Hi Pritt. Hi everyone. God, I have missed this forum SO MUCH. I finally got an internet connection that will not kick me out every two minutes.

I am glad u will continue to write for RK & Madhu. I have not seen the show for over a week as my dumb sister does not have ANY indian channels. Good grief!

And because of the bad internet connection, I have hardly had a chance to come on the board.

I am looking forward to reading your story.

Still feel miserable that RK's character is ending - I read some posts and it just depresses me.

Again, thanks for continuing.

This will be going in days, not chapters! So the first day after the explosion, the second, etc. Day one will have multiple parts to it I believe. Anyways, I'm glad you all like it so far. Thank you.

Day One - Awaking

It was noon the day after the explosion. Madhu lay on her hospital bed with a blanket covering her body from shoulders to toes. Her face had gone pale over the night, as though she had been drained of all her blood. Her eyes were closed and she looked weaker than she ever had before. Radha sat by her bedside, no longer holding her grandchild. She had given the responsibility of baby Madhu to Bittuji and his wife who had luckily been missing from the night of the party celebrating RK and Madhu's daughter. Radha had been alternating between visits and it was Madhu's turn. Tears in her eyes, she placed her hand on top of Madhu's. Madhu's eye began to twitch, alerting Radha instantly. Madhu's mouth opened, as her eyes remained closed. A whisper began to escape her lips slowly. Radha leaned in closer, unable to hear what her daughter-in-law was muttering in a quiet whisper.

"R..."

"Madhu?"

"...K..."

Her body had been still until that moment. She suddenly began to squirm in her bed. Knowing the squirming would be dangerous due to Madhu's injuries, Radha called for the doctor.

"Madhu! DOCTOR!"

A doctor rushed into the room and headed straight towards Madhu's bedside. A nurse held on to Radha's shoulders and directed her outside.

"We'll need you to stand outside please."

"But...please don't let anything happen to her."

"Ma'am, we're trying our best."

The nurse closed the door on Radha and slid the curtain closed. The doctor began injecting a fluid into Madhu's body through a needle in her hand. Within seconds her body became still once again but her lips did not give up.

"R...K..."

His name refused to leave her lips. A nurse suddenly rushed into the hospital room.

"Doctor! Mr. Bhatia is growing critical!"

Without a second glance at Madhu, the doctor ran out of her room with the nurses following closely behind.

Another hour passed before Madhu's eyes began to twitch again. This time she followed her eye's movements and attempted to pull them open. The pulling of her eyelids was apparent but she seemed unsuccessful. Her eyelids felt heavier than they ever had before. She gave up for a moment, closing her eyes and laying relaxed. Then a minute later her eyes began to flicker open. Her eyes continued to flicker against the light overhead. Radha opened the hospital room door and walked towards Madhu's bedside. Upon noticing Madhu attempting to open her eyes, Radha instantly turned down the lights in the room. Madhu suddenly screamed, startling Radha.

"RK!"

Madhu gasped and her eyes shot open. She attempted to get up but upon noticing tubes attached to her, she froze. She looked herself up and down, a blanket covering her. Then her eyes slowly rose to stare at Radha.

"M...Ma..."

"Madhu, shh, you need to rest."

"RK...where's RK...?"

"Madhu, rest. Please."

"Madhu, where's Madhu?!"

"Bittuji and his wife are taking care of her...she's okay."

"Ma, I need to see RK!"

She attempted to get up again.

"Madhu! I'll tell you! Please lay down."

Radha, who had been attempting to maintain her composure, broke down into tears.

"Ma?! What happened to RK!"

Radha sobbed, wiping at her tears, and then spoke in a shaky voice.

"He's...in the ICU..."

Madhu's eyes went wide, tears forming, threatening to fall.

"No."

Radha looked up at her daughter-in-law.

"No. Nothing can happen to my RK."

Madhu raised her arm to wipe away her tear. Just as she was about to place her arm back down, she noticed something. She did a second take of her arm, only to see a wrap covering her entire forearm. A look of confusion crossed her face. Her eyes glanced back towards the blanket covering her body. Her eyes became wet again. She frantically glanced up at Radha who was wiping her own tears away.

"Ma..."

"Hm?"

"I need to see RK."

Putting two and two together, she remembered the bomb blast. Realizing she had burns on her body, she needed to see her husband.

"Madhu...the doctors said you need complete bed rest for another day."

"Ma, I need to see him right now."

Radha stared down at her daughter-in-law. Knowing Madhu wouldn't back down easily, Radha nodded her head.

"I'll go see the doctor."

Radha stood, wiping at tears that were forming in her eyes again. She left the room as Madhu watched. Madhu closed her eyes, remembering their last dance and a smile crossed her face. Then the sudden explosion, her eyes shot open again. Her heart raced faster than she had ever felt it race before. The last time she'd felt this way was when she had realized she'd stabbed RK with a real knife. She heard the door to her room creak open and her eyes instantly fell upon the doctor who was walking into the room.

"Ah, Mrs. Kundra. How do you feel?"

"I want to see RK."

"I need to do a few checkups on you before you can get up."

"I need to see him now!"

"Please try to understand."

Madhu fell silent as she glanced towards Radha who gestured for Madhu to let the doctor do the checkups. She let herself relax on the bed and let the doctor proceed with the checkups.

"Mrs. Kundra, you've suffered third-degree burns on your right forearm and the back of your lower left leg. Besides that you have minor first- and second-degree burns, which should heal soon with the ointment we've provided you."

Madhu seemed indifferent to her own injuries with only thoughts of RK on her mind.

"Can I go see RK now?"

"Yes. But we'll be sending a nurse with you. And before you go, I need you to know that Mr. Kundra has suffered from head trauma. We assume his head hit something with such force that he does have a head injury right now. He hasn't gained consciousness as of yet, so we're not sure what deficits the injury has caused, but we're sure he's out of danger. He's still in the ICU though, just to make sure he receives the treatment he needs. There are also police guards guarding yours and Mr. Kundra's rooms. It seems that you've been victim to a bomb blast."

Tears streamed down Madhu's face, as she grew frantic thinking about RK. A nurse came to her bed side to help her sit up. It took all her energy to sit up in bed, that too with the help of the nurse. Out of breath, Madhu refused to give up. She held onto the pole holding onto her IV, which she was not allowed to detach from herself. With the help of the pole on one side and the nurse on the other, she stood. She looked towards Radha who looked distraught and then towards the door to her room.

"I'm coming RK...I'm coming."

Oh my god Pritt this is beautiful and so painful! Please continue! I hope RK is okay!

God! RK must be worse I fear. Lord! I loved the update! Continue soon Pritt!
