i am not a neutral viewer! MB is RM for me! if no VD, then lets not have any love interest! wd rather have revenge drama n end with it.

still hoping for VD to come back! 😭

exactly my point Priya ,...

we cannot imagine the show without D or VD...so in case if VD is never coming back then the season-1 is over !

even D wants to call it a new show ...she know MEIEJ fans way better !! she knows how much DVD were adored ! she was so sweet n polite telling that it was like doing a new show altogether ...of course it is ..except for Radha n bittu who are kept to connect the past n present !

But you know what I was thinking it would not be the case with him like it would have been with Shalleen. Because with Shalleen it was known he has charisma he can carry off brooding and the angry avatar, so the disgruntlement was there for RM fans and the trouble started yesterday already but with Gunjan expectations are low, which is good, his new eager to please, they've tested him several times and when the work starts he will be willing to do anything possible to get it right. More about him being new is the press have no skeletons in the closet to display and keep going back to in the future too.

@bold...poor guy indeed 😆...he will be mocked,ridiculed and called names just cause he's coming to take VD's place...it's the sad truth.

and I agree wrt shaleen...he has an existing fan base,has played the brooding,manly cop so he could've pulled off similar expressions while playing a superstar...but sadly he too lacks in the looks dept. more so than GU. On the other hand this will be GU's ticket from near obscurity to popularity...he will face flak just as Raqesh Vashisth did while replacing KSG in QH but being a part of an established project like MB can do wonders to his career and he will work hard to please the audience and makers alike.

Priya, I was in the same frame of mind as you yesterday morning, when I saw the Tellychakker article about Shalleen. I was thinking two things of Abhay Kapoors hate for Rishbala and his intentions of obliterating everything to do with them and the next thing I was thinking is the age gap if AK is 18 now and his 35 after the gap, ST said in a twitter conversation to a fan of the show, got me thinking perhaps the new story the CV's have learnt something about the previous story where it became about the love story and the audience wouldn't accept the heroine track because Madhu was married to RK (also it wasn't Madhu's dream to be a Superstar) but we have said the love story became the main focus, so I opened a thread and said the same as you above, hoping the main focus would be the revenge plans, taunting dialogues and Madhu retaliating focus the Madhu Superstardom. I still have that hope as well. But the title of the show ishq and junoon does lead me and others to believe that they will show a love story here, whether it's with AK or Bittuji's son or someone else KRK's son who could be played by Vivian, but there will have to be some junoon there and love later.

You know what could decide it (whether to actually show the love story the ishq and junoon somemore), is what will happen in March, in this time slot Mahabharat is due to finish, I think the makers will watch closely the TRP's after that date to see if the show TRP's improve, the Qubool Hai people are saying with the new guy the TRP has improved, so the TRP aunties are accepting the new face they watch for the story anyway, with Madhubala its more difficult definitely, but I think the Channel and Makers are waiting for after Mahabharat to watch the viewer numbers. If it's low they will just wind up and shut down.

MB was due to wind up in March but isn't any longer...it has got a 3 month extension I believe,so will remain a tough competitor for MEIEJ.Practically the CVs shouldn't expect the TRPs to skyrocket even with a good script...cos both MB & TMKUC have loyal viewers and MEIEJ has always catered more to the young audience...but yes definitely staying within those realms MEIEJ could fare better TRP wise or reclaim some of the lost audience with an engaging plot and good execution.

I understand that the TRP generating audience are more interested in the plot than actors but it will be unwise not to acknowledge the fact that DVD's chemistry combined with good screenplay and execution were the reasons why MEIEJ held a much more respectable place in the TRP charts initially.

If the audience feels disconnected in VD's absence or do not warm upto the chemistry between DD and the new lead in what is essentially a show based on passion,obsession,love & hatred then even with a good script the show is doomed to fail.

oh bella thank u for bringing back those memories 🤗...how VD use to engulf petite DD in arms and carry her off...Mills & Boon material......and as u rightly said...that morning after convo between RM post SR in the studio..."tum janti ho tum kitni choti si ho mere samne" ☺️...and my heartache for RM gains force again Bella
