I knew yday, I would love the Maa-Beta scene and it will be for the actors. Both of them were awesome.
As usual Radha disappointed me… but RK's vulnerable state moved me to tears. Watching a man of with that physic crumble saying 'main thak gaya hoon, maa' was heartbreaking. Imagining the pain this man has carried with him for years is gut wrenching. As he stood there, he didn't know where his life was headed. He had everything planned till an hour back; he was going away from everything that was fake according to him with a woman he loves who was willing to walk down any path aslong as he was with her. All his problems would be done away with; he will be relieved of all his aches and pretence. But, his soulmate closed his escape route(thank god!) and suddenly the fatigue of all the years caught up with him… he conceded, he was tired! But he found renewed energy the moment his mom told him that his relationship with Madhu is his destiny and blessed by the almighty and he shouldn't let anyone spoil it. He walked away to give love and life another chance. That is what I love about this guy, he is willing to give it his all, yet again even though it comes with its share of insecurity. There is a difference between trust and insecurity. He trusts Madhu with his life, but he is insecure. Madhu needs to understand and so does he… Madhu has won his trust it is upto him to overcome his insecurity.
There were some beautiful moments in the Maa-Beta scene. RK trying to mouth the word 'maa' was epic... the word was at the tip of his tongue… a word that comes so naturally to all of us was a earth shifting moment for RK. VD captured the hesitancy so well. The hug ofcourse was done well(would have liked Radha gather him in her arms than the other way around. But them again it is Radha we are talking about!) The moment he put his head in his mom's lap was beautiful. She lulled him to sleep with a song. I wish she had insisted on going home and putting him to sleep… the man needed to sleep… everything else could have fallen into place a few hours later.
Now to coming to my complains with Radha… she was as self-centred as ever! It hurt more because I was wishing she would be different after she got her son back.
1) Why did her hand stop midway and withdraw when she saw RK bleeding? So what if he refuses her again??? She was thinking of his refusal when she needs to be thinking of his wound??? It was only after he hugged her and called her 'Maa' did she ask him what happened.
2) Doesn't she care to find out what happened that this guy showed up at the temple, searching for her and allowed himself to shatter infront of her? She asked him once… but did she get through to him to unburden himself? No! Thankfully she held him for a while as he slept (calmed down) and then went to her dukhi kahani of having waited for him, prayed for him! She said something like he should have seen beyond his anger and hurt, she was always there! I fail to understand how a mother chose to wait in the side-lines as her child suffered and destroyed himself every minute of his life🤔.
3) It was so evident something was terribly bothering him and just like he showed up, her son took her blessing and headed off for something very important. What would be a normal reaction? Worrying what was bothering her child again… but na… she was relieved/ecstatic that she got her son back. I am sure she will head back to danka marofy and tell Madhu forgetting to ask again what was her son worried about🤔!
To her credit, the one good thing Radha told RK was to hold on to Madhu… she is the blessing in your life, our lives! I feel sorry for RK, this is as good as RK will get it comes to his mother. And I will be ok if RK is able find some peace after reconciling with his mom. However, I am glad Padmini is there to shower him with what he misses out.
The Maa-Beta scene gets a thumbs up for brilliant portrayal of vulnerability of child infront of his mother. Both the actors gave one of their best performances today.
Madhu-Dipali scene was crisp and to the point. I loved Madhu's attitude, she didn't mince words or sugar coat anything. The strength of her character shone through. Madhu's stance today and hopefully forever was Dipali's failure. Madhu not shedding loads of tears is a major relief.
Precap… Hmmm lets see what is in store! As much as I believe RK owes Madhu more than a sincere apology… I didn't like seeing him defeated, vulnerable, asking (almost pleading?!?) to be accepted😒. May be the 'I hate you' will get him fighting for his love with conviction and passion.
