Having worked in a production company that included programming for some reality shows, I can, without any doubt, say that Panchi was definitely set-up by the production team and the fight that followed between Chetan and Puneet was a bonus that made the headlines and they hit the holy grail of sky-high TRP's. I have watched the videos quite a number of times. A lot of cut and pasting happens in the editing process of these programmes. Events and expressions on peoples faces are cut and pasted into another scene to make the overall look of that particular scene more negative or positive or dramatic depending on what the production team are looking to show to their tv audience. Hence most of these shows are never shown live.
Pia's comment after Twinkle & Puneet's performace was "The rest of our jodi's were not very happy about your pair getting all 10's in your last weeks performance. So…Let us see some glimpses of their unhappiness".
They showed a small part of their prior weeks' performance and the judges giving them the full 10 points. Then clips were shown where various jodis made comments on Twinkle & Puneet's marks.
Panchi sais "I think that these days, those people who can do a lot more nautanki are more popular with people." (I think that….Aaj Kaal, Jo log jayada natuanki kar sakte hai…. Un logo ko log bahaut pasand karte hai)
Twinkle: I just wanted to say something, Salil. First of all….Wait a minute (to Puneet). The term used Nautanki and all that….I do not liked it……I don't have that kind of a background to use all such words as nautanki. Because all of us here are doing nautanki's. All of us on screen are doing nautankis. When we take glycerine…we are doing nautanki. So everybody here cannot say….I was doing nautanki…everybody… all the actors….will not deny the fact that we all are doing nautanki and for that we are getting paid….and because of that we all are here.
Panchi: They asked me about PUNEET, and I felt that he is very fake.
Twinkle: Has nothing to say…..starts chewing her gum .
Panchi: In that first episode…I do not like this kind of attitude. That is why…I said that about him….NOT TO YOU!!!!
Twinkle: Still chewing gum "We are a jodi now".
This shows clearly that Panchi was answering a question asked to her about Puneet and his behaviour and not a question about their marks. The producers and editors cut and pasted Panchi's answer regarding Puneet's behaviour to a question of Twinkle & Puneet's marks. The producers and editors of the show manipulated her reply about Puneet. Her answer about Puneet had nothing to do with how everyone felt about Twinkle & Puneet's marks.
And there was no need for Twinkle to bring a person's background into the situation. Pointing fingers at someones background speaks a lot about your own background.
