Guys, puneet does not deserve slaps or whatever, and here is why I think that.
In the first episode, what Puneet did was bad. It showed him in bad light for showing fingers like that. BUT - he did it in a different spirit, trying to playfully show attitude and drama. Everyone pointed out it was wrong, including Shabana Azmi and Mahesh. So did Twinkle. He said sorry. Matter over hona chahiye tha wahan pe.
BUT what did we see after that? Really poor behaviour from the following:
Mihika -- she was questioning the judges' scores (even though they gave full justification - a judge is a judge for a reason, and a contestant should NOT question them like that. Simple - rules se rehna hai bhai aur judges ko challenge nahin kar sakte, it simply looks childish).
Panchi -- saying they did nautanki.
Chetan -- suddenly getting an issue with what Puneet said in his video (they were all saying attitude-y stuff in the thing, it wasn't meant to be disrespectful - puneet only said "uncles and aunties" not anything offensive) AFTER he got mediocre marks from judges.
The previous epi when Puneet actually did something wrong, Chetan did not react like this! So it looks bad na? That's why Mahesh said "if you get marks to khush if you don't, then you start complaining." Guys I like Chetan as an actor, he is great, but I have to agree 100% with Mahesh here.
Even though in the second episode Panchi and Mihika had good performances, they LOOKED BAD for complaining about Puneet.
Mihika did not agree with judges. So? I mean, tough luck, she can't challenge them. But then, it's not completely her fault either because Salil specifically asked her and gave her the mic - so what does that mean? In logon ko drama mangta!
The entire show is constructed in such a way as to overdo such drama. During the video intros, I bet they ASK contestants to say something attitude-bhara to others. They give the mic to contestants when they even shake their head, to ask their opinion, basically begging them to say something dramatic or controversial.
So instead of arguing amongst OURSELVES about who is right and who is wrong, I am just saying that we should think about the format of the show itself!
A lot of people were wrong! Whereas Puneet's initial mistake can be forgiven (he said he was hyper, it was part of the show for them to come and give attitude), it looks REALLY bad for established actors like Chetan to act like sour grapes. Accha nahin lagta, which was Twinkle's point.
So everything Twinkle said was on the mark - first she called out Puneet for his mistake., then in yesterday's epi she also told Chetan that because they are seniors, they should teach the newcomers.
