Kavita Shyam A still from Love Story Anurag Basu's Love Story on Sab TV will go off air from December, although it was supposed to do so after April next year. The obvious reason for the channel's abrupt decision seems to be the low TRPs of the show, but there is an underlying reason as well. The channel is introducing programmes with more youth-oriented content and Love Story does not fit the bill. The producers and the cast of the show are extremely dejected with the decision. Love Story is about relationships at various stages of life and has veteran actors like Harsh Chhaya and Rupa Ganguly in it. Says Anurag, "The channel wants the show to go off air by December. It was supposed to go on for at least a year but things did not work out. This is my only show which didn't work on television. I'm surprised why it didn't work. I suppose it did not go down well with the sensibilities of the home audience." He adds, "A lot of effort went into making the show. The channel felt that TRPs were low and they are also planning to change the programming content. All my actors are very upset." Anurag Basu "I will continue making television shows along with films. I am very greedy about my creative pursuits and want to cater to all kinds of audiences. With Love Story I was trying to have the show in a less popular channel but failed in my attempt. I was also competing with other primetime channels where the target audience is young. However, I am proud of my show and have got a good feedback for it," he says. Says Uditanshu Mehta, programming head of Sab TV, "We are yet to take a call on the show. Once we decide, we will inform everybody. We like to try out different things and want to concentrate on more youth-oriented shows now."

i don't get SAB, how much more youth oriented can they get, LS is for youth, some one should tell this what's hi name 😡 Uditanshu Mehta 😡 😡 😡 to come & vist the forum & see the madness for LS.

i guess there's still hope for LS fans, s they haven't taken the descion yet to cancel so plz LS fans start posting on SAB's forums & if anyopne get this human's email id Uditanshu Mehta 😡 , i would love to share my thoughts with him

man.. i dont get this.. why the heck ppl keep on saying that LS doesnt have the highest TRP..?? c'mon ppl.. u blind or wht... dont u ppl check this IF ..?? its soo popular.. everything about this serial is so unique and damn interesting.... the actors, songs.. juss awesome...i guess they are simply jealous of its success.. thats y wanna make it off air.. but if they did.. i'm sure.. no one will watch SAB TV.... coz its popular only coz of LS and LRL.. so yeah.. half of the audience will not watch it than...

Anurag will make more serials.. as he said.. so i guess.. he will take Mishal again.. awww.. will love to see him..! 😳

Yea theres still hope....

The only reason could be SabTv not being that popular.. Guess SabTv didnt deserve LS. How can u expect great TRP's when u dont promote ur shows???? 😡 😡 😡 .. Except LRL I dont think any other show on Sabtv ran more than 1 year.

Crap. Pure crap. I don't get these ppl, what do they want, youth-oriented-shows-turned-saas-bahu dramas? Honestly! LS is amazing in so many ways! The acting is amazing and natural, the theme is sweet and realistic, the music is used wonderfully...LS is one show that doesn't show histrionics and ridiculous complexities! Not to mention that it IS youth-orientated! What is this Uditanshu guy, senseless???

It's not that Love gone wrong but SAB TV is going wrong,now they want youth-orientated program on there channel then what type of show is LOVESTORY isnt it a youth-orientated what else they want,Everything about lovestory is so unique actors,songs,story.........,they talk about youth-orientated show and when they have it they dont value it,and yes sab tv they never promote lovestory in proper way,LS is such a good show but disss SAB tv does't deserve this show 😡

I agree guys.. SABTV is not as popular as others such as Zee or Star Plus.. maybe Anuragji should go to them and give them LS!!

what is this talk about LS not being as popular.. i thought that the show was doing very well in India.. and why dont they take the TPRs outside India as well!!

I just hope that if SABTV is going to end it.. then Sony should take the initiative to get it back on air.
