Why? I am actually not sure :)
Kidding. I liked getting this story through Madhu's perspective. It made me feel the pressure she is under. And being a female, I understood her feelings of trying to be a dutiful daughter while also trying to be independent and free.
It is challenging for a woman, esp a daughter, to maintain a balance while not straying from the rules society forces on us. Sooner or later something has to give. And always we end up sacrificing a part of our dreams.
So I completely connected with this Madhubala character.
She finally lost her hold and took a chance to live for herself. It was her chance to fight back, rebel and stick it to society.
Thankfully this story has a 'happy ending' as RK turned out to be a hot, sexy and insatiable dude who actually cares rather than a loser who wanted only one thing.
