nothing more to add except that Madhu must have read the scene beforehand..the actors do it right? then why was she taken aback with what was happening??

have to agree that after Pabo, MC must be the most hated character...I was waiting for RK to shut him up...scenes are never okayed in first shot right? instead of shouting, he cud have taken a small break and explained Madhu what did he expect frm her...right frm the first shot, he just expects her to do everything perfect , when he knows she's not a seasoned actress ..

as for RK's reaction, we should wait for Monday..he hasn't reacted right now..this is his and Madhu's workplace, they are actors & they have a task at hand...the scene was not sleazy or overtly intimate...Madhu had her inhibitions & RK will understand...

Charu welcome back, I hope you enjoyed your vacation🤗

I also think the scene wasn't that red hot nothing more than what was shown in many beautiful movies that we enjoyed and didn't consider as very bold, because it's not like it's a scene where there will be a lot of extremely suggestive touches, kisses and nudity!!

The episode was nice, it's showing what Madhu will face in this career to be a real professional, I think Rk was behaving as a professional, the context is different than the one when he protected her from Sultan, how are we supposed to see them finish that film, if they will compromise their work, what they can do instead, is drawing precise lines to what should be shown. For me, the scene as per what they showed wasn't vulgar at all.

I couldn't enjoy Karanamika's scene completely for the same reason as MC, Madhu was so terrified giving the impression that Karan was someone who was trying to abuse her and not her lover, this is how we saw it, and not like two lovers lost in their romance and passion!, so for a director this is what bothered him and that's why he told her to remember Anamika the character and forget Madhu.

As for Madhu, I understand her stand, and I didn't like MC talking to her that way even if somehow from a professional angle he is right, I would prefered her to explain them that she is uncomfortable and exactly about which or which thing, and then they discuss along with Rk how to make her comfortable explaining the whole thing from a professional point of view yet respecting her sensibilities as a person who is not used to that, it's all a psychological thing, if Madhu herself believes that all this is acting and she is doing it for the film's success and that the scene is not that bold as many have described it, then I'm sure she will do it easily. When she danced in that black gown with Rk on Mar jawan in front of everyone in that restaurant with a lot of passion, then also she was aware people were in the restaurant, but since she was acting and trying to convince and woo Rk, she didn't feel bad about doing it.

Dear All -

At this stage, we'd like to request everyone to refrain from commenting relentlessly on what RK should/could/would have done. Please respect each other's view point and try to keep the ranting to a bare minimum. Thank you.

kodai, am joining Charu and MM in applauding your post...👏.

A clean cut delineation of 3 differing perspectives - the hero, heroine and the director - and how they perceive the same situation helps in understanding the episode on a different level...😉.

MAS, Thanks for your post and reminder...👏.

Hi Shalini, as I said there was nothing wrong with the scene. It was just that madhu is a novice and deserved a more private ambience while filming any intimate scene.. The comfort level of the actors is paramount. So if madhu is not comfortable she can just say it and the scene can be toned down.. She has a right to do that.

But RK shouldn't be changing the script for himself.. Rather for his coactor's discomfort.. I hope I am not confusing u.. RK as a husband should sense madhu's discomfort, but he has to be a professional..
Madhu is doing it for him, so if he starts deciding for her then it would be highly regressive ad unprofessional on his part...

And Kajol does all kinds of sensuous scenes but that doesn't mean Ajay Devgn has put her up for public to see..
And Akshay Kumar on the other hand was very clear that he doesn't want his wife to work, not even with himself.. So it's everyone's personal opinion..

Seeing Kashish's reply (cardio21) I recalled that actually Kajol in Fanaa had a lovemaking scene with Aamir khan and she was at that time married to Ajay!!!! and I don't remember Ajay to have said anything about it, does it mean he displays his wife!!! I guess he took it as a professional scene nothing less nothing more.

ETA: I don't encourage such kind of scenes neither do I defend anyone or any point of view, I'm just trying to say that in a profession like acting, you can see yourself faced to do a lot of scenes, depending on the type of movies, for some directors and in their vision of things showing more or even shocking scenes might serve the film's purpose, not only in sensuous scenes also in other scenes, Demi Moore for example shaved her hair completely in a movie, So that depends on many things, they might be seeing all this as an art and not limit themselves to cheap thinking

Najat,
Its ok you are entitled to your view
My point is and was that you do not need any sensual scenes to make it a hit ...RK and madhu have a history here , so I am giving my opinion based on my understanding of thier relationship and rk I have seen and appreciated.
I do not know how Ajay and Kajol treat her profession, I was giving his home production example to hightlight the way they produced thier movie starring a wife and hisband.
I hope it is not mandatory that all of us at EDT and MAT should have a single view of the scene and all have to appreciate what is being shown regardless whether it make sense or not for self.
some dont like dipali, some dont like phabho and I did not like how RK is so comfortable doing the scene . Every thing is shown by same cvs ...we do not like all aspects of it that is why we have different point of views... Some did not like Mehul shouting at her and RK not saying anything to him, if he is being professional in doing the scene without any reservations then he is also being professional and respecting the view of Director, so why we did not like the scene.
So I understand completely where you are coming from and why it makes complete sense to you and others...

thank you Kodai👏. Loved your perspective. Where have you been? Please come more often. We need people like you on the EDT. I do remember you were around last September/october/november when we had the 'old RK' around, so it is refreshing to read.

All your reviews are wonderful! Its awesome to see that the same epi is interpreted in so many diff ways. I enjoyed the epi very much but coming on EDT made me think twice whether my interpretation was wrong. I always watch MB on prime time with entire family - Hubby, 10 yr old son, and parents. They are not addicted to the show but they cant escape whats coming on TV. It is interesting to hear their comments as well. My son caught pabho the very moment she started apologising to madhu.

What I liked

- All the villians of the show were defeated in their plan. The accepted & acknowledged their defeat. Be it amar/kuku, or pabo/dips (in precap) they acknowledged that they have been defeated by RK or Madhu respectively.
- Makeup ki dukaan's (simi's mom)attempt to dig hole for madhu & then she herself falling in it.
- RK - contrary to what many think - I liked the way he was trying to pacify madhu with his words, giving her cues about her dialogs & also trying to pacify MC when he was blowing his head off! Yes, he couldnot understand the real reason of her nervousness. I expected him to gauge the reason & act upon it. But another episode is to be shown for that. Even last time on her first day shoot, he has a eureka moment afterwards & he goes & explains & motivates her. I m expecting another of RK-Madhu personal discussion about this before the scene is okayed in one take.

Madhu - DD was flawless in her portrayal of a newbie actress shy at shooting intimate scene - even though it was her husband. Wearing a short skirt or a dori blouse is one's comfort level & will. But that doesnot mean that she will be comfy if her husband enacts pulling her pallu or opening a dori in front of gaping crowd. It again comes down to what is comfortable with the person herself. Agreed that if a girl wears a backless blouse then ppl might ogle over her. But that is totally different from being ogled while a guy (even though hubby) is trying to open dori or touching waist. It all comes down to WILL of a person. She was not comfy by stares & it was portrayed splendidly by DD. Finally, serial is showing what happens behind the camera.

What I didnot like
- MC's impatience & his inability in gauging madhu's problems. CVs are showing what actors & actresses do but they are not showing what a director does. A director's responsibility is to explain his vision to actors & to convey & convince them so that actors can enact it perfectly. He didnot convey it properly. He even said that there is no rehearsal. He didnot understand her dilemma & was forcing his expectations on her. It makes me think was MC right choice as a director? He is not doing his work as a director & expects newbie to be a professional actress. He is accusing her to be a cry baby but infact, he himself is being a tantrum king who expects one take actress all time. If madhu & RK are good actors, then anyone can direct movie. What is the point of having a mature & seasoned director.

Its off topic, but I was remembering interview of Ravindra gautam & VD, where VD said that actor is like a furniture or wood & its upto a director to mould it like his vision. It's a fabulous interview where you actually understand the bond between actor & director. For me, not RK but Mehul is disappointment. RK was being a co-actor, trying to make madhu comfortable by his words. It was mehul who was adding on pressure onto madhu.

Yes chemistry between DVD is sizzling hot! Scene was beautifully shot. I personally don't think that it cannot be watched with kids. It was not a lip-lock or any such scenes. Today, I was watching jab we met& even that movie had a lip-lock in the end. That scene was not edited & movie was shown in colors at sunday primetime.

Wow this had to be the best episode I've seen in days! I can actually say that the magic is back!

I fast forwarded all Phabho/Dips scenes! They are so boring!

MB - I loved her expression during the dori scene! Lol! She portrayed her discomfort shooting such a scene very well! But why could not she at least tell rk that she wasn't comfortable?

RK - he was really supportive and patient with madhu. He is such a good pati! But why didn't he realize that madhu was uncomfortable with this scene and tell MC?

MC - He's a pathetic idiot! During his "auditions" he didn't have madhu say any dialogues and he was overconfident that madhu will wing it! Why didn't he discuss with madhu if she is okay with shooting this scene?

Crowd watching the scene - are there supposed to be this many people? No wonder madhu felt uncomfortable.

soundarya, charu, MM, blacklambo & anyone I may have missed
Thanks for reading and just want to say I really miss the old days on EDT & the serial which provoked such interesting discussions on a wide range of topics (a lot of thanks to Shri for that). Since the CV's negated their own characterizations, these days when I watch it, it's with no involvement and so there's no reaction emotionally or intellectually, so nothing to discuss anymore.

Sorry MAS if this is not related to EDT. Just became nostalgic :)
