As regards the other first-lead you mentioned, his flaws and good points have always been unchanged at the base. It's just a matter of whether he's having a weak phase or not.

But in RK's case, pretty much the entirety of the phase that got the TRP audience for MEIEJ *cannot* be sold as an act.

That phase went on for months, and more importantly, it was most of the duration of the series.

If that long a percentage of the series-length is shown as pretence good enough to fool the audience, no track in MEIEJ would ever be believed again.

He has to be pretending *now*, not before.

And they have to give a damn good reason *why* he is acting, and it had better get the TRP audience sympathy.

Either RK is pretending *now*, and actually has some major problem that the TRP audience can understand and sympathize with, or maybe some supposedly incurable illness (which will turn out to be curable after putting both him and Madhu through the wringer).😳😊

Or he was pretending all this time. In which case we may be hearing the deathknell of the series.
A very specific sort of miserable tracks - the ones which have a guarantee of turning out happily - are a TRP success.😊
Any other sort of misery takes the depression without any hope of relief, and has a guarantee of flop.

The best TRPs come through for saas-bahu, and then for love-tracks.😊
Maybe the audience had a surfeit of too many years and too many serials of hero or heroine at each other's throats for months.😕

And we need a secure TRP base so that the stardom track can then start off from a safe viewership point.

The TRP audience will be lost if RK gets more complicated than he has been clearly shown as so far.🤢
They don't like complicated plotting characters beyond a certain point, especially not if they liked and believed and are then left dangling that maybe they were fooled almost the entire duration.

RK has been complex within acceptable limits.😊
Beyond that, and MEIEJ will end up following so many other overly cerebral shows into closed status because most of the audience was uninterested in thinking too deeply about half-an-hour's worth of entertainment.

We love overthinking about this series, but it's the audience that does *not* that can keep serials running or cause them to go defunct.

On a different note we have seen much more worse and despicable leads in other shows primarily in Ekta shows but what is unusual is that they almost seemed justified in thier own twisted way. The long redemption track would almost kick in at the same time. The ladylove would go through a merry-go-round of other marraiges before ending back with her supposed love. See if RK is dark then his punishment should match with his crime while Madhu should get respite...What is the punishment for something unforgivable (unless it is with good reason) and what can be a respite for Madhu?

If we are looking at Ekta story model then here is how we proceed-Madhu becomes desensitized to RK and becomes chummy with his professional rival who has a good heart and is truly in love with her. Now RK has everything but he burns in yearning and jealousy. We have constant power struggle between both the guys with finally RK breaking and begging Madhu to take him back. It is revealed that it was all a plan from Madhu to teach RK a lesson...we are back to romance mode but wait- the second lead had fallen for Madhu so he either sacrifices or it is second round of battle for love...and so it continues to go on and on.

The other fact is viewers do not like to be made fool of...twist is ok but saying that some one did a complete turn around irks a lot of people. Trps will be high while the viewers are trying to figure out what just happened but then they will loose interest.

My point is that unless they come up with a good enough reason and sell that to us and at the same time kick up some sort of redemption ...viewers won't buy Rishbala ever coming back together...that implies a tragic story with another male lead for Madhu. I am okay with it but then I have seen that a thousand times before.

Even in BV, the initial plan was to get Jagya and Anandi together but Jagya's action were so wrong, the masses were not agreeable to it and a character Shiv that was introduced as cameo ended up becoming second lead.

@red,WOW Puja, Mb totally Ekta style 😆 either ways it's gonna be sadist and a long long drag story before the two of them end up together...🥱 disease or redemption or another lead...he took 6 months to take revenge from her, in 2 days he will start missing her and another 2 days, mission Madhu manao 🤢

@blue..the problem with MB is that there is no good enuf convincing reason for RK to turn negative...if these 6 months, he was trying to destroy her, by hook or crook, making her life hell then i was okay with it tht he did plan something n made her life hell and left her...but 6 months??? 😲 6 months he was ONLY acting??? 🤢 the very thought of it gives me creeps and i'm forced to think that he's suffering from some mental disorder..bec. a normal person cannot help but RESPECT / like the person who did so much for him and invested her emotions in him... Jagya Anandi track was dragged to a year (and a half? i dun know) in which they showed in detail what all Anandi went through n under what circumstances Jagya left her , how he got involved with the other woman and whatever followed...they cud not show Jagya coming back to Anandi , although Anandi might be ready for it 😆 it wud have sent a wrong message...

the problem with MB is that if they go ahead with this redemption track, like u & Leela said, viewers will feel cheated and not like/trust any track from now on...I, myself will be disgusted to watch them romancing 🤢 and certainly, not watch the old episodes 😭 i'll hate them now 🤢may be those who will start watching the serial afresh will like them neither am I happy watching a Devdas RK rooting for Madhu , nor do i want lovesick Madhu or revengeful Madhu who will ULTIMATELY fall for RK ...do you want to watch anything like Madhu plotting a revenge against RK ? 🤢😆 bec. to run MB, they will have to show RK and Madhu in the same frame...

13 February 2013: Radha confronts RK, and says only time will tell who is actually been punished by the break up. RK unknowingly calls out for Biwi when he wakes up in the morning. He is on a denial mode that Madhu has now become a habit instead.

summary for today and tomorrow 🤢 thoda toh drama he cud have done

RK and Madhu will be coming face-to-face for Valentine's Day.

Probably the channel is having an event for each couple, and MEIEJ is the only serial on any channel that decided to put a negative track running through Valentine's Day.😡😕

The CVs have assured us that they will sort everything within the next week.😊

To hell with 'everything'.

Could they just show in *this* week that he is acting, and that there is a good reason?😊

It had better be a tremendous reason.😡

The romance track was going beautifully, TRPs were lovely. It was a perfect time to introduce the stardom track alongside.😳⭐️

And instead, we've suddenly gone from firm ground to quicksand.😭
