A very clunky episode but given the fact that the the general verdict for the episode was disappointed, I am forced to play devil's advocate.
The way I see it, the biggest clunk is Dips involvement. She is blatantly helping Sultan but no one suspects her. All this despite the fact Sikky is aware of her obsession with RK, she attempted to blackmail Radha and later gave MK's photo to Sultan, Paddy is aware how she tried to drive wedge between Rishbala, Rk knows how low she had fallen during the wedding and helped Sultan. My point is that despite the fact that no one has complete visibility to everything she did, everyone has enough reason to suspect Dips when things started to fall apart.
However once I assume that no one expected Dips stooping to that level, the plan was actually not that bad. If Dips had not helped Sultan, it would have given cops enough time to discover Sultan and catch him. Production value aside, he did get constantly confused with all the look-alikes and with cell phones being jammed...he found it hard to ask for help so in a way they were successful. In fact they would have succeeded several times until now if Dips had not run interference. At this point I consider Dips pretty nonredeemable regardless of what she does. I understand that I like her being in show so I am hoping that they find a sensible way of keeping her on and hopefully it is not Madhu arguing on her behalf because that would show Madhu has learnt nothing from Sultan fiasco. At this point I am looking for some sign of righteous anger in her demeanor instead on another mahaanta spree.
Now that I have done my share of spreading positivity, here is my rant -
1)As so many viewers have pointed out...there was only one entrance to the chawl that was heavily guarded...how did Sultan manage to drag kicking and struggling Madhu out without drawing any attention? I kept thinking of scenarios...it would have made sense if he had chloroformed Madhu and then passed her over the boundary wall to his minions in some secluded spot...but none of that happened.
2)Sultan's getup and his acting was yuck...I don't know why they are aggravating the viewers with this drag. He does not inspire any fear but rather a nauseous disgusting feeling. Madhu had very limited scenes but still I failed to connect with her apprehension. VD was better at expressing the same.
3)Loved the fact that Joshi quickly caught on to the fact that Dips was helping Sultan ...Dips denied it unconvincingly and slipping up when she said that why would she help Sultan( implying she knew Sultan is alive). What was surprising to me is that while Rk looked disgusted, he did not jump at Dips throat as I expected ...Was it due to so many onlookers and the fact he had bigger concerns on his mind at this point? On a different note...I found it odd that cops looked confused and they did not move until Joshi shouted from the stage when Madhu vanished.
4)I am completely baffled why Dips believes Sultan will not kill RK. Given that now RK knows the truth and the culprit behind his wife's disappearance, he is never going to let it go. He will dedicate his life and resources in chasing Sultan and getting Madhu back thus creating a problem for Sultan. The only way Sultan can get RK off his back and kill Madhu's hope of ever seeing RK is by killing him. It is a very very simplistic logic. Besides given Sultan's history, his word is worth nothing.
5)I had hoped that they had planned for this eventuality (There was a tracker hidden in Madhu's dress or she had a active cellphone that was being traced or the security outside the chawl was stellar). However I don't think that they had prepared for this ...I do hope that Joshi tortures Dips to get the information he needs and Sikky removes his blindfold when it comes to Dips at this point.
6)They are going to drag this for another few days ...I am not happy about that. Another thing that I am noticing is despite the fact that the show is finally getting into form...I am not connecting with the characters. The clunk and disgust with certain characters is overpowering any emotional response, I might have to the show. This is also a novel experience for me because for the first time my disgust for a certain character is beginning to flow down to the actor playing him.
