohan, but then again he resumes feeding the puppy.
"U have spoilt him rotten & now u are spoiling her too." Radha couldnt hide her discontent & glancing at madhu one last time, she walks away from there. Radha dont like animals, more probably she is scared of animals.
As Radha walks away, Rk turn his head sideways meeting his eyes with his father, who is staring back at him with unfathomable expression.
Madhu watch the father & son duo who are staring at each other, with distant longing in their eyes. There is more in their relation, something might have been happened in their past. Cause right now what madhu is witnessing between them is completely different from what she see everyday.

Madhu ascend upstairs, after everyone departed from the hall. She is still surprised with Rk's behaviour. Rk.. And thats reminds her of Arhaan. Arhaan made her a messenger, and she need to pass Rk the information. But first she will change into fresh pair of very decent cloths & then she will knock on his room's door. Lost in her thoughts Madhu opens her room's door & step in closing it. She turn around & halts in shock seeing Rk sitting on the couch in her room, his legs crossed over the table, his Fingers playing with the fur of the pup which is in his arms. As madhu step in he raised his eyes from the pup to her, Looking at her.
What is he doing here ? She thought Rk would walked to his room taking the pup with himself, but nahh.. He is resting in her room.
"Did i missed something ?" Rk spoke keeping his eyes fixed on madhu. She looks bit tired. Madhu think for a minute & then Speak out what Arhaan told her to speak.
"Arhaan told me to tell u that he asked u to meet him at 7:30 in mount road & its important." Madhu spoke word by word. Rk gave a sideway smirk listening to her. She is speaking like she is giving oral test for examinations.
"Hmm.. U meet Arhaan ? " Rk hummed while leaving the couch, and standing up with the pup he directs his steps towards her.
"Yes, in canteen" Madhu looks at his approaching steps, but she has nowhere to go, as she is already plastered to the door. She tried to breathe calmly, to not get affected by him, but damn she is already having cold feet, as he neared her, standing just few inches away from her.
"Why are u late today ?" He ask her authoritively, looking down at her, his eyes locked on her face. Madhu raise her eyes to him, looking at him quizzically. Whats the use of the question & why will she answer him about her whereabouts !
"Why... Should i tell u !" Madhu dared to open her mouth, looking at him alarmed. In reply Rk silently stares at her, before inching his face closer to her, ceasing her personal space he close onto hers. Madhu close her eyes shut with his closeness, feeling his warmth penetrating her skin, only if the pup was not in his arms then she would have been crushed by his tough body by now.
"Cause I Asked ! And I dont Want Question in Exchange of my Questions. Remember THAT !" RK furiously whispered to her. God, why the hell did she opened her mouth in front of him. Did she forget his records. He can never be good. He is demonic, and dangerous. Why she has to witness this side of him.
Madhu thought silently before opening her eyes to met his furious gaze.
"Speak !" Rk states again. Madhu took a breath filling her lungs with air, the air has the warmth of his body, and his intoxicating Cologne.
"We had extra classes as the exam is approaching." And she spoke the truth. Getting the desirable answer from her, the furiousness left his eyes, but he continues to gaze her, intimidating her. Madhu shiver, feeling moist touch on her skin just above her chest. She look down, and so did Rk. His eyes drop to her chest, as the puppy which was in his arms, started licking Madhu on the exposed skin of her chest. With the sudden cold sensation & contact of the pup's tongue on her skin, she got goosebumps, resulting the mounds of her curves to harden, and the thin fabric of one piece dress which she is wearing didn't help either. Rk's eyes moved down her chest stopping at the two visible bumps on her chest.
His eyes became dark, As the view entice him to no extent, how his mouth itched to take those buds in his warmth, his tongue ached to feel them open. Unknown to his wild wanton thoughts, Madhu felt so embarrassed, at that moment she wished that she simply could be invisible, to hide herself from his penetrative gazes. She quickly cross her arms over her chest, loosely hugging herself, looking down, not meeting his eyes. Rk stepped back from her, roaming his eyes down her body from head to toe, he look back at her flushed face. If he kept looking at her, he would be forced to ravish her the very moment. Raising his hand he held her wrist, making her eyes grew wide. Before she could process anything, he transferred the pup in her arms, and left the room without saying a word, closing the door behind him. Madhu stood there like a statue, before leaving her long held breath. She leaned back against the wooden frame, hugging the puppy close to her chest, recalling what happened a moment ago. She raise the puppy & looks at it frowning.
"Did u really had to embarrass me in front of him ?" Madhu ask the puppy innocently, and it started wagging its tail, looking at madhu.
"God.. Thats very embarrassing !" Madhu moaned, as the image of Rk looking at her float in front of her eyes.

*A week Later*

Madhu looks out of her window, sitting on the window pane with ear phone on listening to music, her eyes observing the beauty of the nature. She watch the golden sunrays kissing good bye to earth as they retrieve back to their place, welcoming the darkness to spread its wings.
She notice the time on her mobile screen. 5:25 it shows, and its Twilight now. Its weekend & she had planned to go out for shopping, a few dress & few books too. Though she dont know all the lanes & markets in Mumbai, but she Know a place where she can get her necessaries, and Mukund too Promised to accompany her along with Aisha . Switching off the music on her phone, madhu jump down from window pane & walks to her cupboard. Opening it she scan her dresses with careful eyes, and then she pull out a Salwar Suit. In Dehradun she used to wear these traditional dresses only in certain festivals & occasions. But seeing the disapproving views of Radha aunty towards her dresses, she decided to wear it. Meanwhile she Pressed the call button on her mobile, trying to contact her bench mate Aisha, but it went unanswered, then she tried to call Mukund.
"Hey madhu.." Came the reply.
"Mukund.." Madhu said.
"Yaa.."
"Umm... Mukund are u coming for the shopping ?" Madhu asked.
"Ofcourse.. Are u ready ?" Mukund replied enthusiastically.
"Yeah am getting ready, i tried to call Aisha too but she is not picking up."
"Ah.. Dont worry, i will call her & pick her up too & should i come to pick u up ?" He asked hopefully.
"No Mukund, kundra Mansion is totally in opposite direction to where u live. I will directly meet u guys at the market." Madhu discard his offers.
"Ok, then.. See u soon." Mukund said.
"Ya.. Bye.." Madhu hung up & walked to washroom to get ready.

After few minutes, she came out Of the washroom dressed up in simple White Suit with red Embroidery, red dupatta & red Leggings. In the simple attire too, she looks breathtaking. Standing in front of mirror she straighten her Curly hairs with hair straightener, leaving it open, she put on earrings, minimal makeup including eyeliner, kaajal shaping for doe shaped eyes, and light shade lipstick highlight her sweet lips. This is the first time in last 5 months when she is really going out to view the city. She is quiet excited for it. Giving herself last touch up, she took her hand bag, mobile & cash, she walks out of her room. She didnt have to be hesitate cause Rk is not at home, means she needn't to face him & his heating gazes.

She walks out of the hall and went to porch. To her left is the Dog house, Mohan has build a dog house for the pup. Madhu smiled at the sleeping pup from afar.
"Dinesh Kaka.." She calls a middle aged man, who is one of the driver of Kundra family. Mohan had told her, that she can use the cars if she need to go anywhere.
"Ji madam." Dinesh came & stood in front of her in uniform.
"Kaka.. Can u drop me to the near by market, please ?" Madhu asked politely.
"Sure ma'am." Dinesh nods & gesture madhu to walk up to the car. Madhu smile at him & walk to the car. As she was going to step inside the car, a voice stopped her.

"Dinesh.." Radha called curtly. Dinesh, the driver runs to Radha immediately. Madhu turns around to find Radha, fully groomed, ready to go somewhere.
"Yes madam." The driver said.
"Take the car out" radha ordered, she has to go to attend a Kitty party of her friend. The driver nervously looks between madhu & Radha, which didnt went unnoticed by Radha.
"What are u looking at ?" Radha snapped.
"Ma'am.. Madhu ma'am also need to go to the market." The driver said as Radha looks at madhu with a frown.
"Why ?" Radha questioned madhu looking at her from head to toe. Madhu uncomfortably adjust her dupatta which was on her neck, before answering Radha.
"I need to buy few books & dress."
"Come back by 8 in evening." Radha told her, to which madhu nods her head.
"And the cars are for family members, u better hire any cab & go." Radha spoke again, pricking madhu's self respect. She is not the member of the family, she will never forget that.
"Ok auntie" madhu said in gentle voice and walks out of the mansion, with heavy heart.
"Dinesh, get the car ready." Radha disperse the driver, fixing her makeup & designer saree.

Few distance away from the mansion, she stood waiting for Cab. She watch the time its getting late too. Spotting a cab coming in her direction she waved her hand. The cab stopped & she gets in, giving the cab driver the address. Soon the cab pace up, she tries to clear her mind which is filled with Radha's images & her hurtful words. Why does it hurts every time, when Radha auntie says something so low ?
She just states the fact that Madhu is unacceptable to them, but still why her Heart ached every time knowing that She is Unwanted in the world. Madhu couldnt hold on, and soon she felt moisture on her pinkish cheeks. She has been crying, the Traitor tears deceived her eyes again.

A heart So soft,
That it wishes for only love.. !!
A heart so tender,
That it gets hurt by the Words !!
