THE PAST
A Pool of Memories!
The auditorium filled with the loud clapping. The thunder-some clapping of the people made the immense blue platform arranged with small glowing bulbs shine brighter.
The clapping stopped at an abrupt- all heads turning in anxiously at the figure that trailed in white and blue dress. The auditorium felt pin drop silence with the ruffling of the bangles of the enigma walking in.
Her long velvety hair bouncing on and then getting placed on her waist perfectly with each step she took.
A soothing music started as the spot light fell over the lady standing on the platform with a charismatic smile adorning her face.
The thunder-some clapping which died down looking at the beauty regained its strength again as the lady started tapping her feet to the soothing music backwards.
Mera jhumka utha ke laaya re yaar ve, jo gira tha bareli ke bazaar me
(Her hands perfectly picturing the moves, she showed her ear rings as the crowd sprung on its foot)
Main to thumka lagaake sharma gayi
(Her waist swayed showing off her silvery skin; mesmerizing as if never seen before)
Boli ghoongar bandha denge mein aa gayi
The blue belling at the bottom of her dress produced a jingling sound as she danced along)
Mujhko nachaake nachle, aaja nachle nachle mere yaar tu nachle
(She turned her face; her eyes speaking innocence and emotions that were never seen before from the people who praised along to her performance)
She stopped dancing for a split of second eventually the cheering of the audience dying down. Her eyes filled with unknown tears she regained her composure again and moved her hands to the music
Jhanak jhanak jhankaar
O nachle nachle mere yaar tu nachle, abb to luta hai baazar
Sabko bhulaake nachle, aaja nachle
The hall echoed with the dazzling performance of the diva dancing on the platform. Just then the doors creaked opened as she twirled causing her heavy embroidery lehanga revolve around in circles.
A brooding young, his eyes captured with his hefty ray bans made his entry into the auditorium. The cheers of the people raised by ten times on his arrival.
The lady on the stage spun around trying to steal a glance at the source of cheer that she never received. The enthusiasm on her face dying down. The enigmatic expressions rising above her dance. She increased the speed with which she was dancing spinning around like never before.
With each spin she took her eyes filled up with memories that she abandoned years back. The same crispy smirk that glanced at her now. The same ecstatic attitude that she despised off.
Her legs felt paining to her moves. The background dancers stopped their form as they felt their lead dancer dancing to unknown rhythms. Her each move brought her memories back.
"Madhu, keep away your eyes from him", her mind ordered her along but her poor heart peeked to see him gazing at her. Each passing second made her memories become stronger.
"Biwi ho tum meri, apni manmani chala sakta hoon", her mind dashed into the old memories. The man pushing her against his chest grasping her body in his hands. Her heart beats increasing their speed.
His eyebrows elevated a bit, as he sat on the front VIP seats of the auditorium welcoming the evening. Her strong yet now feeble legs didn't stop. His gaze got more transfixed on her with his gaze travelling upon her whole body.
"Pyaar ke liye bhooka hoon, kahi suna tha biwi ka kaam hota hai is dil ko sambhalna", her mind again sprung to the memories. Her body lying on the bed as he slowly removed her dori resulting in the remaining of her blouse getting untied. Her fleece sari slipping out from her body with each passing second showing off her perfect curves.
Her eyes got filled up with unwashed tears. Each tears resembling her of her past.
"Dil hai ki maanta nahi tumhe chodne Madhu, par dimag, dimag to apna khel khel kar hi rahegi", her mind froze to the memory of the final incident that stroked her mind. Her limbs started trembling to the harsh memories of being abandoned by her own husband.
The before strong legs now crashed down to the earth not anymore standing to the past. She fell on her knees on the platform as the before clapping people stood up to give her a standing ovation.
She opened her eyes to the applause falling on her, her mind again trailing to the figure clapping his hands rhetorically. She tried to divert her eyes but "dil hai ki maanta nahi".
