Chapter Seventeen - The Kiss of Love
It had been one week since I had attempted to take my life. The hospital kept me under 72-hour surveillance in case I tried to pull another stupid move and then RK insisted I rest for another four days when I got back home. I had enough of resting though. I sat on his bed in his room, waiting for him to get back from his long hours of shooting. As I waited, I glanced around the room and attempted to picture the happenings of that one drunken night. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh, only to hear his footsteps enter the room. I opened my eyes and looked to my right to see his steps come to a stop as his gaze stopped on me.
"You should be resting. What are you doi..."
"I'm done resting. I want revenge. I want it now. I won't be at peace until I get it. Even if I rest for the rest of my life, I won't feel good until they get what they deserve. I don't care how; I just want them to pay now. I want them to rot in hell."
He smiled, a soft, tired smile, and came to a stop in front of me. He stared down at me with determined eyes.
"I promise you they'll get what they deserve. I won't let them get off easy with it. But we need to be patient. I've been planning this for a while now."
"Planning? You have a plan? What is it?"
"I do, but I planned to tell you after you got enough rest."
I stood up off the bed, facing him.
"RK, I've rested enough. I'm feeling much better now."
"Hmm...I don't know..."
He grabbed my waist and pulled me close. I gasped as my chest hit his. He let a playful smirk cross his face, as he looked my face up and down.
"You seem to be sick with the love bug."
I let out a short sarcastic laugh and lightly hit his arm.
"Not yet. I don't love you and I don't think I will for a wh..."
Before I could even finish, he had his lips on mine. At first I struggled to pull away but he didn't let me go, rather pulling me close. Then I gave in. It was a gentle, passionate kiss. The instant I gave in, he pulled away slowly. I opened my eyes and stared at his lips, only to see a smile. I looked into his eyes and heard him speak, though my mind was spinning with joy and my knees weak.
"Still don't love me?"
I looked down at his lips and back up into his eyes as he awaited an answer. I hated myself for it, but he was right. I couldn't deny it any longer. That feeling of longing and wanting him near me at all times...if that wasn't love, I didn't know what was. So I went with my instinct and rose onto my tiptoes to answer his question with a silent kiss. I felt him smile under the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He leaned down over me as he kissed me, causing me to land back onto my feet. I felt him moan, causing a chill to run down my spine as my heart fluttered away. Then suddenly there was the noise of something falling. I pulled away instantly and looked to my right as I felt RK's eyes still on me. I saw Bittuji standing with his cellphones at his feet.
"Bi...Bittuji..."
"I...uh...sorry...I'll be b..."
He stuttered, trying to find the right words as he picked up his phones, when I heard RK speak up.
"No Bittuji! You've come just on time."
I looked at RK confused as he went to approach the embarrassed Bittuji.
"I need to know how fast you can get me contact information."
"Whose?"
"Well I already know where Harry is, unless he ran after I threatened him. I need Aakash's and Raj's information."
"I have it already Chief. But I heard they haven't been home since the party night."
"The nerve of them to come to a party at MY banquet hall after murdering MY parents."
I watched him slam his fist against the nearest wall, startling me.
"Chief, they'll pay for what they did."
"You're damn right they will. Figure out where they are now and tell me."
"Yes Chief."
"Now get lost."
Bittuji nodded his head and left the room quicker than I had ever seen him leave a room before. RK turned to face me. He walked up to me and pulled me close by the waist again.
"RK, tell me something."
"Anything for you my love."
"How'd you fall in love with me so suddenly?"
"I didn't. I've known you for two months now I believe. That's long enough for someone to fall in love."
"Is it...?"
"Well, you love me don't you?"
"I'm a girl. You're RK. You don't love anyone."
"Besides you."
"Hmm..."
Something definitely seemed off. His voice then interrupted my suspecting thoughts.
"Now, where were we?"
I didn't have it in me to be in a happy, loving mood anymore. So I looked down. His grip on my waist loosened as I whispered.
"We were in the middle of figuring out how to make them pay for what they did..."
