Butterflies Part 18

The doctor came:James is conscious now.
The butterflies were relieved.Deepa left Ayesha and ran inside to see James.
The butterflies held Deepa's hands and cried.
NK:Can't believe that dragon flies could be so cruel to you.
D:I will kill them.
J:No Deepa.It's dangerous.So don't do anything.
RK:So are you telling that butterflies should accept their failure?How can we not react when you are put in this condition?
J:By God's grace i did'nt die.I don't want to lose my friends.That's why i am telling not to react.Anyways i did'nt die no.
They were helpless.

After some months...
Election...
Voting is over.
Shakti:Like always we will win.
AyeshRK:How can you be sure?Butterflies are big competitors.
Sh:I and Sid cleared the ballot box.So though butterflies got more votes we will win.
Ayesha was surprised:Really?

They smiled.

The Principal announced the result:

Vice chair person:Trishna Kapoor.
College magazine editor:Sultan Mehta.
Arts club secretory:Madhu Mallik.
Sports club secretory:Rishab Kundra
Class representative:Nand Kishore.

Butterflies jumped with joy.Dragon flies were shocked.
Shakti:No...impossible.
Siddhanth:How did this happen?
The principal showed the video of them opening the ballot box.They were shocked.
P:Bloody rascals.You both tried to fool us?Butterflies had seen it and took it's video.Since they requested me not to reveal it to others i did'nt do that.Go and thank butterflies for saving your reputation.
Dragon flies were embarrassed.They saw butterflies smiling at them.

Dragon flies got irritated.

They walked away.Butterflies laughed.

Butterflies went to the pub and started dancing.RK remembered him brushing his skin against Madhu's cheek by mistake last time in the pub.But now purposefully went closer to Madhu and brushed his cheek against her's.She blushed.


College beauty contest.Madhu and Ayesha took part in the contest.
Ayesha challenged Madhu:Here you will fail.I have always won this title.
Madhu just smiled:Let us see.
Ay:No need to wait.The result is confirmed.
MADHU:Before the contest gor over how can you confirm the result Ayesha?
Ay:Just stop it Madhu.Only Ayesha can win this title.I have won this title in the previous years too.
MADHU:Just because you won the title in the previous years you cannot make sure that you will win this year also as unlike previous years this year you have a strong competitor;Madhu Kumari Gupta.
Ay:Just stop it Madhu.Don't try to mess up with me.

MADHU:Cool down Ayesha.Let us dress up for the next round first.
Madhu went to the dressing room while Ayesha was really irritated:How dare she challenge me?

The final round.
Finally the result.
The judge announced the result:The first runner up is Ayesha Bansal.
Ayesha was shattered.
Ay:I did'nt win the title?Then will Madhu win?Nooo.
J:The winner is...Madhu Mallik.
Butterflies were really excited.Madhu was crowned.Madhu looked at Ayesha in a sarcastic manner while Ayesha was ashamed.RK carried Madhu in his arms.
RK:Now my beauty Madhu is the beauty of this college.
Madhu blushed.
Ayesha went to the back stage and cried.
The dragon flies tried to comfort her.
Ay:I failed before Madhu.I can't bear this failure.
She cried loudly.
The butterflies came there.
RK:You all tried to defeat us by putting James' life in danger.But we defeated you all by living our lives.You can never defeat butterflies.
Shakti wanted to roar.But he controlled himself.The butterflies left giving them a victorious smile.
Aye:They are right.Dragon flies have failed.
Sid:No Ayesha.
Aye:Yes Sid.That's the reality.
They were irritated.
RK put a ring on Madhu's finger.
RK:It's my gift for you for winning the beauty pageant title.
MADHU:Thank you RK.This is precious than the crown i won.
They smiled at each other.

RK walked towards the car.He saw Sanchi drenched in rain.
RK:Saachi!
S:I am waiting for the bus.Did'nt get any bus.
RK:I will drop you.
S:Thank you so much RK.You always come to help me.
Her eyes were full of tears.
RK:Saachi!
S:Only you help me.My step mother has only tried to trouble me after dad's death.I am alone.I have no one.
RK felt pity towards Saachi and wiped her tears.He cupped her face in his arms.
RK:Don't be upset.I told you,Butterflies are your friends.You are not alone.You will always get help from butterflies.
She looked deeply at his eyes with hope.

RK led her to the car.Madhu saw this.She burned with jealousy.
MADHU:RK did'nt drop me home though he promised to wait for me till i change my clothes.
Madhu shed tears.
RK dropped Saachi home.
Suddenly he thought:Bye Saachi.I have to leave now.Madhu must be waiting for me.
Saachi's face became dull.
RK took another shirt and wore it as his present shirt was completely wet.
RK drove to the college.He did'nt find Madhu anywhere in the college.
RK:Madhu must have got lift from someone else.
He drove outside.Accidently he saw Madhu standing in the rain on the road.

She was shivering.

He was shocked.He went near her:Madhu!
She looked at him.

RK:Why are you standing here Madhu?At night standing here like this is not safe though with attitude you may say that Madhu Kumari Gupta knows how to look after herself.
MADHU:I thought you won't drop me as i saw you going out with Saachi.
RK:Oh!How could you think that i will forget it?Saachi needed my help.So i helped her.She is a naive girl.It's not safe her to travel alone at rainy night.That's why i dropped her.But you are my first priority Madhu.I can't leave you alone in the college and go home.
They looked at each other's eyes emotionally.

Her eyes were full of tears:I am sorry..i thought...
RK:Madhu,you don't trust me?You lost your faith in me in a few seconds?You forgot that before becoming lovers we were best friends.How can your best friend cheat on you?

Madhu burst into tears and buried herself in his chest.
MADHU:Sorry.

He embraced her emotionally.

She looked at his face.Again they shared a burning eye lock.
