Neeta Lulla raves about TV show 'Madhubala…' lead pair

Mumbai, May 30 (IANS) Ace fashion designer Neeta Lulla, who has designed a maroon wedding lehenga for Drashti Dhami's character in "Madhubala… Ek Ishq Ek Junoon", is in awe of the popularity of the show's lead couple.

Currently pre-wedding celebrations are going on in the show, which completed a year Tuesday. While Drashti plays Madhubala, Vivian Dsena is seen as RK, a film star in the Colors channel's TV series.

"It's fantastic to be designing for such a handsome couple. She (Drashti) is very pretty and when we saw her for the first time, everybody was raving about her. She does full justice to what everybody spoke about. The way she enacts her character is simply brilliant and so is Vivian," said the designer here on the sets of the show Wednesday.

"RK is just another milestone in the history of television," she added.

On designing outfits for a particular character, Lulla said that it is necessary to know the characters and their popularity.

"Everything is driven by the character and the audience that watches the character. Of course, the dress should be made keeping in mind the impact of the character, which has already created such a big impact on the audience."

Reportedly, Lulla will also make an entry into the show before RK and Madhubala's D-Day and gift the wedding dress to the bride herself.
