I am guessing is it Madhu's letter...then he will be happy...but he looked sad...

I was confused, if it had been Madhu's letter, he would've smiled.

But rather he seemed upset, distraught and hid it in his pocket after seeing Madhu.

It was a short note (you could see through the paper), I'm guessing...

a checklist for everything he has to do before him and Madhu elope...LOL kidding!

I was thinking a note from either his dad.

But then I figured it's a letter from his mom five years ago, wishing him congratulations on his first shooting.

He remembered his mom, he didn't want Madhu to know that, and so he hid the letter.
