I have been holding in this rant for quite some time and I believe it is time that I let it out before I burst...
Ever since the revenge track began, I have noticed numerous posts bashing the CVs of the show in some form or another. Granted that this has not been to everyone's liking and everyone has a right to express their distaste for certain elements of the show, but I believe there is a huge difference between criticizing the storyline and bashing the CVs.
One thing people need to understand is that this is their show. They have the absolute right to show whatever they wish. Asking the CVs to end a certain track or begin another is like asking a writer to change their book to match the reader's taste. The whole point in watching a show or reading a book is to experience another person's vision of the world. What fun would any show or book be if it merely regurgitated our personal views? How would we grow and learn? Moreover, no two viewers/readers have the same likes and dislikes. Who should the writers cater to? Before the revenge track came along, the very same people were accusing the CVs of making the show too predictable and boring with eternal Rishbala love. Damned if you do and damned if you don't!
We all complain about the interminable saas-bahu dramas with their predictable storylines and ghise-pite dialogues, but when we see something daring and new, we scream bloody murder. I was pleasantly surprised and absolutely thrilled to see such a unique storyline with such nuanced and multi-layered characters, which reflected something approaching the reality of everyday life. The dialogues are just fabulous! However, what I admire most is the candour and the sensitivity with which the CVs have tackled issues affecting the modern world such as women's evolving role in society (particularly Indian society), the changing family unit, the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor, celebrity etc.
I don't want the CVs to feel that their interesting and refreshingly original work has gone unnoticed, so I dedicate this thread to the CVs of Madhubala. Thank you for all your hard work and showing us the different shades of life in your wonderfully unique fashion!! 🥳🥳
