biggest catch of this serial was that we will never be able to make

Re. the first para, when the serial gets over, its re-telecast rights are either with the production house or the channel.
If the channel owns those rights, but the PH is upset, the PH could perhaps give an ending that might leave people disinterested in rewatching most or all of the series.
That isn't even remotely the scenario here.
This is in the middle of the serial, and the TRPs were great.
But the entire romance track was delightful but has been announced to be a semi-pretence.
Those episodes are still great to watch, but where they were previously guaranteed to have reasonable viewership for nostalgic value once the serial is over, now anyone who would have definitely watched may or may not watch those eps.
