Episode 617 Discussion: 4th July 2014, Friday

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is
  1. It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter.
  2. We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
  3. It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
  4. And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Note for All posting reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Please read the pointers below for posting on EDT.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. This is anentertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. Neither is ranting or bashing actors or makers of the show. Please exercise judgment.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread.
  1. Page 1 - post only reviews (which can be one liners - if you wish.) Also, please don't clutter up page 1 with multiple posts - give others a chance to post their reviews.
  2. Many reviewers add an "ETA" to their original post, if they want to make an additional point soon after posting.
  3. Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more and the discussion becomes irrelevant to the topic on hand, please take your conversation with your buddies to chat clubs, pm mode etc.
  4. The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating /whining / complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum
  5. When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.
  6. Regulate the font size and colors. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters, or multi-colored font for no special reason.
  7. Quoting Policy: refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. Pick out the parts that you like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, and multiple quoting makes it very hard to scroll though.
  8. Feel free to post links of other members posts which had been "delightful read" towards analysis of episodic event/s or character analysis.

Can I say that it is fairly annoying to watch these BDs in the show, as it takes its last gasps? Can our leads not figure out a way to at least share a frame or two, since the end is near? Its unfair to the show's makers, and unfair to the viewers who are still watching (including yours truly.)

Nothing much to say about the episode - predictably, Bhanu is exposed, pen drive saves the day (JM is naturally the smart one.) And looks like crusading JM is now going to get justice for the bhabhi.

So Raja-Rani's prince/princess is on the way!!! Can we say "dil garden garden ho gaya"? ...Anyways..nothing to talk about episodes lately. Am just happy that this 'crap' is going to end soon.

Its very painful ... what to say? A epic classic show once is completely transformed to epic worst show in very short time just because of issues between NF, Colors, Actors and what not... Everybody played their part in ruining this show.

And just wanted know is there any way we can reach Raja-Rani to open the secret of their parents because these CVs are gone brainless.

At the end of yesterday's episode (Thursday, 3rd July 2014), when JM thought "Abh dekhna, sachchaai sabh ke saamne aayegi.", I was totally sure that the damn proof would have disappeared.

But fortunately the precap prudently showed Bhanu being exposed, so that the mass-audience - with experience last year of seeing the antagonists winning at every point - would hopefully not promptly switch the channel as soon as the cliche of 'disappeared proof' was shown.

Suspense is directly worthwhile or worthless depending on whether people are more sure of seeing a disappointing or pleasing outcome.

With so many consecutive tracks having habituated the mass-audience to expect disappointment via triumphant antagonists and defeated helpless leads, any suspense may perhaps count on having channels switched since mass-viewership may be counted on to rely on their experience of more than a year in the series, guess that the leads are about to be defeated by the antagonists yet again for the umpteenth time in MEIEJ's 'alag che' tracks, and switch the channel to a variety of other programme options where the leads do win occasionally rather than for a few minutes at the end of a track.

Today's episode showed the bridge between those two points from the end of yesterday's episode.
The proof had been disappeared, but Bhanu did get exposed.
Raja having done most of the plotting and heroic fighting, Madhu finally made decisive contribution to the ideas in the couple's plotting by finally presenting the copy of tech proof at the last moment. The leads having thus - albeit in a rather ramshackle way - worked together to expose the antagonist.
How Bhanu's and Raja's tech know-how dipped and rose to facilitate the situation was ignorable, to have both leads involved in the exposing of the antagonist.

Was absolutely relieved that this Madhu wasn't made to repeat the previous Madhu's folly of forgiving Kukku and Dipali on the few occasions when RK had been willing to totally throw them out.

Faguni and JM - after all the bizarrely idiotic speeches they have both been scripted with about not killing killers and understanding killers' prospective widows - seem to have had their heads come opportunely out of the clouds and back to terra firma - thank heaven -, when it came to a known man (whom they both detest) getting shot immediately or hanged afterward and a woman (whom they both don't particularly care about) being the prospective widow in this context.
Praying that both noble-hearted women stick to that sensible decision this once. So damn tired of almost all the antagonists of the series getting to stick around in the lead couple's home.

Hadn't expected JM's pregnancy before today's episode, since it didn't seem necessary until this episode.

But when JM was shown retaining her coldness towards Raja (and thereby losing the chance for any mass-approval of the female lead even at this late point in the series), it stood to reason that there would have to be something to hold JM in the relationship.

Had a moment of fright at the prospect of a boredom-marathon of JM's stated intent of crusading for the boring Faguni character.
Really didn't want that to be the reason JM would stick with the relationship.

But the precap has given JM a reason to stick with the marriage.
Hopefully the CVs won't have her now deciding to get an abortion, regardless of whether she changes her mind about going through with it or not.
Her character has already managed a consistent trackrecord since the second week of May 2014 that her every action and reaction would appall mass-audience and ensure track-closure, since marriage-repudiating spirited confrontational bahu can be considered an unreassuring guarantee of sending the needed massive majority-audience hurrying to switch the channel.

Please, CVs, no more messing around at least now. Please?
Firstly, there was no need to script that needless marital rape track, when it's a track that has always in its many versions got support for the female lead only for her *not* progressively crusading but rather wonderful mass-support and viewership for her regressively reconciling and the couple uniting with not more than one or two family-members knowing of the incident making it easier to get past it.
The track in the crusading way it was presented here was with a certainty of flopping as it would need crores of mass-audience to go against their own
sensibilities and their consistent trackrecord of viewership-reaction just to suit the channel/CVs - a definitively unlikely thing.

Hoping desperately that there's no depressing further talk of abortion or separation.
Let the couple reconcile and get together soon, with no miscarriage or other cliched means of getting rid of the baby (with its existence being thus provenly just so that it can die as a sympathy-gambit like in last year's idiotic 'miscarriage' track).
The channel/CVs have effectively proven the sheer attachment to depressing negativity and never-ending conflict in every consecutive track for this series before and after MEIEJ's PH's split.
Just hoping they stick with positivity now, with the couple on an equal basis rather than their usual pattern of having the female lead behave in a way mass-audience doesn't consider even remotely paragon-like and yet feted by all series-characters as a paragon.
Tracks-forcefeeding and characters-extolling has never yet been effective in this series or any series if it contravenes the mostly conservative nonfandoms mass-audience's years of unvaryingly consistent viewership tastes.
If it is to happen, it happens without the characters saying it, not with engineered-dialogues inadvertently highlighting what points the series failed to get mass-empathy for while viewership stays poor and proves mass-audience doesn't share the dialogued-opinion of the extolled actions and contexts.

Most serials have their lead couple stand against villains and vamps.
We've had the male lead looking like a villain and the female lead looking like a vamp, both simultaneously and taking it in turns.
Hope they are shown in a mass-pleasing way as a couple together, rather than yet another forcefeeding of mass-discomfitingly untraditional female lead extolled in engineered-dialogues for factors that CVs choose to ignore the mass-audience's sensibilities for. Those viewership-tastes and the attached mass-viewership remains steadfast, rendering the dialogues unrelatable to the mass-audience and thereby confoundingly backfiring in the track-crafting.
Really hope that the channel/CVs give a pleasant surprise to the viewers and sponsors by finally presenting a track that might be expected to have decent viewership, rather than
consecutive mass-unappealing tracks and no promos for the past over 40 days.
It would perhaps incidentally be a pleasant surprise for the viewers who have stuck it out with the series and the channel if crusading tones are avoided and logic is jettisoned (as so many times before for far more depressing reasons) to permit the couple a happy familial setting.
Hoping for this one thing, since it can be managed within the current budget and would be a great deal more mass-appealing and pleasing to watch than what has been endured for so many months. Please?

@bold...my thoughts exactly.VD's b'day was on 28th June(last sat) and DD was occupied with her Matrix photo shoot last week...but its the penultimate epi this week and still they haven't managed to shoot scenes together!!!????😲😲if that doesn't smell fishy I don't know what does. Why do I have a bad feeling that tomorrow will be the last epi or worse still, even if it does run for another week we won't be seeing DVD share screen space again. After adoring this onscreen couple for 2 years I hope we,the fans, get a better and more fitting end to this show.

Ya something is fishy, but it happened recently, at the time of jhalak hosting. Before that we had together scenes and we had even off screen photos. Suddenly all disappeared. So last three weeks, there is something seriously happened between DVD.

Dince, watch E24's segment clarifying against the allegation of non-payment of crew.
The segment is interspersed with behind-the-scenes of DVD looking very comfortable.
And the previous claim about their being at loggerheads was also at the time when behind-the-scenes had showed rather very much to the contrary.
A rumour denied repeatedly and still raised, one either believes it, disbelieves it or lets it be. It's not the duty of the leads to clarify repeatedly.
There are those who might wish to see them closer or more distant. That's not binding upon the the actors.

And so many tracks flopped because of foreseeably mass-unappealing ideas, despite both leads having been in almost every scene week after week.
They do their scenes. And the track is messy enough that the actors being in every scene knowing their effort is wasted won't salvage tracks that can be considered guaranteed to contravene mass-audience's years of unvaryingly consistent viewership tastes and sensibilities.

ETA: The damn net was blinking, so just typed and posted without doublechecking when it came on. But saw this morning that it looks embarrassingly abrupt. Sorry for the inadvertent, Dince.
