I am back after a long hiatus and the sole reason for this is Madhubala.
Drama plays a big role in my life, I love it in large doses and the Indian television industry catered to it in just the right frequency. The last few serials on air did not really work for me but this one captured my attention from the first episode.
Madhubala has proven to be everything that can define drama. Beautiful production value, an ensemble cast that does not jar on my nerves yet, a damsel in distress (albeit a strong willed one) and a male protagonist who is a pompous ass but a traumatized one at that. While Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor remain stalwarts at playing the tough lover (oh, how I miss them!☺️), Vivian Dsena seems to have worked hard on all the weaknesses that he carried through Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani. His role loks promising with multiple shades and he seems to be doing a good enough job as RK so far. The most appealing part of the show to me is Drashti. She has matured and how. Direct influence from Indian Idol - DD brings in a lot of "thehraav" to her character and that is a treat to watch.
I saw all episodes until now in 2 days and I cannot wait for Monday.
The plot is eons away from reality, makes no sense at times but is such a wonderful piece of escapism so far. Imagine someone marrying a superstar like that...**drool** (only because I know after all the heartburn is a love that will stun RK & Madhu into capitulation). My only hope - the good they are showing so far will continue for a while...
