Hi! I actually have one more week of school yet, then I'll start writing updates again. :)
Yup! I'm back! I'm officially done summer school. :)
Anyways, I was reading through the comments on a RishBala OS I had made (Stranded In Love) and was surprised to see a comment which matched my original thoughts! war_is_peace suggested I incorporate the OS into this FF and that's exactly what I had been thinking of doing! It's perfect to help this FF move forwards. Anyways, near the end of this part you'll probably recognize the OS if you've read it!
Chapter Three - The Lone Cabin
At first I had refused to go to the party, but he knew how to get to me. All he had to do was threaten Malik's life and I'd do anything he'd say. Had he not called the hospital in front of me, I would not have been getting ready for the party.
I dressed myself in the black sari he had provided me and adorned myself with the jewelry. Once I was done, I stepped outside the room and found myself standing at the top of the stairs, staring down at the party below me. I knew the minute the party began for me, it would not be good. I knew RK had planned something for me in this party and I dreaded finding out what it was.
Just as the clock struck 10pm, a light flashed onto my face. Reflexively, my hand came in front of my face to block the light as my eyes tried to focus. Then just as my eyes focused, I slowly moved my hand away. I saw a bunch of unfamiliar faces staring up at me. I instantly felt a swarm of butterflies in my stomach as I became nervous and it wasn't until my eyes found him that my nerves calmed down. He locked eyes with mine from afar and my feet began pulling me down the stairs towards him. For some odd reason, the look on his face seemed mesmerized. He seemed to be in a trance and that look, those eyes held me in a trance as well. It felt as though everyone had disappeared as we walked towards each other. Suddenly I heard applause around me. My eyes flickered and I found myself standing with my hand within his. I pulled away, not wanting to have any contact with the man who was hell-bent on ruining whatever was left of my life after everything he had already done to me.
Of course, my thoughts were correct and the party ended horribly. He did as I had assumed he would, insulting me in front of everyone after dancing with me. I couldn't handle what he had done and said, so I broke down. I broke down enough for my feet to drag me through the rainy streets, towards the studio. I walked in a trance, lost in my thoughts while I let tears run, expressing my emotional pain to no one but myself. It wasn't until I fell that I came out of my trance. I found myself stuck in the middle of the bridge I had met the man of my misery on. Ironically, that same bridge brought misery to me once again. My struggles to get free were useless until I felt a hand on top of mine. My saviour was none other than RK. At first I refused to be saved by the man who put me in that position. I angrily struggled to get free myself but he continued to help me. Eventually he won with his force and pulled me up. Shocked is an understatement in describing how I felt when I realized he had saved my life.
As he walked away, I followed behind him, slowly. I limped due to my injury and couldn't wait to get into some warm, dry clothes; but with my luck, we ended up locked inside the studio.
Though I thought it was a bad thing, I managed to see a different side to RK while we remained stuck within the studio. He even partially opened up to me, explaining what had happened to his father. It wasn't until that point that I ever felt sympathy for him. He thought it was pity I felt for him, but I knew it wasn't. I was a sympathetic person but I guess he just didn't understand that. So I accepted his refusal to bring up the happenings of the night in the studio.
Then just when I thought things couldn't get any crazier, I found myself standing face to face with a girl I'd never seen in the RK mansion before. I could sense the tension between RK and her. So much so, that I became to feel uncomfortable standing in that atmosphere.
It wasn't until RK forced me to move into his room that I found out she was in fact his step sister-in-law, Dipali.
After moving into RK's room, things definitely did lighten between us. It was as though we had become used to one another's presence. As though we had accepted each other as husband and wife. I knew he had accepted me as his wife after over-hearing his conversation with Dipali. But soon there after I also came to know that she was his ex-girlfriend, and I couldn't help but feel upset. Why? I still don't know to this day why I felt the way I did when I came to know she was his ex-girlfriend.
Anyways, I'm just going to zoom through my and RK's life up until our true story begins. Before the part where things turned around for the both of us. Basically, I'm taking you all straight to the interesting part.
After moving into his room, I found myself wanting to help him out with his past. I wanted to help him accept the past and move on in life happily. Then unexpectedly someone shot at RK. That 'someone' happened to be Malik. It took me some time but I came to forgive him with the help of RK, who by this point I had become attached to in an odd way. We shared a companionship of a unique kind, but I liked it. It was a friendship combined with hatred and care for each other. The feelings were definitely mutual and I had become comfortable living in the same house and room as RK.
---
"BIWI!"
I heard RK's voice roaring throughout his mansion. Not even a second had passed when he decided to call for me again.
"BIWI!"
I went rushing into RK's room.
"What is it RK?"
My eyes landed on RK who stood in front of a mirror, struggling with his tie. I laughed as I went to stand beside him. As I crossed her arms, I looked through the mirror and into RK's eyes. He had frozen still as a statue.
I felt my cheeks flush red as he turned his body in my direction and looked me up and down. I wore a beautiful, thin-strapped, light baby-blue coloured sari with silver beads and lining, which was gifted to me by him. It matched the blue shirt RK wore beneath his black suit.
As his eyes met mine again, he came out of his trance.
"You look…alright."
He spoke as casually as he could and turned back towards the mirror. I smiled at his compliment, knowing it was a huge compliment from him. As I already mentioned, I had accepted that RK was different, not the kind to be open with his feelings. Not only had I accepted that truth, I had also accepted my relationship with RK. No longer did I consider it a contract relationship, I had moved on to considering it a marriage. Though incomplete, I still thought of him as my husband.
"Biwi! What are you standing there, gawking at me for? There's hundreds of pictures of me in our room that you can stare at to your heart's content, but for now, just help me with my tie!"
I jumped out of her trance, not realizing I was in it, and turned RK by the arm to face me. I stared at the tie and a confused expression crossed my face.
"Wait…tie? Malik never wore a tie…"
"Biwi! Are you telling me that you don't know how to tie this?"
"That's exactly what I'm telling you…"
I looked up at him and as I stared up at him, he grabbed his tie and took it off from around his neck. He threw it onto the bed and shrugged his shoulders.
"I wasn't planning on wearing a tie in the first place."
"What? But then…why'd you call me?!"
I stared at him with my usual angry face.
"To see this furious little expression of yours."
He smirked and gently caressed the side of my face.
I had still wondered what effect he managed to have on me with every touch of his hand. I could never stop my heart from racing whenever he caressed my face.
He slowly retreated his hand and looked away while speaking firmly.
"We should go, we'll be late."
I nodded my head slowly and followed RK towards their car. Minutes later, we arrived outside a large, beautiful banquet hall that was lit with hundreds of lights. I looked out the window to see many people dressed formally, who seemed to be awaiting someone's arrival. RK had not told me what the special occasion was, but I felt the strangers were all looking out for RK. I sighed, shook my head slightly and stepped out of the car. I went to stand beside RK and as I looked up at him, I saw his eyes on me. My eyes fluttered and I looked away.
"Mr. Rishabh Kundra, is this another 'RK's amazing' party?"
I looked back up at him with a playful smile. RK smirked and made an opening in his arm for me. My eyes landed on his arm and then headed back up to stare into his eyes.
"For the media biwi."
He smirked and I smiled and locked my arm with his.
"You're not going to tell me what this is for, are you?"
I spoke as we began to approach the crowd. Suddenly, RK's step came to a stop as he began searching through his pocket for something. I let go of his arm and let a confused expression cross my face as he searched all his pockets.
"Biwi!"
He turned to stare at me.
"What? What are you looking for?"
RK patted down his jacket and shook his head. He grabbed my arm and began pulling me back towards the car.
"RK?! Where are you going? The party's the other way!"
"Shut up biwi, I forgot something. I'll take a shortcut to go home."
"Shortcut?"
I suddenly felt uneasy. RK didn't respond as he drove off in an unknown direction. After a while, the shortcut didn't seem to be so short. I had fallen asleep but woke up and looked towards RK who was looking around, as though he were lost. I turned to look out the window and saw nothing but darkness. I shrieked and grabbed RK's arm. RK looked down at my hands on his arm and then towards me. RK smiled and came to a stop with the car; he turned off the engine and took off his seatbelt. He gently placed his hand on top of mine and watched me open one of my eyes. As I stared into his eyes, I opened both my eyes and pulled away.
"Sor…RK! Where are we?! What kind of shortcut is this? The party's probably ov..."
"Madhu!"
Hearing my name from his mouth always silenced me.
"Don't get angry…but…we're lost…"
"WHAT?!"
I began to feel sick to her stomach as the darkness surrounded them.
"Take me home RK!"
RK turned on the light in the car, for me I assumed, and put his seatbelt back on. He turned the key in the car and…
"Why isn't the car starting?!"
"Biwi! Calm down! You're making the car angry, look, now it's not even starting. Good job biwi."
"RK…I'm in no mood for your jokes. I want to go home!"
"Alright, alright."
RK stepped out of the car. I sat in the car for a few seconds when I suddenly felt too frightened to sit there alone any longer. I went to join RK who was standing in front of the car's hood.
"Don't worry biwi, I'm right here."
"I'm not scared…I was just checking if…the car's fixed or not."
I lied as he smirked up at me.
"I wouldn't be standing here right now if it was."
After a couple minutes, RK stood and rubbed his hands. I smiled.
"Fixed?"
RK smiled back and stared into my eyes.
"Nope."
"RK! I'm walking home. I'm not scared of this stupid darkness."
I spoke irritably and then angrily stomped away into the darkness alone.
"Biwi! Who knows what kind of monsters are waiting to get you in the dark."
RK yelled out behind me. My steps came to a stop as every hair on my body stood on end. As I felt a hand on my shoulder, I screamed, turned, and wrapped my arms around the closest thing I could find. It wasn't until I heard his low chuckle that I realized it was RK and pulled out of his embrace.
"I thought you weren't scared?" RK raised an eyebrow.
Madhu gently hit his arm, "Shut up RK, you know I'm afraid of the dark."
RK laughed and then gently interlocked his fingers with hers. Madhu stared down at their hands as RK stared at her. She couldn't help but smile as RK began pulling her away from the car and further into the darkness.
Eventually they came to a stop outside a cabin, which seemed up to date and clean from the outside.
"RK! Let's go see if someone's there."
"Biwi? Are you sure? Haven't you watched those horror fil…"
"Are you trying to scare me patidev? Because right now it's not going to work. I've been all scared out tonight and right now I'm just annoyed and tired."
I let go of his hand and ran towards the cabin door. RK followed behind as I knocked on the door. With no response after a minute, RK tried at the doorknob. The door opened and we found ourselves staring into a beautiful cabin, which seemed to be in perfect condition.
"Come biwi!"
"RK? Are you sure…I mean…this isn't ours…"
"I'm sure no one would mind superstar RK and his biwi spending a night in their cabin. And if someone does mind, I'll pay him or her off. Come."
RK grabbed my hand and pulled me in.
The cabin, though clean, was small. It had one room, which had the kitchen, family room, and bedroom all combined. There was only one bed and no kitchen appliances or any other type of furniture.
"I don't think anyone's been living here…what would someone just do with a bed?"
"I know a lot of things someone can do with a bed."
RK replied casually as he raised an eyebrow and smirked at me. I shied away and quickly tried to change the topic.
"What was the party for after all RK?"
"Your birthday."
"My bir…you knew?"
"Sasuma can be helpful at times."
RK shrugged his shoulders as he sat on the ground and leaned his back against the bed. RK patted on the ground beside him, gesturing for me to join him. I hesitated at first but then went to sit beside him on the ground.
"Happy birthday biwi."
RK turned to stare at me and smiled. I smiled back and we locked eyes silently. I watched as his eyes lowered towards my lips and then slowly back up to her my again. By this point, every hair on my body was standing on end.
"What'd you forget at home?"
I spoke quickly, trying not to get carried away. RK laughed and shook his head as he stared at the other side of the room.
"Your gift."
"My gi…you got me a gift?"
"It was the least I could do after everything I've put you through."
"What do you mean RK?"
"Nothing. You should get some sleep, I don't think we'll be getting any help until morning comes."
"RK?"
I refused to back down. RK slowly looked back towards me and stared directly into my eyes, as though admiring them for the first time.
"You have beautiful eyes."
He spoke with a soft tone. I smiled and lowered my eyes as I felt her cheeks flushing red.
"Thank you."
I spoke in a low voice and then I felt his fingers below my chin as he raised my face to stare into my eyes once again. My heart began to race as I fell into a trance. He began to slowly close in on me, when suddenly a ringing filled the air and interrupted whatever moment we were having. We both snapped out of our trance and RK reached into his pocket to pull out his phone. Realizing he had his phone all along, I yelled.
"YOU HAD YOUR PHONE ALL ALONG?!"
RK ignored me and answered his phone.
"Bittuji, Madhu and I are lost. I don't know where we are, it's your job to figure that out, don't ask me! It's some cabin. Yes Bittuji…we're stranded."
