Future Of Maayka (Why Actors Left?)

ZEE TV's popular drama 'Maayka' has recently had change of production houses over a problem the channel had with the previous producers.

According to reports in Mid-Day, 'Maayka' aired in the UK weeknights at 22:00 will be produced by Dheeraj Kumar's Creative Eye (same producers as 'Ghar Ki Lakshmi...Betiyann') who replace Klassic Films.

The programme also seems to be in trouble as rumours suggest the cast and crew have refused to shoot in a bid to express solidarity with Klassic Films.

The ousted producers, Klassic Films, allege that ever since the series director Rajan Shahi was shown the door they've been victimised by ZEE. Reason?

Rajan is the husband of ZEE's creative head, Pearl Shahi. As a result they had to pay the price and lose out on 'Maayka'.

"We have no clue what is going to happen to 'Maayka'. But the cast is with us," says writer Anjana Sood, creative head, Klassic Films. "The cast has already told the channel that they will not shoot for another production house."

There are also reports saying that the show in India is currently being repeated due to lack of new episodes. Shooting has been on halt since the weekend.

According to ZEE Network's senior vice president, Ashish Kaul, everything is well with 'Maayka' and the new production house is working on the nitty-gritties before starting the shoot.
