The spy next door - Chapter 6

Hope you can remember the story so far 🤣 Sorry for the delay 😭

Finally I got a chance to catch Madhu alone. Lisa was jumping inside a bouncing castle. We seated in a near by bench. Madhu seemed worried about Lisa. 'Be careful Lisa! Don't jump too much.' Madhu warned her.

I didn't know how to start. But I wanted her to reveal about her past, soon. 'Madhu can I ask you something if you don't mind?' I started speaking. 'Yeah RK?' Madhu replied. I took a deep breath & blurted out my question.

'Umm.. where is Lisa's dad?' I asked in a different way instead of asking where her husband was. She seemed to be shocked with my unexpected question. 'Sorry for asking. I mean today is Lisa's birthday, so the two most important persons in her life should be there with her right?' I didn't want her to keep any doubt about asking such a question.

RK, you didn't ask about him when you came to our place? Now why suddenly? Madhu looked suspicious. God damn this lady is smarter than I thought! I guess something is wrong. May be she is legally separated from her husband. Come on Madhu! Blurt out all! I kept chanting.

'Well, sorry RK! I don't want to talk about my private life.' 'I can say one thing that Lisa's father is no more.' ' He is dead.' Madhu answered. Seemed like she didn't have any sympathy towards her husband even he was dead. Why did she said, 'Lisa's father is no more'? She didn't even call him his husband.

Now I have nearly confirmed that she was separated from him. If he was with her when he was dying, Madhu would have behaved more sensitively now. Seems like the mystery is about to come out. I need to confirm one thing. How is Madhu related to Mr. Ashok Khanna's death?

One thing is sure, Madhu can't be Mr. Khanna's wife because the complaint was lodged by his wife. Who is she? According to my boss Madhu was the last person who has met him before his death. What kind of a relationship Madhu had with him? God! this ain't easy to solve.

'Hello?' Madhu spoke to me breaking the silence. She seemed to be doubtful about me. 'What are you up to?' She asked me. 'Uh nothing' I grinned. 'How about your family?' she inquired. 'Well, it's just me & my mom. My dad passed away when I was just 5 years old.' 'I'm sorry to hear that RK.'

'It's okay. I replied.' 'Seems like this woman is interested more about my family. What is she up to? Why can't she just reveal about her family? May be this is too early to judge her. It's just 2 days we've met.'

'So your mom lives alone?' 'Umm yeah.' 'Why don't you make arrangements to get her here?' 'Well, I need some time to settle down. Then I'll get a way to get her here.' 'Oh okay' She smiled. What happened was unexpected. She was doing what I wanted to do. She kept asking about my family instead of revealing about her.

It's not the right time to ask everything from her. I have to be patient & wait for sometime till she becomes more comfortable with me. For the next few minutes we didn't talk about anything. We were looking at little Lisa who was enjoying to the fullest inside the bouncing castle.

Hours passed. Lisa & Madhu thanked me. Lisa said it was her best birthday so far. I was genuinely happy about what I did for her. May be I can get more information from Lisa. After all she is so close to me & children don't lie. The second day in Rome passed leaving me so many confusions & questions about Madhu.

Madhu's POV

Today was really a tiring day. I put Lisa to sleep. She went to sleep immediately today as she was so tired enjoying her birthday. She was hugging her new teddy bears which was bought by her RK uncle. RK is so different. He is so generous. He was special. I don't know why but I feel so.

But on what purpose did he buy such expensive toys for Lisa? Is he trying to get closer to me? He is still single as far as I know. What nonsense! What am I thinking? May be because he loves Lisa. He is the most genuine guy I've ever seen.

Why am I attracted to him? What is that strange feeling? I feel something special about us. Is there a chance it to be 'love'! No way! Shut up Madhu. I scolded myself. You have commitments in life! Just forget about RK! It's just 2 days & I feel that he is more than just a neighbour to me.

I looked at the photograph hanging on the wall near by. My commitments, my life is dedicated to them. It was a photograph of Ria, Ryan & Lisa taken some time back. I went to check on them. Ria & Ryan was playing monopoly. They were moody. They didn't even wish Lisa properly. They used to dislike their little sister because they think their mom died because of her.

I went to the store room & unlocked it. It was a prohibited area for the kids. Ria wasn't interested about it at all but Ryan & Lisa were always curious about it. Lots of memories were hidden inside it. They'll get to know about all those stuff with the time.

The room was dusty & it was filled with cobwebs. I couldn't resist coughing in this situation. I tried to control it as I didn't want anybody to hear any noise. The room was almost echoing with my cough.

I uncovered the cloth which was covering few of boxes there. The boxes contained so many precious things. Not valuable financially but valuable memories of my sister. I took a photo frame & rubbed away the dust. It was taken on her birthday, several years back.

Several years back, a day like today. Before she got married. I went through those unforgettable memories. We shared a deep bond as sisters. We were so close to each other more than our parents. There was nothing to hide between us. We knew each other's everything.

Flash back

5 years ago

I returned back early from work as my sister was due her third child in another week & I was looking after her. Nobody was there to look after my sister & her two kids except me.

'Maddy!' what did you bring for me?' Ria, my niece came running towards me. 'Ria! how many times I'd been telling you! stop calling your aunt by name. She is elder to you!' my sister Trishna chided. 'Arrey it's okay didi! Let Ria call me by that name. I love it.' I spoke while giving Ria a chocolate.

'Here you go sweetheart.' I gave her what she was expecting. 'Madhu are you mad?' 'You always bring something to them when you come back from work. You are dedicating your whole salary for Ria & Ryan!' My sister rebuked me for spending so much for her kids.

'Didi! then for whom should I spend?' I chuckled. 'Madhu this is not a joke. You are dedicating so many things for us. Your salary, your time, your energy everything!' You are gonna turn 24 years soon & still you haven't chosen somebody as your life partner.'

'Didi please' 'I'm fed up of that topic. Just let me stay for some more time. I don't want to lose my freedom any soon.' 'Madhu! when will you learn?' 'You had almost rejected all the proposals I brought to you! what else?' 'I'm so scared about your future! Are you planning to stay single for the rest of your life?'

'May be didi!' I chuckled. 'What?' 'Madhu..' My sister raised her voice. She was so much worried about me. I know it is all because she loves me & she wants me to get married & settle down soon. 'Yes didi! What if I didn't find the right person for me?' 'It's better to be single the whole life than suffering after getting married to the wrong person.'

I was speaking like a machine with my aggressiveness. I noticed the facial changes of my sister. I forgot that I blurted out something which had hurt her. She was sewing a baby dress. Her eyes became tearful.

I went towards her & placed my hands around her neck. 'I'm sorry didi.' I felt so guilty. 'It's okay Madhu.' She wiped her tears. I became more closer to her. She started sobbing. 'I'm so sorry! I could have not speak like that.' 'No Madhu. You are right & what you said was true. It's better to stay single than living a life in a hell.'

My sister fell in with love with a guy when she was preparing for the final exams in the school. My sister wanted to be a doctor & she was capable of it. She was a bright student in our school. I used to be the proudest little sister because my sister was so popular in the school as a bright student. She used to grab most of the awards & trophies in every prize giving. She became the all rounder in two consecutive years.

Everything was well till she fell in with love with a guy. He was Ashok, & he was the nephew of our driver. We had a function in our house for celebrating 25 years of our father's business carrier. He was about barely 22 years old & came to help along with our driver, Patil. He was Ashok's foster father.

My sister had fallen in love at the first sight. Ashok wasn't a handsome guy with sharp features but he seemed to be attractive. He even had a special attraction for my sister. The love was budding between them but our families had a huge gap. He was an orphan who had lost his parents from an accident when he was small & our driver had raised him.

Their love was hidden for more than a year from our family. I knew everything from the start & I had to contribute my support to them in certain times. I felt bad about hiding about this from my parents but I could do anything for my sister. She knew that our dad won't permit her to marry Ashok.

In the mean time my sister's academic side fell apart. She couldn't concentrate on her studies well. Her quality of determination & being ambitious faded away with her love life. Te principal had informed about it to my father & he had inquired about it from my sister many times. The only answer she gave was she was trying her best to do.

Eventually my father had a doubt about my sister's strange behavior & he had been keeping an eye on her. Finally he got to know about her & Ashok's relationship. He warned her several times but my sister was too stubborn. Even I felt that Ashok will not be able to keep happy for the rest of her life as he was financially not stable.

My parents did so many things to divert her from it but somehow she managed to keep in touch with him. One day my sister eloped with him leaving us with a huge shock. I never thought that she would take such a decision in her life. But all I wanted is her to be happy. I couldn't do anything other than praying for her well being.

This incident made my dad cut off all the relations with her eldest daughter. My mom was all sad & she kept weeping for days. My dad didn't show his sadness but he didn't want to keep any more contacts with his eldest daughter. We moved in to a new house as my dad didn't want to live in our home which filled with my sister's memories.

I felt that my dad's behavior was too harsh. But at the same time what my sister did wasn't acceptable. I had to fulfill their dreams by completing my education. I knew they had high hopes on my sister by becoming a doctor. They knew that I wasn't bright like her but they expected me to come to some sort of level from my academics. It's the wish of every parent.

So I built up my career in Architecture & I could fulfill the wishes of my parents. Years passed. My sister had 2 kids, a daughter named Ria & a son named Ryan. Ashok had started some business & he could develop it further & became one of the young business tycoons in a short span of time. Thanks to my sister's courage & their endless efforts made him successful.

Eventually my mom developed a soft corner for my sister again & they started interacting with each other yet my dad didn't even care to speak to her. I didn't lose contacts with her no matter what happened. I tried to change my dad's mind but he seemed to be with his own policies.

My sister was happy with her 2 kids but her happiness didn't last long. Ashok became a complete different person after entering the business world. He barely gave time for the family. He enjoyed partying with his friends & business partners while my sister was all alone home with their kids.

He was an alcoholic & became more ruthless. He didn't give any importance to the family. My sister was just another way of a service for him. He used her only to fulfill his desires. He didn't care about her like before.

In the mean time my sister had got to know that Ashok has a relationship with one of his business partners. She was broke down completely. I wanted to re-unite their family many times but Ashok never listened to me. He asked me to stay away from their business. I was so helpless that I couldn't even do anything for my sister.

My sister wanted to mend their relationship. But it was beyond repair. Ashok almost left her and the kids & he moved to another house. He wanted a divorce from her. My sister didn't want to give it as she was afraid of losing the father of her kids.

The situation became more complicated when she got to know that she was carrying his 3rd child. It was a result of him using her for his desires. He never wanted a kid again. My sister thought that he would change after hearing the news of the baby but unfortunately he didn't want the kid & he was forcing her to abort her. He was blackmailing her to give the divorce.

Finally she had to agree. Still they haven't separated legally but he wants to rush it as he was waiting to get married to his so called 'new love.' My sister had gone through a lot! more than enough. I decided to look after her. She didn't do any job so it she had so many financial hardships. My monthly income was enough to maintain a family.

I caressed my sister's hair. She was weeping silently. 'Didi, please stop it.' 'I don't want to see you in tears.' 'Relax' 'I will get something to drink.' 'No Madhu. You just returned from work. Just freshen up yourself.' 'No didu wait! I'll make you a juice. You need to chill for a while. Don't fret too much. It's not good for the baby also.'

I was making a juice for her when I heard my sister screaming loudly. The next sight made me scared to death.

Note - Guys I'm really sorry for being so late! Hope you didn't forget the story! 😆 I've been facing some difficulties in my personal life & so busy with my studies as well! I won't be able to update on time with my busy schedules 😔 I'm hoping to update this story atleast once a month! Please let me know if you aren't interested in this story anymore so I can discontinue it! No hard feelings! Just stressed out these days! See you all in the next update hopefully! 😊

feeling pity for Trishna , she go through so much due to her folly
husband.. madhu sacrifice her life
to her nephew and niece.. here I can
understand why ria and rihan didn't
like Lisa.poor kids.waiting eagerly

feeling sad for trish. Poor girl fell in love at a very young age & Suffered a lot trusting an idiot. I hate ashok, he's such an heartless creep!! Is she only for his pleasure? Dont he know to respect her & Treat her like human? He gave three kids & Left her to suffer on her own.

okay let me guess the story, i hope u dont mind lol...

loud scream from trish..is it labor pain or that ashok had come & Harmed her in anyway or she sliped & Got herself hurt! Okay whatever it is, she delivers her baby girl & Dies on d same day & Madhu takes d responsibility of d three kids & Before shifting to Italy she would have taken her revenge on ashok for her sister's death.

hmm...nah! I think ashok's wife or some business rival would have killed him but since madhu was d one who met him last so they think madhu was behind d murder but she could be innocent & Rk would find d truth & They get punished & Then rk will marry madhu, they will happily together with their kids. Lol!!
