I would also suggest Kasautii Zindagi Kay, but it's just way too many episodes and you might get too invested in the lead pair only to have your heart tragically break beyond repair by the end of the show. It's my all time favourite show... you could give Prem-Mukti a try if you want, they only last like, 200 - 300 episodes? Of course, that small story ends tragically too.

Prem and Mukti were gorgeous together. To this day I could seriously tell Ekta off for messing up their story.

I'm also suggesting Tere Liye - absolutely loved this one, such a finely knit story with minimal drama, and Harshad was fantastic ofcourse...

I'd also suggest Gulaal (see my avi) - one of my favs cinematographically (so beautifully filmed) and Manasi Parikh was fantastic as Gulaal

Geet was nice, though I didn't watch till the end cause it got repetitive (theres only a certain number of times someone can take that MAAHHII background tune)

Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin - my all time absolute FAV hindi drama, if you haven't seen it, you really must...has that whole love hate thing..armaan sir and jassi, sigh...miss those days!

It's a very good show! I think you'll like it! I'm trying to think of more. I don't know whether you'll like it, but I loveee Pyaar Ke Do Naam Ek Radha Ek Shyaam. Radha/Shyam basically have a love/hate relationship in their second life. The whole concept revolves around reincarnation. The series is only 103 episodes long and all the episodes can be found on Youtube!

This is a great thread! I'm going to check out your suggestion, good to know all the episodes are on youtube!

I hated Ekta SO MUCH during KZK. For separating Anurag-Prerna, for separating Prem-Mukti, for separating P2-Saksham. Argh, HATED Ekta during those days. When I look back at it though, Anurag-Prerna's separation does make sense (even though my heart always breaks thinking about it), because the dard ka rishta was emphasized throughout their relationship. Prem-Mukti on the other hand, why, oh, why did Ekta have to separate those two lovers? Just to make our hearts break a million times over. I love tragic love stories, but my heart was just so invested in KZK and its characters. =(

Aww well thank's for telling about that sad endings! I hate the non-happily-ever-afters, I just get too attached to the characters 😔

Do not even mention Prem and Mukti. My hatred for Ekta just intensifies! It has been so many years and I still cannot get over their tragic ending :(
