Maayka team visits Punjab
Zee's Maayka is set against a Punjabi backdrop, so it was not surprising when the channel took the stars of the serial on a promotional tour to Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. Sudhir Pandey and Nandita Puri who play the protagonist's parents in the serial were overwhelmed by the response they received. "It was amazing that whoever we met was watching the serial," says Nandita a little taken aback by the overwhelming reception. When they went shopping to Amritsar Market, the public mobbed them and one shopkeeper even gifted a shawl to Nandita. "I had bought some phulkari duppattas from him and then I realised that I had forgotten my shawl. Since I was feeling cold I asked whether he stocked shawls? The man said that he would gift it to me because he loved the serial and the values it projected," smiles Nandita.

At the Golden Temple, people were stopping them at every step and getting themselves clicked with the actors. At Wagha border a group of young people was dancing and they dragged Sudhir and Nandita to dance along with them. The duo also visited the Prayas NGO in Jalandhar where they spent time with the mentally challenged kids..
