You see THIS is exactly what I've been banging on about...what you are saying in your original topic and above. The fact that:
There are people here...forget people ...GIRLS, WOMEN, who are supporting and/or justifying what rk is doing. Or just waiting for him to change and while they wait..excuse it all by saying its just a tv show. Its the MENTALITY of these women and girls that is far more worrying that what rk is shown to be doing.
@Oh_No_Soaps (by the way I really like your username- very aptš)- You see, what is even more worrying is that some people actually do not want RK to change at all. RK is different, RK is unique, RK is interesting the way he is and they do not want him to become a caring, supportive lover at all. They say they don't want him to become "pallu-pakdne wala/joru ka ghulam/puppy-lover" types like Suraj of DABH (I don't watch that show, but I recall the pre-launch promos asking why a man was a good son while supporting his parents and a joru ka ghulam while supporting his wife. Which is really ironic, considering) because a supportive, respecting lover is apparently a very uncool thing to be. And it's girls who say this.
And you know Indian TV shows, the only way a male lead can be interesting is apparently if he is a angry man rude to the world in general and especially disrespectful to the female lead. They clearly can not think of ways to make him interesting by adding other dimensions from wide world in the plot. So I guess we are stuck with the hero bulldozing and steamrollering the heroine to keep his ego happy.
As for this just being tv show- everybody knows people take their definition of coolness (especially when it comes to behaviour with the opposite sex but also extending to dress, style, spouting dialogues etc. etc.) from movies and tv-show. So clearly the effect of a tv show extends beyond the idiot box. And Rishabala fans know it too, or they wouldn't get so upset and sometimes downright hostile with our criticizing of a fictional character.
(P.S: An irrelevant question perhaps: I've never been a Twihard, but is this how Team Edward and Team Jacob behave in their forums?)
