PART 43
I opened the packet and found some tapes and letters. "What are these", I spoke out, rather loudly. There were dates written on it. I opened the one dated the earliest. It was a video clip. I plugged it into my laptop and played. "Video recording", I scratched my head as the video played. It was dated January, 2007.

The recorder of the clip had his camera tucked in his shirt. The sounds suggested that the person with the camera was walking on a grassy terrain. He/She entered a warehouse and headed to a chair, where a young man was seated. As the camera-holder reached infront of him, I could see who he was.

Rihan: What is that you want, Sahil?

I choked as I heard Sahil's name from Rihan's mouth.

Sahil: I want you to know the truth.

Rihan: What truth?

Sahil: 'bout your dad, buddy!

Rihan: My dad? How do you know him.

Sahil: I don't. But I know someone who did.

Rihan: Who?

Sahil: Your best buddy, Rishabh.

Rihan: I know that. He did know him.

Sahil: So did his dad.

Rihan: Your point?

Sahil: You can't see the truth, Rihan?

Rihan: About what?

Sahil: Your dadi's death? Oops! It was a murder.

Rihan: Rubbish.

Sahil: Aah! Like I thought. But sorry to break your bubble, your father was murdered.

Rihan: No.

Sahil: Yes. I have tapes.

Rihan: Who murdered him?

Sahil: Your best buddy's father.

Rihan: You're lying!

Sahil: Nope. I am not.

Rihan: I don't trust you.

Sahil: But you will trust these recordings.

Rihan: Show me?

Sahil: Not before you do something for me...

Rihan: What??

I wondered, why was Sahil recording this? Maybe he was making sure that if Rihan bluffed with him, he'd have a way to clear to blackmail him. That son of a b****. I pressed the play button. The video ended and proceeded into the next one.

It was a mansion. A beautiful palatial mansion. The person with the recorder walked inside the mansion and reached the living area. Some people were having brunch. The person carefully moved the camera. It was in his shirt. I saw the fabric threads on the borders. "Rihan!", a voice rose up among the guests. Sahil moved forward and offered his hands. It was Rihan recording this. "I did what you said. I planted the girl", he said. That is when I checked the date. It was the date when I had gotten engaged to Anjali. Looking back, I saw Rihan receiving a packet from Sahil. "Here you go, Rihan! Those are the recordings", Sahil said. Rihan grabbed the packet. "We're even. Now no more tasks.", Rihan said and turned away. "Ahaa! That's when you're wrong my friend", Sahil smirked. "These playlists, are encrypted. You can't access these.", he said. "Sahil. I did what you told me! I planted the girl in Rishabh's life! What would you have me do now??", Rihan yelled. The people around grew silent. "Its alright, gentleman. We're arguing over a bottle of scotch!", Sahil smiled and pulled Rihan out of the room. "Easy, buddy. I can have your dear friend killed in the snap of a finger.", he said. Rihan sighed and followed him to the first floor. Sahil shut the door behind him. "What is the advantage of having the girl planted when we can't extract revenge?", Sahil continued. "Your father died, and I suffered a loss because of Kundra Industries. Its time for a payback!", he said. "What do I need to do now?", Rihan asked. "Get this letter to the girl. She knows how to take this forward. I'll decrypt the files when we're done! Trust me.", Sahil said and exited. Rihan stood here for a while and then slowly trudged out. At the doorstep, the recording ended.

I was dumbstruck after this recording. "Will!", I yelled. Will rushed in minutes later. "Sir!", he said. "Get me whiskey, now!", I fumed. He nodded and rushed out. Next minute, he was back with a bottle of fine Australian Rum. "Sir! Our stash of whiskey has hit the rocks. We only have Rum", Will said. "That is what this has come to. Will, I want the stocks refilled before midnight or you can kiss your job goodbye along with the rest of the staff.", I yelled. Will nodded and left. I opened the bottle and trickled it into the glass. There were plenty more recordings. The ones at the end showed how Sahil cheated on Rihan. Rihan's father had died of natural causes. Sahil was bluffing. I felt a lump in my throat. My friend went through the same trauma...and he had been going through it for a long time before I got involved. I wanted to see him. But then a question popped up in my mind, why would Madhu hide his tapes from me? Why would Madhu not want me to know the truth? She knew what Rihan meant to me and yet? I gulped the Rum and poured more. There was a letter in the end.

Rishabh,

I have wanted to talk to you for years now. It eats me up to imagine what you went through because of me. Sahil had me fooled. I am sorry for not trusting you. I am sorry, brother. I really want to see you!

My eyes welled up. Tears collected on the brim of my eyes. I wiped them off and got up. My head was fuzzy. "Will!", I yelled as I walked out. "Take me to this address. NOW", I yelled and grabbed my coat and went out.

The cars were waiting for me when I reached the reception. I got in and we moved to Rihan's. I had emotions racing up and down. A faint smile creeped my face as I realized I'd see my friend. Sahil had messed up with both of our lives. As the car drove towards Rihan's loft, Will poured me a glass of white wine, which was stashed in this car's freezer. "Sir, I have stocked our bar. Sorry for the inconvenience.", Will muttered in a low tone. My head was heavy. The alcohol was slowly percolating my senses. "Hmm...", I managed to utter with much difficulty. "Are you alright, Sir!", Will said. "I am.", I shot back. Will received a call. "Sir, we're here.", he said. I put on my glares and peeped out. It was a wretched building. "Sir, you should stay here. We'll go and look around first.", Will said. I nodded. Will left 2 men in my car and took the rest of them inside. A while later, he came back. "Sir! Someone named Rihan lives inside. He is there. We should make a move!", he opened the door for me and waited. I buttoned my coat buttons and came out. Will closed the door and then followed me closely. "Watch the roof, sir!", Will muttered as we entered the building and made it to the loft. On the door, Will knocked. "Mr Rihan!", Will asked. "Yes!", a familiar voice sounded. I placed my hand on Will's shoulder and asked him to take a step back. "Rihan!", I said as I moved forward. "Rishabh!", he exclaimed with an expression of shock in his eyes. "May I?", I asked. "Yeah...ofcourse! Please!", he spoke in fragments. I nodded and entered his loft. Will followed me inside, while the rest of my staff waited on the door. "I am fine, Will. You can go out.", I said. "I am to be around you, all the time. Mrs. Kundra's orders.", he said. "Mom?", I whispered to him. "No sir!", he motioned his lips back. "Your...", he started to move his lips when I nodded. "Hmm, well! Stay here, then!", I said. "How are you here?", Rihan said.

"I...umm!", I started but then I felt short of words. Irony. We were best of friends and suddenly, we had nothing to talk about! "I got your...", I stared.

"My package. Finally. I left it there, months ago!", he rolled his eyes.

"Hmm...Rihan!", I extended my hands. He smiled and hugged me. "I am sorry!", I spoke.

"I think we should leave the apologies bit. I don't think we need it.", Rihan exclaimed.

"Although, I am still surprised that you got my package."

"What do you mean!", I broke the hug. He offered me a seat.

"I mean, I gave it to Madhubala. Remember that girl!", he chuckled. I sighed. "I do. Why are you saying that!", I replied.

"She...I never thought my packets would reach you!", he smirked.

"Why would you say that! And with so much surety?"

"I can. I knew that girl the moment I saw her running away from her wedding that night, years ago"

"Umm...what exactly did you know??", I raised a brow.

"That she was strange. Impulsive and a little obnoxious", he shrugged.

"Rihan, you can't speak of someone when you don't know that person!", I frowned.

"You always were smitten by her, weren't you?", he chuckled.

"Excuse me?", I said defensively.

"Rishabh! I saw it in your eyes. That girl had her hooks on you the moment you lay eyes on her.", he said.

"Did I?", I asked, confused.

"Yeah. But that girl isn't meant to settle down with. I mean she freaking ran away from her altar!", he chided.

"Rihan...lets not talk about her.", I heard Will cringe. He understood that this was about his boss's wife. "Sir! I will be right back", he said and exited. I nodded.

"Why didnt you reach out to me earlier.", I asked.

"I couldn't find you. And even if I did, I couldn't face you. I needed to be self sufficient first!", he said.

"Hmm.."

We sat there, sipping whiskey as we talked. "I met Madhubala some months ago. She gave me your email through which I contacted you!", he said.

"What..", I started and then realized that it was yet another of her secrets. "Yeah...I gave her the email. She is sweet.", I said.

"Ohh! brother. She is a b****. She made me run behind her to contact you!", he smirked.

"That's it buddy! You've said enough about her.", I rose up furiously.

"Are! It is brother to brother talk!", he said.

"Think first and then speak!", I roared.

"Why are you defending her!"

"Because she means something to me!", I yelled.

"Still smitten, Rishabh?? Its ok buddy!"

"SHE IS MY WIFE, RIHAN! I am not smitten by her, she MEANS THE WORLD TO ME!", I pulled his collar.

"Rishabh!", a feminine voice sounded at the door. We turned and saw Madhu standing at the door, flushed with sweat. I settled a slap on Rihan's face as Madhu pulled me back.

"Rishabh!", she held my arm. "Lets go home!", she yelled. Rihan was startled by the slap and he observed me and Madhu. His eyes fixed upon Madhu as he realized she was pregnant. "I am so...", he said. "YOU BETTER BE!", I roared. Madhu pulled me to face her. "Ghar chalte hai...please!", her eyes were red and she was burning. "Madhu!", I whispered. "Please...", she whispered and then started swirling in my arms. "Hey..", I said as I held her tightly. She pulled my collar and then passed out in my arms. Will was taken aback as he jumped to help me. "Its ok, Will. I am fine. Give this man what money he needs and get him out of town", I roared and went out. She lay on my shoulder, with no movement. I panicked as I took her to her Ob-Gyn.

Wow...update at last.😛

Was missing this story so much.

Now how did madhu find out where Rihan lived?

RK got his friend back but Rihan had to open his stupid mouth about madhu n get kicked in the process. Glad he slapped him for talking about madhu.👏

Now what's wrong with madhu? She fainted...😲
