This week it's pretty clear that the IPL has started affecting the General Entertainment Channels (GECs) as their ratings have taken a plunge. However interestingly, Sony Entertainment Television has managed to get better numbers than Colors.
Star Plus as usual remains number one with 284 GRPs. Zee TV maintains its second position with 185 GRPs while Sony surged ahead of Colors to bag the third position with 164 GRPs. Colors' tally stands at 156 GRPs, thus making it no 4 on the list. SAB TV and Life OK maintain their fifth and sixth positions with 137 and 110 GRPs respectively. Sahara One gets 18 GRPs. Here it would be interesting to mention that when all major GECs have seen a slump in numbers, Sony is the only channel which has seen a hike in ratings.
Ratings of Channels:
Star Plus 284 (291)
Zee TV 185 (207)
Sony 164 (175)
Colors 156 (191)
SAB 137 (159)
Life OK 110 (119)
Sahara One 18 (22)
Moving on to the shows, Diya Aur Baati Hum maintains its first position with 4.2 TVR. Pyaar Ka Dard and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stand second and third in the number race with 3.5 and 3.3 TVR respectively.
The most interesting change that we've noticed is the rating of Balika Vadhu. The numbers of this show had been dipping for a while with Pratyusha Banerjee being replaced by Toral Rasputra as Anandi but this time the show slumped further with mere 2.7 TVR in week 14. However, fans of Madhubala can rejoice as it has emerged as the number 1 show on Colors with 2.9TVR.
