Chapter 16(RK's POV)
I got dressed in a tight white shirt and denim jeans. First day of shooting. I put on my sunglasses and rubber some gel in my hair.
"Looking good RK..." I smirked in the mirror.
I grabbed my phone and jacket and went downstairs. I wanted to check on Anu first. She was talking to Madhu when I went inside her room. Madhu looked at me and left the room. She didn't say a word.
"Going to shooting Rishu?"
"Yep."
"You're looking so dashing. Ufff...if I wasn't your sister I would be all over you." She laughed out loud.
"How are you so energetic in this state?" I tickled her on her belly.
"Stop Rishu!" She yelled. I got reminded of our childhood.
I stopped ticking her. She took a few deep breaths and fixed her hair.
"Why don't you take Madhu with you? I bet she would want to see your shooting." She winked.
I could apologize to her now. I should ask her.
"That's a good idea." I said.
"Have fun." She giggled.
I found Madhu in the kitchen, chopping up some vegetables with a sharp knife. She looked upset while doing so. I was confused. Why was she so upset after I kissed her?
"Madhu...will you come to my shooting with me?"
She smacked the knife down on the cutting board and glared at me.
"Why? So that you can kiss me again when no one is looking?! So that I will fall for you and then you can break my heart later?! Like some toy?!" She spat at me.
I looked at her. What was she going at?
"Madhu what are you saying? I would never do that." I argued.
"I don't want to hear anything! Just get away from me RK. And have fun at your worthless shooting!" She hissed.
I lost my cool then. I grabbed her shoulders.
"Worthless shooting!? This shooting brought my sister and I off the streets. This shooting gave me my life back! You'll never understand!" I yelled, pushing her back and storming off to the car.
(At Sitara Studio)
I cooled down a little, greeting Mr. Bakshi at the door.
"Hey Mr. Bakshi, how are you doing?" I asked, shaking his hand. He looked like one of my previous producers.
"Doing great RK sir. It is such an honor to do my film with you. I can't describe my excitement." He said.
"So is everything set?"
"Yep...I'll just get the shot ready and call you."
"Sure. Bittuji I'll be in my vanity."
"Yes chief." He then went off with Mr. Bakshi to finalize dates.
I climbed into my vanity and plopped down on the couch. I grabbed the script on the table and began to read it. I didn't read the title before. It was "Ishq aur Junoon." My mind deviated from the script to my fight with Madhu. She was just too much sometimes. What had I done to hurt her? Did she really find that accidental kiss offensive?
A soft knock on my door repeated a couple times before I was coherent to hear it. Was it Madhu? I sprang up from the couch and swung the door open. It wasn't her. It was Mr. Bakshi and some girl.
"RK, I'd like to introduce you to your heroine, Miss Dipali Bhatia." She waved, then hugged me.
"Nice to meet you Dipali. Are you a newcomer?"
"Well of course she is." Bakshi interrupted.
"I wasn't asking you." My right kameena side was coming out. "Come inside Dipali..." I paused. "And Mr. Bakshi, I want that shot ready in five, else pack up!" I slammed the door in his face.
Dipali's phone rang as soon as we were alone.
"Sorry I need to take this." She walked out.
"Go ahead." I said.
(Armaan's POV)
"Is everything set?" I asked.
"Yes...he won't be able to escape this time. Even Madhu isn't with him."
"Good...don't mess up or I'll cut your payment."
"I won't give you a chance to complain." He hung up.
(Madhu's POV)
"Madhu, Anu wants you to give this to RK sir." The servant handed me a locket.
"What's this?"
"It's sir's good luck charm. He forgot it in a hurry today."
"Can you go give it to him?" I didn't want to face him now.
"I would, but I need to go home early as my daughter is ill and there is no other servant here. Could you please do me this one favor?"
"Alright." I huffed. I grabbed my purse from the table and left.
(At the studio)
I stepped out of the rickshaw and approached the gate to the studio. The guard greeted me and let me inside. There were spit boys and crew running about with equipment and other things. I went to the door, the guard showing me the way in. I wandered the filled hallways. Some crewmen even pointed me to where RK was. I found them all shortly. RK was getting his hair ready for a shot.
It was a fancy restaurant setting, with fancy seats and tables, complete with a dangling chandelier. It sparkled and glowed with the light coming in all directions. It seemed a little loose though. I tapped a spot boy's shoulder.
"That chandelier looks like it's loose. You should get that fixed." I said.
"Oh no...it's fine. Mr. Bakshi wanted it that way. It's not going to fall or anything. I checked the hooks and wire."
"Are you sure?" I asked apprehensively. He nodded and walked away.
The lights dimmed and RK and his heroine got in position. I watched from a small distance, my eyes still on that chandelier...
