Stay safe...all you people in the East Coast. This too will pass.
Loved the discussion as usual.
I wrote a long rambling response, my son pressed something and the entire post disappeared😆
CVs are leaving us confused and irritated with filler episodes. I've noticed. Whenever MEIEJ has a dhasoo track coming up, the previous week is slow and filled with TP, almost as if they're all taking a break. I do wish they would understand that Rishbala moments do not fall into this category, we take them very seriously and not as fillers😡
On yesterday's episode, my twopenny's worth...
RK vs Rishabh
If the CVs play it right, the blending of RK and Rishabh will give us an exciting personality, egoistic, arrogant, self absorbed, yet, creative, passionate, loving, vulnerable. RK the star can never ever change, his style cannot be diluted. if you read any interviews of superstars (SRK, AB, Hrithik) or their wives, they always say...the superstar is diifferent at home, the star needs his space, my wife keeps me grounded. Imagine having to deal with so much mass adulation, love, the star does live in a surreal world, cut off from reality because of his elevated status.
I wish they would show more of the surperstar status of RK, and then show his gradual change or rather the settling in of his restless, eccentric, unstable self brought about by the one who sees him as an ordinary human being at home, his wife madhu. It would give a perspective to his change.
Yesterday I saw a blend...ego when dealing with the Inspector, loved his smirk, attitude when talking of his stepfather, grudging respect for his wife's family. Full marks to Vivian for bringing it across.
Shamsher-Padmini-RK-Madhu
Padmini has seen glimpses of RK- the human...studio night when he came looking for madhu, his interest in Malik's recovery over and above the 40 lakhs. More importantly, she has discovered and understood madhu's growing attachment and in a subtle manner, she's trying to accept it. I noticed when madhu tells Radhaji in the hospital...hamare rishabh ko kuch nahin hoga, Padmini looks at her puzzled. Because she is a girls' mother, she must be hoping against hope that the marriage ends up happy.
I felt so bad for Shamsher...when he saw Madhu smiling, his smile was so full of love and affection for his child. In spite of himself, he was smiling at her sitting at her first pooja as a married woman, like any girl's father would, it is a poignant moment.
However, he refuses to recognise that when RK came down with madhu, they both looked comfortable, he refuses to acknowledge that RK touched Padmini's feet, the same person RK has insulted so many times earlier. He is consumed by his thoughts of revenge. I read in another post...why shamsher, why spoil his character, what is the diff b/w him and RK...I say...EXACTLY MY DEAR. RK reacted to a particular situation with violence, Shamsher is also reacting with violence...Madhu needs to see this, for her to accept RK completely.
RK-Madhu
What can I say about my favourite couple?? They have the seen the worst of each other, the best of each other, they are both now willing to acknowledge their attraction for each other, and somewhere the 'L' word is creeping in (love or lust, depends on the situation😊). They fight, argue it out, he gives in, she gives in...like a normal couple. He tries to make up by talking about how good she looks, knowing that she gave in to him, and is angry about it, I found it cute.
However, they are not a normal couple, they have so much excess baggage, with their own lives, with their loved ones, with each other. ...it will take a long time for them to trust each other. RK takes one step back by ordering her to change, she takes 3 steps back by refusing to. When they sit in the pooja, they are relaxed with each other, right?
Madhubala
Not a complex character on the surface...but she is. She is bound by her own heightened sense of right and wrong, misplaced loyalties, innocence, ego, stubborness...again, I always say she is a grey character...though everyone outside sees her as perfect, RK has seen her as less-than-perfect. So it kinda evens out. When she asks him, bandhke patak doge, she's actually poking fun at his penchant for control, RK smiles and plays along.
Her character test will begin when her loyalties are shaken, her trust is broken by the very people she lives for, and is willing to die for.
Now I just hope for everyone's sake, she sees malik when he attacks and overhears the full conversation b/w RK and Malik.
And this is where our beloved CVs' come in😈, I REFUSE TO ANALYSE THEM.
