Chapter - 26
Suddenly they hear a commotion at the entrance and both of them turn to find a handsome young man enter the restaurant. RK was giving Daksh a is-that-really-you look and Daksh was giving back RK how-dare-you-trap-my-sister look while Madhu sweetly smiles at him. Daksh smiles at madhu and gives a glare to RK indicating him silently that he is not happy with this relation. After the initial huggings all of them sat down together. Madhu noticed something fishy between RK and Daksh through the looks they exchanged.
Madhu(happily) : " dada, this is RK aka Rishab Kundra, and RK this is my dada, daksh malik"
RK was giving Daksh a smug smile and Daksh was giving back RK a stern look and the deathly glares exchanged were witnessed by a thoroughly shocked and surprised madhu.
Daksh (in a do-you-really-know tone) : " so RK...i hope madhu told you everything about Rohit...actually it was my father's last wish to get madhu married to rohit ...looks like my sister doesn't want to go by his words..."
Madhu(looks down at her knotted fingers) : " uh...dada... it's just..."
Daksh (sarcastically) : "I completely understand sis...he's dead so why follow his orders...right...(madhu opens her mouth to object but is not able to say anything)...listen RK I would like to meet you some other time coz firstly I would like to talk to my sister alone."
Madhu(beaming) : "of course dada anything you want. I want everything to be as you like."
Daksh(finally) : "So it's decided then...I will text you the place and time after I make my decision...one more thing RK, me and madhu are moving to Rohit's farm house now itself."
RK (gritting his teeth): " But what is the need for that?"
Daksh (giving a don't-be-stupid stare to RK) : " RK plz. If you 2 are to get married, then I don't want you people sticking around in the same place."
RK( irritatingly but controls himself after seeing Madhu) : " But...fine."
Daksh : " So RK, I believe you came by your own means. Goodbye ...see you later."
Daksh tells him , grabs madhu's wrist and gets inside his car. RK was pissed off with daksh's cold behavior with him and his anger is fueled by the fact that he even didn't get any chance to say bye to madhu. RK takes out his phone and types a " is everything OK" and waits for the reply to be "everything is OK and will call you once I become free".
After reaching home, daksh enquires madhu
Daksh (raising his voice to a fewer octaves): " why would you want to marry such a man. He has a horrible past. Some years before, he was accused of coming to the sets drunk and created a scandal with the heroine of that film...it became viral on the net and he came to me to help him out of that. His persona among the girls is bad...in fact worse. Do you know anything about that?"
Madhu(calmly not tempting his anger) : " dada, I know everything you say is true. But he told me everything about his past...he is changed now...and he means a lot to me now. I trust him dada and I want you to approve of him."
Daksh(with finalty) : " look madhu...i just won't approve of him just coz you love him. I will have to make sure that he really loves you and he has changed. Only then I will take my decision. I don't want you to suffer. I want you to be happy and you know how much I love you and manno."
Madhu : " of course dada, I love you and know that you also care for us. You can take all the time you need and make the decision."
Daksh is quite convinced by the fact that she is so madly in love with RK but he wanted to confirm everything from RK's side. He calls RK for lunch to his farm house after madhu goes for her work, the next day to study him and RK reaches at the appointed time.
Daksh(questioningly) : "well... RK, the superstar of bollywood...heartthrob of girls in Mumbai...The most eligible bachelor right now...now tell me what makes you like my sister?"
RK (a bit irritated) :"What do you mean by that?... I love her and want to marry her."
Daksh (with pride)"I know that... she told me... but the million dollar question is why her? She is not like your type. She is kind, calm and all that which you are not."
RK(still maintaining his anger) : "she is an opposite of me and that's what I like the most in her... and if I am not mistaken you are the very same person who handled my scandal case some... 3 yrs before...am I right"
Daksh (sarcastically) :"So you remember me... However with your colorful past I never thought you will remember me. Trust me RK, I told my sister everything about your mood swings, starry tantrums and your flirtatious nature and to not trust you but she thinks that you have changed but now how can I make her understand that some people will never change."
RK (with pride that madhu believes him): "what can I say in my defense? Madhu loves me and I love her and that's what matters to me now the most."
Daksh(in a you-will-never-change tone) "I know the truth better than you but I just cant believe the fact that my sister who is very good at studying people has chosen you for a husband. Ok lets not go into that... I heard you want to marry her soon. Sorry it cant be done. I need time to take decision about my sis. I want her to be happy so I cant take any decision in a hurry... I hope you do understand what I mean... It means you have to wait. I will call you in a week's time to let you know about my decision and if it is a yes then I would like to meet your family also."
RK (effectively masking his anger and giving fake smiles): "fine by me."
Daksh : " good... OK shall we eat? So now this is just a friendly meeting ...is that okay with you."

Daksh studies RK closely for the next 7 days and he is also convinced that RK truly cares for madhu and is serious about her. But his attitude worried Daksh the most. RK was self centered, short tempered and egoistic though that is eclipsed by the fact that he loves madhu. But still Daksh couldn't fully approve of madhu's relation with RK. He very well knew the consequences of such virtues as he too had them. But he convinced himself that no one is perfect and tried to see his good virtues and also madhu's happiness with him. Daksh was very strict in judging RK and reminded him well about his past and RK was totally irritated by it. Though he tried to control it sometimes, he burst out most of the times even without his knowledge. The fact that RK and Daksh were same kind of creatures was not helping their marriage in any way and madhu was pissed between them both whenever they met.
The next day, daksh arranges a get together between his family and RK's family to take decisions about rishbala's wedding such as the auspicious occasion for engagement and wedding.
Daksh (beaming from within) : " when is the most auspicious occasion for my sister's wedding? I want everything to be perfect for her."
Panditji (in a so-sorry tone) : " Daksh, the thing is there are no auspicious occasion in this month and truth to be told there are none for the next couple of months. We should wait I think."
RK (a bit angrier and calms himself after seeing everyone's reaction especially madhu's) : " I don't believe this crap. We can perform the wedding anytime in this month itself. These horoscopes are just superstitions and I give a damn to them."
Daksh ( in a what-the-hell tone): " are you trying to tell me that our faith is crap?"
RK (irritated and angry): " that's not what I meant."
Daksh (irritated and angry): " what else did you mean?"
Both RK and Daksh were giving each other stern looks and a smug-fake smiles. Everyone was aware that they both were trying to mask their respective angers behind their fake smiles. Everyone was keenly observing both RK and daksh and were trying to gauge the possible events that could take place. Slowly radhaji and madhu moves towards RK and Daksh respectively to control them if they burst out in anger.
Daksh (in an advicing tone): " RK, I think you really need to learn to control your temper."
RK(mirroring the same) : " I think we both are cut out from the same cloth."
No one present there was able to understand their looks and conversations. In spite of RK's innumerable attempts to perform the marriage on the next auspicious occasion, the dates were fixed after 2 months to which everyone obliged except RK. He left the place in sheer anger and everyone was ashamed of his behavior in front of daksh.

After reaching home, madhu was trying hard to forget RK's cold behavior towards daksh. She took it as an insult of her dada and was mad in anger with RK. Her phone beeps indicating her about a received message. She reads the message, grits her teeth in anger and leaves the house which was noticed by daksh. But wisely he understands the scene and didn't say a thing. Reaching RK's vanity,
Madhu (angrily): " why did you do it RK? How could you do this?"
RK (even more angrily): " look our first encounter... was not that good. He is ...getting me wrong, madhu. All I am trying to say is..."
Madhu(howling) : " I don't want to listen to anything, RK."
RK (crushing her wrists in anger): " listen to what I have to say, will you?"
Madhu : "you know what he means to me and yet this behavior. It's unforgivable."
RK(determined) : " FINE!!! We are getting married on the next auspicious occasion. That's it."
Madhu (with finalty) : " NO... WE ARE NOT...NOT UNTIL HE AGREES WHOLEHEARTEDLY AND GIVES US HIS BLESSINGS. I LOVE YOU BUT I LOVE AND RESPECT HIM MORE."
RK(with determination clear in his voice and face) : " LISTEN, IF I CAN KILL MYSELF TO GET YOU THEN I CAN DO ANYTHING TO KEEP YOU ALL TO MYSELF...ANYTHING AND I MEAN IT. DON'T PUSH ME, MADHU."
Madhu(calming for her own good self) : " listen Rishu, I don't want to go against my dada . If he wants us to get married after 2 months then what is wrong in that?? 2 months is not a long span. Can't you wait that long for me."
RK : " what if the punditji doesn't find any auspicious occasion for us through our life. Then what will you do. Won't you marry me??"
Madhu : " you are very angry now. We will talk about it later."
RK : " we started it so let's stop it with a good decision . I think your brother doesn't approve of our relation and he is never going to do that also."
Madhu : "rishu, why are you so negative about our relation and dada. he is just concerned for me and wants everything best for me and as far as our marriage is concerned, we will get married. What if it is after 2 months? Does that make any difference in our relation...huh?"
RK : " okay for you 2 months it is, but after that if the same drama happens again, at that time I won't listen to anyone. Not even to you. Mind it and one more thing, your brother agrees or not but we are getting married and that's final."
Saying this RK smashes his lips hardly on madhu's. His anger and need was palpable in his kiss.

1 month passed and RK and madhu's meetings gradually reduced. With her work and the responsibilities of her dada and manno, she rarely got time to spend with RK which of course didn't go well with RK. But RK forcefully made madhu sign a new contract between them by which madhu definitely met RK once in a day. One day madhu was working hard on her laptop sitting in RK's vanity that she didn't notice RK entering the vanity. He walks closer to her and back hugs her but madhu continues her work. RK starts kissing her and after some time closes her files with one of his hands to get her undivided attention. Madhu simply smiles at his gesture. After kissing her on her cheeks, he concentrates on her neck and when he was about to remove her dupatta, madhu gasps loudly and stops him.
RK : "what's the matter madhu? Why can't we just go beyond that? We are getting married in a month...don't behave like a bloody Indian bride."
Madhu : " it's not that RK. you know I can't...i mean I can't before marriage. Do yo know how wonderful it would be to lose one of your well preserved virtue to the one you love and that too on the day we both become one for a lifetime. I want to lose my virginity on my wedding night.that's how I have always dreamt it to be."
RK : "ok let's not make love...can we just make out?"
Madhu : " NO..."
With that madhu, smiling at RK, goes out of the vanity van shutting its door but not before hearing RK's angry shouts.

A heavily drunk man enters a dimly lit room with great difficulty and helps himself to the sofa near by. After sometime, he slowly moves towards the wall, towards a portrait. The portrait was that of madhu's.
" I think now it's time to execute my planned moves. Only one month is left for me."
And he smirks evily
