it was really good to read the arshi stuff also becoz this ff just doesnt deal with rishbala but its actually a good story with great characters so i dint mind reading a whole lot of arshi this time..

and no dear i dint read the rest of the parts in MD...as i want to keep the surprise factor still on...if i read it then i wont feel like reading it all over again in this forum..so.

Aww! Thank you! 😳 I have a tendency to focus on one thing on an update and sometimes on just a couple or even an individual. 😳 But I am so glad you and my other readers do not mind if some of my updates focus on others beside Rishbala. 😊

Haha...Since I haven't written any new chapter, I will get everyone caught up on IF in no time with MeD. 😳

Chapter 35 - Bedlamite and his Bottle of Brandy

Malik House

Other then soft buzz of the TV, occasional murmurs and giggles, Malik house is relatively quiet. Mima and Babyta are cuddled up on the couch watching of course a Ranbir Kapoor movie.

They are both inordinately pleased with themselves for the roles they played to get Khushi to the conservatory. More specifically, to get her into Arnav's waiting arms. Tara knew her mama was upset with her daddy and that's unacceptable. She wants her mama and daddy together so they can be a family. She wants a family just like her friends in school. They have a mama and daddy living under the same roof.

Madhu just wanted Arnav to grovel and beg Khushi for forgiveness for his blind stupidity. She also knows Khushi's happiness lies with Arnav, so might as well give the bounder another chance. And truth be told, Madhu likes Arnav, even if he is an idiot. But then again all men are when it comes to emotional matters.

Tara (at the end of the movie, stifles a yawn): Mima...will mama be angry with me?

Madhu (kissing the top of Tara's head): No babyta. Your mama won't be angry with you. She knows her baby would never do anything to hurt her. You did it out of love because you want to see your mama and daddy happy.

Tara (giggles): I hope daddy made up with mama. So mama won't be cross with him anymore.

Madhu (smiles): I am sure your daddy is doing his best.

They are both startled by the loud banging on their front door. Silently, Madhu grabs Tara's hand and slowly leave the family room. They encounter Nargis who is staring at the door and at the loud noise coming from behind it, as if a bull is trying to slam through the door. Though terrified, Nargis is armed with a rolling pin and Madhu grabs the nearest vase in her hand as she holds tightly on to Tara with her other hand. Madhu's bodyguards appear in the hall with their guns drawn. One of the guard positions himself against the wall, near the door. The other stands in front of Madhu and Tara, he signals Nargis to open the door.

Finding courage in their number and weapons in their hands, Nargis slowly opens the door. RK, with a bottle of brandy in one hand, gets ready to slam his fist down again on the poor, abused door. His fist connects with air as Nargis jumps back in fear. RK scratches his head in confusion and looks up and notices that the door is now open. The occupants look terrified but yet armed with weapons as if he is a villain intent on bedeviling, nay, murdering them. He stares at Madhu's MIB and squint his eyes. Are they pointing their guns at him?

The guards lower their guns, mumble their apologies to RK and disappears as quickly as them came. They have no wish to face the music for daring to point guns at their employer.

RK (weaves through the door and slurs): What is...this? (Pointing at the rolling pin in Nargis's hand and vase in Madhu's) I am not...a villain. (Thumping his chest) Hero...I am a hero. (Hiccups) Good-looking, charming hero. (Looks at Madhu for confirmation) Hein na Biwi?

Madhu, in disgust, slams the vase back down and glares at RK.

Madhu (hisses): How dare you RK? Come here drunk. (Nods her head in Tara's direction) You are scaring her!

Tara is hiding behind Madhu. She peaks up at RK with wide, set eyes. Babyta has never seen her Superstar in this condition and she does't know what to make of it.

RK (unsteadily bends down to speak to Tara): My little starling...(hiccup) Tell your mima...(hiccup) that your Superstar does not scare you.

RK tries to pat Tara's cheeks but ends up inadvertently slapping her. She pulls back terrified and starts bawling. Madhu pulls her away from RK and mutters soothing words of comfort.

RK (unsteadily stands up and scratches his head): What's going? (Hiccup) Why...why...is she crying? (Takes another swig of brandy and speaks to it) What's going on? Why is everyone crying on me today? (Pats the bottle) You're not going to start crying (hiccup) on me now too, are you?

Madhu (wipes the last of Tara's tears and speaks to an immovable Nargis): It's her bedtime. Please take her upstairs. (Desperately) Now.

Nargis nods her head in agreement and skirts her way around RK to avoid contact with his madness. She drops the rolling pin on the floor, picks up the still upset Tara and carries her upstairs and away from the drama.

As soon as Tara is out of hearing distance she grabs RK's collar and shakes him.

Madhu (growls): How dare you RK?!? You get drunk, arrive at my door steps, terrify my babyta and then you slap her?!? What the hell do you think you are doing?!?

RK (forlornly): I am all alone. (Hiccup) Everyone leaves me.

He takes another swig of brandy.

Madhu (grabs the bottle, slams it down next to the now empty vase and snaps at RK): No more drinking! Now tell me clearly what the hell happened.

RK (sits cross legged on the floor): Reena left. (Hiccup) Maa left with her too.

Madhu sighs and sits down on the floor with him too.

Madhu (prompts RK to continue): And?

RK (shrugs his shoulders): Maa is very angry with me. She knew something was not right with Shaan and didn't want Reena to marry him. But she couldn't do anything (hiccup) about Reena's stubborn desire to marry the bounder without a concrete reason. She tried though and told Reena she is too young but my sister is stubborn just like me. One track mind. Maa said that I should have stopped the wedding since (hiccup) I knew what he was like and I could have convinced her to leave Shaan.

Madhu (agrees): Yes you should have.

RK (shakes a finger at Madhu): Mean Biwi. (Hiccup) Kicking a man when he is down. (Continues) Maa said I should have told her (hiccup) so she could have faught harder and stopped Reena from making the mistake. (Drooped shoulders) I told her that I will help Reena (hiccup) get a divorce. But Reena doesn't want anything from me. She just wants to move out. Maa went (hiccup) because...she said I betrayed her trust. (In a very sad voice) I am not the son she thought I should be.

Madhu (sighs): RK you should have at least told maa. Can you imagine the pain and how helpless she's feeling now especially since Reena's situation could have been avoided?

RK (hiccup): What? (Thumping his chest) You think I am happy about this? (Hiccup) Yes...I should have spoken up. Yes I know I am stupid. Yes I am terrible (hiccup) brother and son. (Waves his hands in a wide arc and asks sadly) But am I that bad? (Hiccup) That they would abandon me?

Madhu (in a gentle voice): And that's why you came here?

RK (nods his head and then tilts it to the side): I don't like to be alone. (Picks up Madhu's hands and holds it to his chest) You won't be leave me too, will you (hiccup) Madhu? I will be lost.

Madhu stands up and helps RK up. She wraps her arm around his waist, puts his arm on her shoulders and pulls him into the family room. Walks him to the couch and helps him lie down.

Madhu (grabs a fleece blanket from behind the couch): No I won't leave you RK. (Putting the blanket on RK) What you need is a good night of sleep. (Scolds sternly) But remember this is the last time you can barge in completely drunk. I won't tolerate it again!

RK (grabs Madhu's hands): Promise me (hiccup) Madhu that you won't leave me.

Madhu gently removes RK's hold on her hand. She tucks him in properly and gently pushes his hair from his forehead.

Madhu (softly): Shh...now be a good boy. Close your eyes and go to sleep.

RK follows Madhu's command and closes his eyes. Madhu's kisses his forehead and walks out.

It's hard to remain angry with him when he is so lost and helpless. But she can't let him get away with such stunts again. Superstar...watch out! Biwi is about to hand out some edicts. Dare to disobey at the risk to your health.

Chapter 36 - Diabolical Di

Mumbai

Fire should be her name, as Anjali is still burning from the turn of events that has turned her life upside down. She is not a woman to be crossed after all, she is a Raizada. Arnav's anger and punishment is child's play compared to Anjali's.

It has been just a few days since that fateful day when she was abandoned to her own devices. She was abandoned by her brother, useless boyfriend and left with equally useless credit cards. Arnav didn't waste any time cancelling all her cards, damn his hide! She had no money left in her joint account thanks to her worthless husband.

Left with no money and an exorbitant hotel bill to pay, thanks to Arnav checking her out early, she called a friend. Affecting a helpless tone, she called a college friend, Abhay, and begged him prettily to rescue her from trouble. The poor chap has always had a crush on her and she used it to her advantage.

Acting the part of damsel in distress to the hilt, she made up a sob story that the Raizada family disowned her when she got married. Then she found out her husband has been cheating on her. And when she confronted him, he abandoned her. Crying all over the hapless chap, Anjali roused his chivalrous instinct to offer assistance. He paid for the hotel bill and invited her to stay at his home till she gets back on her feet.

Anjali Manohar Jha has a doctorate in manipulation and wields it like a sword, deadly and effectively. Just as Arnav has promised, he bought her paltry shares of stocks in AR Designs. The proceeds of the sale were transferred to her joint account. She promptly transferred all the money to another account just under her name only. Anjali has no intention of sharing the money that is rightfully hers alone with Shyam. He is of no use to her anymore and can go to hell!

Anjali found a small, dark corner in an unknown club and is scanning the crowd. Her calculating eyes alight on the person she has come to meet. She waves her hand and catches his attention, beckoning him to come to her table. The man ambles over to her table and sits down.

Man (coldly): Do you have the money?

Anjali (equally cold): I will advance you half the amount and the other half when the job is complete. If you are unable to complete the job, I know how to find you and let's just say you won't like the consequences.

Man (shrugs): Don't worry madam the job will be completed. I am very good at what I do.

Anjali (snaps): You better be! I am paying you a lot of money for you to screw up.

Man (growls): Just show me the money!

Anjali shows him a small bag full of crisp bank notes. He tries to snatch it but she pulls it back with a cruel smile.

Anjali (shakes her head): First we will discuss the job. (Hands him a file) All you need to know about these individuals are in this file. You will WAIT for me to give you the green light when to carry out the plan. Do you understand? It's very important that you do or it won't work. Till then get everthing in order.

Man: I will await your order madam. (Growls) Now the money?

Anjali (hands over the cash): As I said before, if the job is not complete, I know how to find you. I am paying a lot of money and I expect results.

Man (coldly): As I said before, I am very good at my job. (Leans forward threateningly) Be careful madam...I don't take threats very well.

The man walks off leaving behind a fuming Anjali.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. In Anjali's mind, she has been soundly betrayed and the perpetrators must be punished. Revenge is a dish best served cold. But Anjali prefers it scalding hot, flambd. Diabolical Di is ready to strike again.
