The popular British novel written by Jeffrey Archer has taken lot of creative license on the Biblical story of Eve's two sons - Cain and Abel.

Cain was the first human born and Abel was the first human to die. Cain committed the first murder by killing his brother.

Jeffrey Archer's novel takes from this plot and sets up two characters - William Lowell Kane, a banker and Abel Rosnovski, a poor immigrant.

It pits the two men against each other. William's father dies in the Titanic and his mum is married to Harry who is drunkard and a womanizer. Well like our RK, the two roads never meet and eventually Kane takes over the reins of the bank.

Meanwhile our Abel is crossing continents and ending up with a sort of a foster godfather who dies letting him know that William's bank never sponsored their deal during the Great Depression.

So now Abel hates Kane.

Thus begins the war of Kane Vs Abel with Abel trying to oust Kane from the Bank's president-ship.

After some boardroom manoeuvres and a whole lot of war of words, it comes to light that afterall William Kane was not such a bad guy and that Abel was fighting a lost cause.

End of story for us.

But what is important here is that, the Kane and Abel reference or the Cain and Abel reference has proved to be of inspiration to a 100 or more stories that came out of cinema or elsewhere. Cain and Abel are more like two step brothers pitted against each other that always end up fighting each other with it somewhere leading to one's death. And at the core of it all is - fight for dignity, jealousy, and honor.

So let's wait and watch if this story of Sultan and RK turns into another Cain and Abel story.

Other such sorties:

Deewar + Trishul

Mani Ratnam movies + Rajnikant

yep you can draw similarities between your mentioned plot and the current track of MB...however I'm sure the CVs will never go to the extent of turning RK completely negative in his quest to oust Sultan from his life and Madhu's...cos lets face it...he's the lead protagonist, albeit a grey one but the lead nonetheless.

i'm enjoying this track minus some OTT drama...but what is interesting is that the CVs have managed to keep sultan positive despite his profession but whether that changes for the bad in the future remains to be seen.i really wouldn't want sullu to turn into an obsessed lover for Madhu...that story has seen its end with madhu getting hitched to RK...rather i would like to see the dynamic duo sullu/RK battle it out for their respective causes and watch how RK handles the truth about his father
