TRP and peoples likings are two poles..
I like to watch positive as well as romantic serials..
but the saas-bahu serials always
topped in trp chart..
trp is a mysterious rating system..

Zubeada, TRP is supposed to represent the actual audience proportions, so that the money for the ads has a chance of being recouped by enough huge increase in people watching those ads in the middle of episodes.
If a series shows a regressive story, *maybe* it might get into legal trouble and close.
But if they show a progressive story, there's likely to be no need for the producer/channel to worry about legal trouble - they tend to go into loss and close the series anyway with not enough millions of viewers.
Think of it as if internet were off and the people who would still watch on primetime TV in India, that (give or take a few million) is the massive audience that channels need.
Most of those people never come online to praise or criticize tracks or serials (and sometimes don't even know the names of the actors they remember as a particular character even years after the serial ends), so online opinion is usually not matched by TRP.
As fans, the sort of different stories we enjoy and the pairings we like to see, we can get only so long as majority-audience likes it hugely enough to keep the track and/or the series from being closed.
And the frigging majority-audience is conservative values, at least for any show needing audience of enough millions and crores of people everyday for half-an-hour.
That's what makes the huge money spent on the making of every episode, the actors and crews pay, and the sundry other expenses of the channel and PH worthwhile.
The sponsors have been in this for decades. If TRP looks totally off about majority-audience's preferences, they are likely to avoid sponsoring rather than believe a claim totally contravening their own experience. Think of it as hands apparently singed with enough closed tracks/serials and sometimes even channels closed, and care well-learnt.

thanks alot guys for reply
so saas-bahu is the winner 😆😕

thanks alot leela for explaining it
theres no TRP in middle east so i didnt know why they put this kind of system
this system ruining all shows as for rising trp they test all kind of track logic or even far from any logic
the show start wonderful but then they end it when it become so messy and unwatchable ...
like what they did in MB

Zubeada, it's extremely frustrating but it's commerce, and it ensures the high paygrades the actors command and the great budget for many exclusive 'rooms' and misc sets, outdoor shoots, extras etc.
And we actually did manage to get the best TRP (including into the 4 spectrum) for the romance-cum-family drama in the months before the unwedding, and even after that until they had another man's blood almost drip into the maang of the female-lead.
If a serial's lead-pairing is massively popular with TRP-audience as more important than all 'family' supporting characters, then there is no option for another pairing.
The TRP-wrecking was for tracks that could be expected to flop but were pushed forward anyway.
Even a dozen people who are mutual strangers to us should not be expected to watch something they dislike simply as a favour to us for weeks and months, when it's just an entertainment show, not anything important that they might compromise on.
Here the CVs seemed to have the insistent hope with every track as if millions of the mass-audience would watch what they have always before opted *not* to watch in any series on any channel, just for the convenience of the CVs this time in this series on this channel. It was bizarre and confounding.
TRP is useful because it's a buffer - it lets us not appear blatantly as a not massive enough number.
Whereas if it was only on subscribing entirely, then channels would clearly see how many people would pay for what sort of shows - that would be potentially embarrassing for us.
And TRP gives us a way to get what we want if we package it in a way that majority-audience would find acceptable. Without TRP, it would be entirely and only majority-audience's preferences that would be hugely profitable for the channels.
It's damn unfair, but the options - at least currently - are unfortunately not massive enough to help us. If they ever are, it will be fantastic.
