[Chapter 1]

Guns & Bikinis

In an abandoned corner of the Juhu beach sat a band of misfits. Open beer bottles stacking on top of arms containers, some empty guns, a bonfire, and gossip galore. The smoke of cigarettes was making the boss cough but was tolerated with some passive resistance. He sat far away from the smokers drinking his whiskey, only responding if he really had to but keeping the group united nonetheless. When an adamant idiot tried shoving a cigarette in his hand, he responded by trying to change the topic.

"Eh chotu, aaj dinner mein kya hai re?" The all too tinted sunglasses came off as he offered his best glare to a now terrified subordinate.

"RK bhai, bhai...b.b.b.bb..."

"Bak be...", he continued sipping his whiskey with a care.

"Bikini babe...over there". His jaw had already dropped to floor, he was just waiting for his boss to follow.

"Kya be, konsa teeka mara hai aaj ke you are seeing boobs in every corner", RK shook his head at the pathetic state of chottu. When would this boy grow up and realize there is more to life that the mirage of a femme fatale? Oh to heck with, RK was also interested in looking.

"Alright, where is she? I doubt there is really someone so stupid to go for a swim in my territory in the dead of the night...oh teri!" He dropped everything and ran toward the water shouting "doob rahi eh, doob rahi eh bewakoof" along the way.

The woman was walking right into the sea, her body submerging deeper and deeper in the waters. She was soon within RK's reach and he pulled her to shore despite her struggle otherwise. He sprawled her limp body on his lap as his minions ogled over the glistening flesh.

"Go get help you good-for-nothings!" he screamed.

"B..b..b..bhai"

"WHAT?"

"We can't call the police".

RK thought for a minute and then went in for mouth-to-mouth with his posy cheering him on. He glared at his men and then said, "chup be! Majedar part toh abhi baaki hai!" and began CPR on chest.

The rescue mission became another part of their night's jest and everyone calmed down as the girl became partly conscious. They were all taking turns staring at her bosom and her dazed face. She would blink once or twice and fall back into unconsciousness. This continued for the rest of the night but RK refused to let go of her body seated on top of his. The men were afraid to say anything but even the clueless chottu observed his boss making figure eights on the girl's abdomen.

"Ghar challen kya bhai?" a timid chottu finally asked at the crack of dawn.

"You all go ahead, I will take the bikini with me. What a nuisance! I had to fly to Delhi for a meet in two hours". He whined and the men saw an opportunity.

"We are here boss, we'll take her".

"Abe chup! Boss is alive and well. I know your evil motives. She hasn't seen anything so I will wait for her to wake up and then let her go. You know women are trouble these days with the police cracking in and all".

What an excuse! They all thought the thought but would never dare taunt their bhai.

"Okay boss, we're out! You have a good time with the bikini".

In response, RK only threw a poorly aimed rock at his men.

---------------

The girl woke up to the sight of fake stars illuminating a high ceiling. Her clothes were no longer on her body but a strange puke colored fabric was wrapped around her instead. On top was a quilt the weight of two dead horses, the only plausible reason for her excessive perspiration. She looked around the room for a sign of life but only found high end furniture and vintage guns. What a strange sight! She slipped out of the covers and made her way into the living room, dragging the puke colored fabric along with her. The house was quiet, too quiet for her liking so she started humming classic Hindi songs as her fingers traced the walls of the spacious apartment.

"Anybody home? Zindagi ik safar hai...anyone home? Yahan kal kya...lalala".

Suddenly, a force pulled her in by wrist, twisting and turning until she was standing shoulder to shoulder with the tall frame of an angry looking man.

"Is this your place?"

"Aur nahi toh teri maa ki hai?" he fired back.

"Ho bhi sakta hai. I don't remember my mother you see". She was calm as a monk.

He increased the pressure on her nerves but she stood numb in his embrace.

"Let us see how much you take. Speak up or you'll die here tonight!"

She did nothing to retort, only blinking every minute bearing a confused look.

"Bak ladki!"

"Eh?"

Her arm was bruised and ready to bleed if he kept up his actions but she did not look worried.

"Dimaag hil gaya kya?"
"Pehle hila tha. Ab theek hai. Atleast that's what they say. I don't know yo, I would like it to go back to crazy. I like being crazy, you know?"

This cliched filmy scene only drove RK to more rage. He pushed on the nearby couch waiting for her to feel his terror but no such response arrived.

"What? What do you want me to do? I thought I was dead but I guess not. I will try tomorrow I suppose. Many curses for saving me Mr. Wannabe-hero. I would have liked to have succeeded this time. I ever had rocks tied to my feet for extra caution and you just had to come ruin...I am sorry, save the day. It is people like you that make dying difficult for us. I mean would it kill you let a burden on earth leave? The population is off the charts as is, let us go if we so desire".

"You want to die?" RK pulled out his gun.

"Yes!"

"Fine!" He placed the gun on her forehead, getting ready to pull the trigger.

She closed her eyes, breathing in one last breath and screamed. "Do it!"

"..."

"Do it!"

"..."

"Pull the f**king trigger, you coward!"

She tried taking a hold of his gun but he wouldn't give. His strong grip was no match for her clumsy movements to reach the trigger. She spit on his face, stooping as low as she could to get him agitated but he was as unmoved as a statue.

Suddenly, his movements became active. He threw the gun as far away from her as possible and pounced on her. Her limbs buried underneath his weight, she was helpless as can be.

"If you want to die, do it yourself. But as long you're with me, I am going to fight it! Kill me first and then you're welcome to drop dead as you please".

His breathing became heavy above her as he released his pent up frustration. To top off all the madness, she only looked amused by this strange turn of events.
