Moments later, Will entered the empty study. I was sitting on the chair. "Excuse me Miss. Sir has already left for a routine round to the Industries, has he told you to wait?", he politely asked.

He already left? Without saying a word? What the hell does he think? I cleared my throat and thoughts.

"No, and I am not interested in waiting anymore. Inform your Sir that this wasn't expected from an eminent personality like him!", I spoke and collecting my purse, I rushed out. In the Lounge, Radha Aunty waited for me. Her head down with guilt. I stopped to bid her goodbye.

"I am sorry Beta. RK has become so careless."

"You needn't be sorry Aunty. Its not your fault. And it was really nice to meet you", I gulped my anger and doned calmness. She smiled meekly.

"I won't need this", I handed her the ID back. Sure as hell I wasn't coming back to this place ever.

As soon as I reached out of the mansion premises, my anger succumbed me. I hit the gas pedal and my car roared violently. I was very egoistic when it came to my work and no one had the right to slam the door on my face. Not even my good friend. I couldn't recognise anything in him that reminded me of RK. It looked as if this was his darker counterpart. I tried to shrug off his thoughts. I had been in love with this guy? Shit! NO MAN. How could I. Where did my instincts go when I was falling for him?

"You are pathetic Madhu!", I slammed the steering and the car flung to the left. Honks and brakes' noise followed. Gladly, there was no traffic police around. I stopped my car on the side of the road and took out my bottle. Taking a huge sip, I heaved 2 breaths to calm myself down. My phone buzzed. It was a reminder to attend a dinner with Adam. I sighed and drove back home and fell on the couch. Stacy was opening the grocery bags.

"Mam, there were 2 messages for you!"

"Yes Stacy?"

"One from Adam McCulum and other from Kundra Iron and Steels Ltd"

My eyes popped up.

"What did Adam say?"

"Mam he asked me to remind you about the dinner tonight. Address is mentioned in the parcel he sent to you."

"What parcel?"

"Mam I placed it in your room. It came after you left!"

I cringed.

"And Captain Will from Kundra Iron and Steels wanted to apologise you for the inconvenience caused. The CEO is grieved that he couldn't meet you."

"Yeah right!", I rolled my eyes.

"Thanks Stacy. You can go now!", I got up for my room.

"Are you sure Mam?", she asked.

"Yes. Just leave a Bottle of Beer in the Freezer."

"Certainly Mam!"

I saw a parcel on my bed. It was an exquisite gown, very costly. What was Adam trying to do? God. That looked like a flirt. I giggled and made a mental note to chide Adam when I reached the venue. Nevertheless, the dress was gorgeous. I quickly had a shower and straightening my curls, I put on the gown. It suited my curves. Looking for accessories, I thought...a clutch would just be it.

I rushed out of my apartment, locking it behind me. I was late as always. And it was a mammoth task to drive in a gown and heels. So I removed them and drove with naked feet. The restaurant was in the same area as the Kundra Industries and as I passed by the mansion, memories of Mr. attitude disturbed me, but I distracted myself. The restaurant parking was empty. I felt strange considering it was a Saturday night. I sensed something wasn't just right. At the reception, a sweet girl handed over wrapped box. She asked me to head straight to the Silver Lounge as it was called.

The Lounge was quiet and dark. I felt creepy. "Hullo?", I called. "Adam!", I peeped inside. It had an eerie feel. "What is wrong with this day?", I stamped my feet on the ground, hurting my toes. "Ow!", I moaned. I had almost turned around to go back when a heavy hand pulled me inside and locked the door.

Boom! There was a burst and lights were restored. It was decorated with balloons and flowers and glitters and shimmers. There was a screen on the opposite side which started playing my snapshots. It was embarrassing. At the end of the clip, it was written "Happy Birthday Madhubala". I hit my head. Damn it! It was my birthday the next day. And the clock had struck 10...they were early. I smiled cheekily.

Maria grabbed me first, handing me a beautiful bracelet. It was followed by a Thank You and Happy Birthday Session! Dozens of gifts were stacked up. Adam was the last one.

"That dress was gorgeous Adam!", I hugged him.

"Happy Birthday! May God Bless you Darling! I am so glad you liked the gown, it looks stunning on you!"

"Aah! Thank you Adam. And this was great. I had completely forgotten about this.", I sighed.

There was a round of drinks and snacks as we played cards and cut the cake.

"You know MD, we got this lounge for free"

"How?", my neck choked with Vodka.

"I don't know. The owner seems to know you. He said this is a compensation."

"What compensation?", I blurted without thinking. A second later, I coughed on realisation.

"Who is the owner?"

"He's just joining us. Anytime."

"Ohh no!", I thought in anger.

I got up to clear the Vodka stain on my gown. On the door, I almost ran into Will. "Happy Birthday Mam!", he smiled. I looked at him and shook his proffered hands. Behind Will, stood he. I cornered my eyes to look at him. He was staring at me emotionlessly. My breathing increased. He looked weird. Above everything, I was still annoyed, and so I excused myself to use the restroom.

On my return, I found him talking to Maria. I frowned. That's my best friend. I am supposed to talk to her. I trudged and sat beside Adam, taking another Vodka. I felt his eyes staring me. I was totally prepared to not give him a damn.

Will and his workers bought a big box and placed it on the table. He opened it. It was a huge cake. "Happy Birthday Ms Runaway" was carved on it. I melted. "NO! Stop it, he will say sorry and only then you'll melt!", I snapped myself.

"Come Miss. Its just a complementary", he smiled.

"I know this is his idea. Why doesn't he just speak.", I puffed my face.

I peered through my hair, he was staring at me. I felt relaxed. He was allowed to look at me. Maria on the other hand understood the vibes between us and she blushed. I blushed in return. She came behind me, "all this is so cute!", she swooned. "No it isn't! You're on my side!", I pulled her arm. "Always MD!", she winked. I cringed. She dragged me all the way to the giant cake.

I kept staring at the marvellous piece of work. "Happy Birthday Ms Runaway!", he whispered. I turned around all of a sudden and my body brushed against his...

Now I still wonder why RK is like he is. Why doesn't he show any emotions, other than anger and yet he does gestures something like that for Madhu. I mean not letting them pay for the party held there. The cake. That was probably my favorite part Happy Birthday Ms. Runaway. 😆 And he whispered it to her. Was it becasue Madhu left India and went to Australia? Okay I won't give any insane analyses like I did last time. Maybe next time, when I know more what is going on.

I just want to mention. In the previous part we left off with RK open his eyes, looking tensed and Madhu backing away from him. And now she was waiting for him at his home. What happened in between? Did he just take off? With no explanation? And she let him?

I just can't wait for the next update. Thanks for the PM.
