Love you for this post and I am adding my thoughts on the matter too!

The CVs seem to think that simply showing RK broken, in agony and going downhill will suffice as Redemption! I think that's why they came up with Paddo cursing him, so that when it comes true everyone's happy that justice has been served and audience may start liking him again! They got that wrong, bcoz all true Rk fans want is him to realize how much pain he has caused her and strive selflessly for her forgiveness and happiness whatever and whoever that maybe in! That does not seem to be the order of the day! Them taking the curse route is really silly, bcoz to begin with he was already living a cursed life as they have reiterated over the past months! The man could not even sleep at nights without drinking, before Madhu came along! So with or without the curse, he would still be back in hell, by throwing away the one solace and joy (madhu)of his life! So the curse does not work for me. Period. So CVs come up with something better like realization and reliving memories of how much pain he has caused Madhu, instead of this mindless jealousy and agony, only to be comforted by yucky Dipali!

Just another thought that came to my mind, if this was revenge alone on his part, he really did Madhu a favor by revealing it so soon and letting her off the hook , not to mention not abused physically ! Atleast she was able to gather her life together and start afresh! He could have easily kept her at his beck and call all his life without bothering to really acknowledge his real feelings for her! So in fact this revelation of revenge, has turned the tables, making Madhu stronger and led to RK's own destruction! He's the one who lost by destroying the one thing he needed the most, all of his life! Basically he could have had his cake and eaten it too, but he decided not to! His subconscious mind not allowing him to do that to the woman he had unconsciously fallen for! We will have to train our minds to think like that, in order to buy and live with the whole revenge drama! This way, he is now forced to acknowledge and accept that he loves her selflessly and she is the centre of his life, unlike earlier when he was self obsessed and self-centred! The ideal way it should be if they ever get back together again, instead of the act and the overdose of sweetness we were putting up with , after the love confession especially!
Dont know how much sense I made, went on rambling for a while there!

Charu,

@red: I think now this is not about trusting his actions. Aren't we all convinced enough that he truly loves her? So, now the mistrust issue is gone from the picture. I think that much of faith we can put in his love for Madhu. The problem here is his EGO 😡, which makes him cover up every good thing that he does for her. He very cleverly comes up with excuses like today, which convey that all that he does is for his own sake and gives a damn to anyone else. His brain is working overtime now, as he has to convince everyone that nothing has changed for him, and that he still is the same self-obsessed person, who cannot think beyond himself. And because of this overworking brain, his original intelligent and shrewd persona has taken a hit.

@bold: I cannot deny that MB team is incredibly creative. If they can convincingly play out the revenge plot, I am sure they can play out the redemption track as well and paint RK positive again. The only catch is, they need to pace this up a bit, before RK lovers chose to be indifferent to his actions. Right now, its kind of difficult for me to even say that his redemption has started. 😕 If they think that showing RK going downhill like this, drinking away to madness, breaking furniture and crockery is redemption, they are hugely mistaken. So, they need to start his transition towards becoming a better man. As to how will RK be painted positive again.
  • He has to realize that him dying from inside everyday and his suffering, is the collateral damage of his prem game, as he will now see the woman he loves spending time with another man and from his POV, moving on with NAYA PYAR in her life.
  • This in turn will make him realize the enormity of pain and heartbreak inflicted by him on her.
  • This should hopefully make him realize that he loves her.
  • And this where he will finally accept his feelings and put in efforts to win her back. He has to let go off that ego and self obsession and make Madhu the center of his life. He has to strive for her forgiveness.
  • He has to learn to be selfless enough to let her go away from him and not force himself in his life, if that is where her happiness is.
  • Then the resurrection would be complete.

I have gone mad today. Rambling a lot.

@amrithas:

Thank you. 😳 Love you for your response. I am actually in a very ranting mode today. Hence staying away from EDT.

Loved your post here. I just now typed out an almost similar response to Charu's comment here. 😆 Glad that our views match so much. 😳

A very sensibe post made on neutral grounds!👏
But i dont even find radhaji sensible..never..she never tried to mend her relation with her son, after the humiliation madhu had she is still being selfish to unite them and the worst part she can never sense dips intentions towards rk..
I stopped thinking logic the day they started this revenge drama. Its just a daily soap at the end of the day..
I again wanna say its an awesome post! 👍🏼

Good one Ananya 😊 You have put all the characters really well ( I will read it all over again😊...its really good )

I might not be able to write about all, but about the much awaited redemption part and RK-Dips scenes, I feel makers want to create obnoxious reaction from audience about where RK's Misdeeds have taken him to!...The scene would not have had such an impact had Radha or Bittu would have been with RK, but with Dips, it creates DRAMA. Look at the forum, there is hardly anyone who will approve of such scenes!!..About redemption, I feel makers are somewhere trying to vindicate Padmini's curse 🤔...RK has started to feel pain already, and perhaps through this emotional recess, he will tread the path of pain which he has inflicted on Madhu too. So its a long process, I feel, before he will reach the stage to question his own EGOistic self and would have to choose to surrender in love or drown in Ego further, leading to another revenge 😆

PS: I hope I made some sense🤔 if not, royally ignore!😆 ...of late, I have made peace with this thought that RK ka kuch nahe ho sakta😆...so I dont burn my blood over him now😆

PSS: Girl u write really well ...its a delight to read ur analysis !😊

I agree completely.
I was so so happy with the revenge track happening but the execution has been really bad and MEIEJ has lost it's magic. I don't think characterisation is a problem, but i feel that bond we shared with the show is missing. I mean, this last week was so ANNOYING! Like others, even i have stopped connecting with she show now. I like bits and pieces of the show but cannot like the whole episode now like before. It's high time Cvs get back on track. Atleast redeem RK for us if not for MB.

I couldn't agree more.
I'm not sure which tangent the track is headed on...but increasingly the characters have gone from being larger than life to becoming unreal to now almost bizarre!

I could understand RK wanting to take revenge. He is too big and has too much ego..to let something he'd consider as a slight to him and his stature..go. But the way he has been leaping over 'emotions of all kinds and all sizes' has been baffling. At this point it seems that in his heart he knew that his relationship with Madhu has surpassed his need for revenge...especially since within weeks he now cries like a baby at every little thing!

Even Madhu hasn't been spared. I want to see a courageous heroine who is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in but the girl in the current track seems more masochistic and foolhardy than anything else. Picking up some random kid in a jungle being pursued by goons and then assuming the world is out to get her and the kid and challenging the don with no backup..nothing...lecturing him and then after all the drama returning to work..as if nothing happened?!?!

I am a die-hard fan so at this present time I'm not sure whether to just pull my hair out or cry in desperation.

I think I'll start writing my own parallel story instead.
But thank you for your post.
I'm atleast glad that I'm not alone in this frustration.

Hoping for the best now but not holding my breath for it...

My attempt or rather rant to make sense of the drama shown post revenge and particularly this week, in MEIEJ land.

Disclaimer: Its a long ramble.

Is there even a single character in MBverse, in their senses who know what they want out of their life?

There is our self-righteous heroine Madhubala Shamsher Malik, who is a chronic case of Stockholm syndrome, always finding new ways to hang around her captor. She won the three day challenge. She showed her ex-husband his right place by rubbing reality into his face. Didn't she quit her job and wander into the jungle in her pensive mode, wherein she heroically saves a kid from goons, only to find out that all of this was a trap by the kid's father(the deadly gangster: Sultan) for his gang war? Fearless to the extent of stupidity that she is, she makes herself comfortable in the DON's house, blinding herself to the potential danger of being around a lunatic father who uses his son as bait, and develops a bond with the kid. If that is not enough, we have her lecturing the DON on his parenting.

Why is she back on sets RKs sets? Oh right! We now have this game of indifference between the two.

There is the typical TRP mother Padmini, who, conveniently fails to knock sense into her daughter's brain. Madhu is hiding things, running away from her family, retreating into her own self, by emotionally closing herself. But, how can a mother in Padmini not sense this? She really thinks Madhu is being normal? How can she fail to see that Madhu is withdrawing herself from this world, evading all their questions. Is it so difficult for her to see that her daughter is not at all moving on and just burying everything deep inside her and that it will be impossible to move on, until she breaks free from the crazy whim of lurking around RK? I am sorry, but Padmini's reactions since this revenge fiasco are beyond my comprehension. She needs to get a whip, to free her daughter from this RK mania.

There is the heroine's elder sister, Trishna, who seems to have grown so much brain overnight, that viewers find it almost difficult to handle. One day, she questions her sister, in all possible ways, to ensure that her relationship with her ex-husband is never going to be revived under any circumstances. And then there is today, where she is the one who divulges his efforts to locate her and his turmoil while she was missing, as if almost hoping to see some positive reaction from her sister.

There is our so called HERO/PROTAGONIST, RK: The Superstar, who can degrade himself to any levels in front of his mother and his assistant, to cover up his vulnerable side. He comes up with some pathetic C/D whatever grade dialogues to justify his concern and hysteria for his missing wife. Oh! He even dreams about her, leaving him for another man, while the man seems to be haunting him with his eyes. (RK knows those eyes for sure). If that is not enough, the scary element is added to his dream, with him foreseeing the man throwing a dagger at him. A sure shot foreboding for the upcoming track. The dream leaves him terrified for the thought of losing her to another man, and guess who he seeks solace in? His ex-flame come SIL come his film's heroine/vamp Dips Sikki Bhatia. The scene has left a permanent distaste in my mouth.

To our mercy, we have Sikky Bhatia witness this scene. Sikky, I have never loved you more. Please, throw your wife out of your life, before we are tortured by the bCVs to see a track reviving RK-Dips relationship.

Now comes the most confounding scene. How is it possible for this man to be so indifferent and obnoxious around the woman, who makes him lose his senses, gives him spine-chilling premonitions and makes him naked in front of his ex-flame (whom he loathes to the core)? I mean, is it even doable in reality? How many people can pull off that kind of an act? Why do you have show this contrast CVs? What cue are you trying to give to the viewers? And what kind of an ego is this, that fails him to listen even to his brain, making him appear less humane with each passing day? Once a shrewd and intelligent character, has now been reduced to a weak and vulnerable man.

Why does he feel so agitated when Madhu discredits his concern for her, or tries to distance him when he touches her? What kind of a control freak trait is this, to always keep her under his check, even after having crushed her heart into pieces? Open your eyes Rishabh Kundra. You aren't in your rights to exercise your control over her anymore. Hence, you better keep burning in the fire that you lit for her, and which now its engulfing you, until you man up and admit your misdeeds.

Sikki and Radhaji were the only characters who came across bearable today. I feel for both of them. Today, I don't even feel for Madhu.

Sultan, is a man on mission. Looks like he is going to rope in Madhu for his son, at gunpoint, in broad daylight, in front of her husband. What more do we need to conclude that Madhu is his bait to reach RK? RK recognizes those eyes for sure, coz they are haunting him since he peeped into them through that car window. But looks like, we have a jealousy/insecurity track coming up. I don' think anything is actually going to happen between Sultan and Madhu. It will only be conjuring up in RKs head and push him more towards destruction. Realization doesn't look in near picture.

RKs dream today, could be a foreboding or just a trap for the viewers, for CVs to throw a googly of an entirely different track. After all, they have always maintained mystery about future tracks and have executed all the plots like a thriller.

My complains with the plot execution:
After his scary dream today, RK was terrified and whimpering like a small kid, wallowing in his pain, who of all the people puts down his defenses in front of Deepali. My question to CVs, why Deepali? Why did we not have Bittuji or Radhaji witness this scene? This would have at least started the journey for his realization. Haven't you done enough damage to RKs character already? You say that the redemption has already started, and that if we can'e see it, you have failed. So far, yes indeed you have failed. You are painting him darker with each passing episode. Where do I see the light for his resurrection? How long is he going to be in denial, coming across as an insane man? Once a strong, shrewd and intelligent character, has now been reduced to a weak and vulnerable man.

If you want to show such scenes between RK and Deepali, why would I even care to watch the show? I would much rather have Madhu move on with another man, instead of rooting for RK and Madhu reunion. And Rishbala and RK induced drama being my reason for watching the show, I would give a damn to continue watching such UGLY drama created by RK.

Now, one request to CVs. It is high time that you actually show a love realization/acceptance track for RK. I do not care if Rishbala unite sooner or later. But it his high time, that RK realizes his mistakes, his loss, the enormity of hurt inflicted by him on Madhu and at least starts resurrecting himself to be a better man. I do not care much what track you have planned between RK-Sultan(though I am looking forward to it). But, this perplexing plot line which has no coherence whatsoever, is making me lose my interest in RKs character., and consequently this show. It is high time you actually bring back your so called PROTAGONIST of the show in white light, and show him as an actual PROTAGONIST. As a viewer, how long can I continue watching a show, where I get to see nothing but a despicable and vulnerable hero? What would be my motivation to tune into your show everyday?

P.S: I have written this post with completely unbiased POV towards both the leads. I have pointed out both their flaws equally. This is just an attempt from my side to shed lights on their confounding behavior and vent out my frustration. Do not bash me or make my post a war zone by taking sides for lead characters. I would appreciate if you express your POV from neutral grounds.

MB land: A dwelling of inscrutable characters

Superb title and post, Ananya.👏
The revenge twist being built up at the expense of their best storyline till then seems to indicate a creativity lull rather than any brilliance.
The CVs have ruined stellar characterization and destroyed logic for a track of the sort seen in umpteen serials till now.🤢
Kudos on such an outstanding post.⭐️
