Mahabharat is an Indian Hindi-language mythological television drama series on STAR Plus based on the Sanskrit epicMahabharata.^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6] It started broadcasting on 16 September 2013 on STAR Plus.

It has been produced by Swastik Productions Pvt. Ltd and stars Saurabh Raj Jain as Krishna, Shaheer Sheikh as Arjuna, Pooja Sharma as Draupadi, Aham Sharma as Karna and Arav Chowdhary as Bhishma.^[8]^[9]

@ ..N3rDyM0R0N.. and @arianagrande -- U guys r right..my bad...actually mahabharat was launched n produced by EKTA but, midway after 100 episodes or something she backed out...there was an article too...it totally slipped out of my mind...

but still...colors will think 10 times before putting a new show there, coz, in the long run that show will have to compete mahabharat and tarak mehta 😉

i think Mahabharat from the first was not Ekta's . You are talking about Jodha Akbar , another historical show . It was an Ekta show and after some time , she backed out . But its still said that though Ekta's name is not shown in the banner she is still the producer .
