What made RK react the way he did?

So here I am not going to talk about who is at fault or not. But I want ppl to discuss and analyze RK's inner rage. Could he did not bare someone being indifferent towards his stardom and stand up against his actions? We already know he does not have a good family life because that was hinted at jail. When Trishna and Roma brought him food he told them it could not been from his home since his home is not a home it is just a flat. So clearly must have had some emotional problems already and Madhubala has affected him in a big emotional way. You can see that the he sits at home still thinking about her words. What is going on inside him internally? Why is he so obsessed with Madhu? He must be used to this as a superstar about big scandals happening with every detail of his life. If a superstar get into a car crash it is going to make news no matter what.

Nice post 😊. I have a bit of an essay prepared lol
The parts in bold are what really stands out about RK to me. So far, I don't think its just RK's ego that is fueling his rage.
It probably is (like you said) to a large extent due to how he was raised. RK doesn't know how to deal with emotion. Like others have pointed out, its not just the brighter emotions that he's a little puzzled by. Even pain is baffling. The way those prison flashbacks haunt him, almost like a nightmare. When he was making that bust of Madhu he had cut himself several times, but just looked on curiously at his hands. And then he worked his blood into the sculpture😕😕 Extra creepy btw.

I think his thwarted attentions toward Madhu is also fueling his rage. She's been so disinterested and annoyed (so it seems to him). He's out of his element. For all his supposed experience, maybe he doesn't get that what he is feeling is honest attraction. A famous and good-looking like Rishabh should have no problem with the women. But I think most of encounters (not relationships) with women are probably really ...disconnected. I see him as someone who treats it as a physical need (like using the toilet 😆), and doesn't think much of it otherwise. Or maybe even during (😃 who knows, right?)

Not only is he attracted to Madhu, she is not attracted back (as far as he is concerned). I think a part of him understands that they belong to each other, but even that part doesn't understand what that means, or how being together should look.

He is so very disjointed and disconnected from reality. Someone with that much money and power has the ability to create their own world. They can interact with others who agree with them and block out everyone who doesn't. I really liked June's Joker comparison, because it was spot on 👏. RK is the joker. He is the current villian of Madhu's story. No matter who comes along; Ballu, Bittu, etc. RK will the one she is engaged in a long-standing battle with. Rivals. Maybe that is the only type of long-standing relationship he is comfortable with. Or maybe that's the only one he believes to exist. Like "I'm not done with her. I blame her for this. She makes me feel crazy things". If he doesn't understand pain, he sure as hell doesn't understand happiness. Or delight. There was definitely a moment or two during their initial interactions, when it seemed like he was quite taken with her.

It's weird, but it's like Madhu is slowly bringing him to life. The physical process of regaining feeling in a part of the body that has gone numb is extremely hard and painful. So maybe all his rage is centered around pain. But not just pain from having been challenged and thwarted. Maybe its pain from being confused, and being forced to feel the unrecognizable. Stuff that she is unknowingly making him feel. (It sounds really puke-worthy, but oh well, this is supposed to be a love story right??⭐️)

But yeah, RK will only gain an understanding of the world (consequences etc) when all his "yes sir" people are rooted out of his life. He has too much of a buffer in place to be seeing the true impact of his actions. Prison was the first time his personally constructed RK world had been breached. It will take many more breaches like that I think, to shake him up.
I have a feeling Madhu is in for quite a ride . I hope that once she marries him, she gets her own "people". Maybe the journalist will be her confidant.

*Edited

Addition: It makes sense, but I still feel like I'm missing something. Like what will Madhu do when RK is in jail again? And what will RK do after that???? All this talk of numbness is really poetic, but I need to see what made him this way. I need an actual explanation for why he is what he is.

Thnx charishma for you beautiful eloquent! Very beautifully written!!!👏

I somewhere think he wants to get Madhu's attention the same way bullies do. Bullies who have troubled family life look for attention from some place else whether it be positive or negative? He is especially intrigued by Madhu because she was the first person he found that didnt care for RK the superstar but was more focused on RK the person. Even if she gave RK the person negative attention, he seemed to enjoy it. So he wants to continue to have this attention and I think that is what to him is "being together." He wants some kind of connection with her even if it is negative.

At the same time her words stung him because he knew they were true that is why he keeps thinking of them over and over again. I totally agree this is the beginning to his awakening to reality that fame, power and money are not everything. There are emotions, morality and principles.

p.s I love the part about the toilet, so spot on! I think he probs treated most woman like that too before he ran into our dear Madhu!

Yeah I'm excited for his father's entry too. I wonder what RK's reaction will be.

interesting posts gurtilal, charishma..i think u have both made pretty accurate assumptions. whatever your background, star or not...it is not normal to take 4 days of imprisionment in the way he has. especially bearing in mind he was treated like royalty whilst there. yet he is determined to ruin madhu. there could well be a lot of darkness in his past which shapes who he is now. he is clearly pretty lonely in his castle, apart from bittu there seems to be nobody around much. and we have not seen him in any kind of positive relattionship with anyone, be it a family member or friend.
what i think would be an interesting discussion though is, whether having bad childhood or whatever justifies treating people like dirt now in his adulthood. lots of people experience awful things in their past,,, but why should their problems impact others. people mature and develop, why hasnt rk?

quick note relating to the points you have, i found Rks flashbacks interesting. First you see him remembering his imprisionment. But interestingly these then turn into flashbacks of his physical proximity and experience of madhubala...her falling into his arms, her pallu attached to him baring some of her skin. its as if his inner self is contending with what he sees as adeep insult to his ego but also to his attraction to maddhubala the woman. there is the start of this conflict in him which is manifesting itself through even more atrocious acts in an attempt to overcome this conflict. what is he punishing madhu for? for the imprisionment, or the fact that she is getting under his skin without his permission. she is in his mind without his permission on a continual basis.

@Hessa85

you made some great points yourself. I agree you should not let your past experiences effect you but the truth is a lot kids who grow up in bad neighborhoods around violence and drug abuse are more likely to be violent and abuse drugs in the future. But RK prob has not experienced something as bad as that at worse he has been neglected and seen some bad relationships of his parents. Since he described his home as flat with no family atmosphere. So it will interesting to see his past be explored even though that will not make what he has done to Madhu and her family okay.

I agree about the attraction part. He is def fighting an attraction to Madhu as a woman and that his making him more angry since he doesnt want to have those kinds of feelings for her.

I know right?? Exactly. This is the reason why, although I admire RK's style and characterization (and sympathize with the lack of family values) I want to see RK take responsibility for his actions. I don't mind him being jailed again and again 😆. Basically, he needs it.

The 4 days in jail wasn't about him and Madhu engaging in some form of foreplay (although there was an element of that. No wait, my head is in the gutter again! 😆). It was about him paying for his crime. He needs to take responsibility to start maturing and developing.

I would also like to see him take responsibility for the damage done to Shamsher. Whether or not he is at fault is irrelevant. He needs to start understanding the repercussions of his actions. In this case it was egging Shamsher's anger on, standing there as bait (untouchable and unreachable) while Malik struggled to get close, and then giving Bittu (what seems to be) free reign.

I think the reason why RK hasn't progressed beyond his dysfunctional childhood is because he is a huge mega-star with legions of fans. He's not God, but he is capable of constructing his own world. Someone with that money, power, and fame has the ability to surround himself with people that only agree with him. And anyone that disagrees...well, exhibit A: Madhu & Co.
His experiences with Madhu will demand that he grow. She's not a "Yes Chief" person. I can't wait 😃
