Hey mm!! I never liked heathcliff.. And usually don't like anti heroes.. But RK is different.. I see more good in him.. He doesn't cross anyone's path.. He only walks over people who barge into his life,, he just tells that who is the boss!! I think this is how a man or a woman should be.. My mom cals me a honey comb, as I never bother anyone, but never spare anyone who hampers my way towards my goal..
Heathcliff was never shown to be super smart.. I love RK being so brainy, manipulative.. I think it's a good quality if one wants to suceed in life especially when he doesn't take advantage of his mom n wife for his personal goals.. He considers him, his wife n his mom as one unit!!
RK even though hates his step family provides them with all the riches, without rubbing it off people that he s being nice, rather he portrays himself to be meaner than he actually is..
Hi Kashish, you can call me Maria! 😊
No, when I say I loved Heathcliff, (yes I love him) I say it in the literary sense! I mean I just love his characterization. I absolutely didn't root for him when he was all bitter and he crossed all limits, I know that. You don't root for antiheroes, you hate them, yet you admire their complex nature. But he is definitely the best antihero that was ever written, true tortured romantic hero because, he truly blurred the line between a hero and a villain. I admire him as a character.
When I say I like antiheroes, I don't mean that I want a man like him for me. 😆 I mean I just simply admire to read (as I read more than I watch TV) and ponder over the complexity in their psychology and characterization. As I said in my previous post, I am sadistic that way. 😳 Heathcliff was one wild character, you either love him or you hate him, but whatever you feel for him while reading the book, you feel it with passion. That's the thing I like about him. He was and will always be the archetype for all antiheroes to come.
And yes, RK is definitely very different. I think he is as much of an antihero as the TRP audience can take. They can't show a Heathcliff on TV. Many people don't get RK, how will they ever get Heathcliff?
I like dark and gothic love stories like Wuthering Heights because I believe love does not make everyone selfless. I mean, there are all sorts of people in the world who love very differently. But that's just my opinion.
