When I first started watching MEIEJ I felt a lot of things were wrong with Drashti's acting, and I felt yes overacting and her voice also she used to struggle to get the right tone to transfer the right emotion just with her words, the emotions she has shown excitement when she has family around her (she does very well), angry she does very well her expression sells it for her but when she cries, sure she cried and she was struggling to speak because of her tears, but that was all that was being transferred but when I tried to explain what I had seen in other actresses I think many just said you want her to scream when she's angry or be yelling (it's not what I mean), but I guess to say transferring a natural feeling through your voice, is the right way of explaining what I'm talking about. other actresses when they cry the pain in the voice you feel it.
Later on I understood that in MEIEJ painful moments in the scene are dealt with strangely, all that pain but all of a sudden she's all cheery (that is the CV's and script's fault) So perhaps we as the audience weren't appreciating that painful time because of that. But I feel Drashti won me over when she fell in love with RK 23rd November 2012 episode, after that meri pareshan epi, the little smiles she was having and RK asking her why she is smiling it was endearing, so I began to accept her as a capable actress but prior to that you see the epi. and you say it's overacting, not natural, but then you realise it's natural for her, as in real life that's how she would be in that situation and the director realised that and let her do what is comfortable for her as it will look natural on her to act that way. Perhaps Kishwer and her friend or fan will realise this later on.
