regarding Ria track, then i read in TC article that Ria was introduced to become the heroine opposite RK...and i found it a potential track...coz love story gets stagnant after the marriage and consumption so...she cud become the vamp later n add tadka to their love story 😆...and it wudnt have look illogical coz being a superstar Rk is supposed to work with other actresses
but then ST scrapped out his idea...and GH came with this lame bina sir pyer ka KRK track...which was bound to fail

Agreed Ria track had excellent potential if they had taken the trouble to develop it properly. The story needed a vamp.

But they converted it into a foolish, unsuccessful and self pitying RK and the super woman Madhu. The vamp angle could have easily been shown without RK's degradation and failure also.

GH never realised that he had created a larger than life character in the form of RK and any attempt to degrade it will never gel with the audience.

He assumed that the key to TRPs were public sympathy for MB and persisted in trying to get it even at the cost of RK's character assassination.

Right Najat. Gul manages to connect all the ends to give a tightly woven story while in MB there have been so many lose ends dangling in all directions that the entire story fell apart.

@NewsroomPlus: TRP system is not reliable and shocking revelation about the system, which doesn't give accurate data http://t.co/SOFFDRFil2

^^^ Don't get worried, they are saying stuff which has been known for years. Not even one point is new.😕
And TRP/TVM etc is just a way to gauge viewership.
But satellite TV has been in India for 20+ years in which to see which serials were how wellknown and watched, and to see how that corresponded with ratings.
Also, this system gives the channels an excuse while dealing with sponsors, that the ratings don't exactly reveal the actual viewership.
If more extensive coverage of viewership is done, it would get slanted in favour of majority-audience in a way that wouldn't have the excuse of being not precise.
Imagine most extreme case scenario, that every TV-watching home in India be part of the gauging for which show gets watched how much. Majority-audience would sweep through, and we'd end up with the programming favouring them more if the point is how much what sort of show is watched.
But regardless of all this, the viewership being gauged is supposed to increase soon, as per arrangements that were started off last year. We may truly end up with more of a democratic situation, with the majority-audience's opinion weighing in more - which is probably very much not what is being hoped for.
And commercials are to get people to buy the products advertised during the episode's ad-breaks. Those products are generally stuff bought in the same country, usually stuff that can be bought in the neighbourhoods or cities. So ratings matter to negotiate the worth of the adslots.
It's like an expensive billboard on the side of an extremely busy highway being priced not because every person would be expected to look at it, but that even some people looking would be enough of a number to be worthwhile.

Guys, the previous TVM was 2.3.
Has there been any official word about the TVM for MEIEJ of last week?
