Finally I'm starting to feel Love Ka Intezaar is developing a sense of thematic purpose! When Ayaan repeatedly said "I trust you" I felt like something actually clicked in place with this show.

There's Kamini the superstar who trusted the royal man she fell madly in love with. Then she found out he was a married man and was distraught but he asked her to trust him - his marriage was a compromise and he will break it off... and she did. She said she trusted him above all and took him at his word. She continually affirmed to her parents that she trusted him, god, the universe. In fact she trusted her time and said she knew nothing can go wrong - that her dream life was about to begin.

Madhav's mother had once advised him to trust that having a child will make his and Vijaylakshmi's relationship ok - they would find the fulfilment he felt they lacked. However despite Madhavi coming into the world Madhav and Vijaylakshmi's relationship never transpired into anything substantial.

As per his promise, Madhav told his mother and wife about his and Kamini's relationship, reasoning with them that living incomplete, unhappy lives was helping no one. Both his mother and Vijaylakshmi in their own way agreed to the parting, and Madhav trusted that finally everything in his personal life was going to work out just fine. Finally he could move from a relationship of compromise to one where he felt emotionally fulfilled.

Vijaylakshmi and her father had motives of their own. Vijaylaskhmi had no love for Madhav or Madhavi. She had trusted that marriage into a royal house would help her achieve her political ambitions but that had not happened yet...Ending the marriage before achieving what she wanted was out of the question! However she didn't want to lose Madhav's trust so she pretended to be disappointed about their marriage breaking but amenable to a divorce for his sake while her father took on the "bad cop" angle. Between them, Viju and Rana (with Rana as frontman and Viju secretively behind-the-scenes) played with Madhav & his mom's trust, including ousting loyal retainers of the house who knew their truth, getting Kamini involved into all sorts of legal trouble, and placing Madhav in the dilemma of choosing between his daughter and future wife!

Kamini's trust in Madhav first shattered when he failed to turn up at their secret wedding, citing that he chose his political career over her. And then again when she was in interrogation over income tax issues and mafia links and her distraught parents called Madhav for help and he put up a rude front (though he was furiously working behind the scenes on ensuring Rana held up his end of the bargain in freeing Kamini). Her trust in god, the universe, and people, especially men, broke too - for her bright and promising career took a turn for the worse when she refused to let various media men bully her into admitting to wrongdoings she hadn't committed. She wasn't gonna leave the country just because the trial-by-media through some photoshopped images had declared her unpatriotic.

Mohini now lives her life with a "sister" who mistrusts everyone and tries to mother her constantly. She doesn't understand why, and she chaffes at the negativity and control. She's young, and optimistic, and trusts people (e.g. not even asking Ayaan for proof-of-identity), just like Kamini used to. But how will she react when she realises that what she trusts she knows about herself and her life is built on a lie? However, I liked that Mohini is shrewd enough to see through lies - she may trust the vibe of a person, but she knows how to put two and two together.

Ayaan, like Mohini, displays a level of trust that can only be termed naive. Handing over a huge wad of cash before any paperwork has come through speaks of worldly inexperience. However, at the same time he can read situations and lie easily as per requirement - he perhaps doesn't see it as a big deal, more like a practical necessity to avoid drama. These white lies may be what trip him up with Kamini in the future, for she has had enough of lying men to last a lifetime.

Both Mohini and Ayaan feel the other is trustworthy right now. Will this sense of trust prevail when it comes up against calculative personalities and the cold harsh complications of the real world?

@whispa - thanks :)
Actually I just got over-excited that I could finally make head or tail of this show. I have been following it but really couldn't see what point it was trying to make till now. Maybe that's the angle they were going for all along but I was too dense to understand till the dialogues literally spelt it out repeatedly in the recent episode 😆

Thanks Nestle! Sorry for the late reply. Yeah really enjoying the texture of Kamini and Mohini's relationship. And it contrasts so nicely with Ayaan and Mohini's dynamic - young, optimistic, flirty...

Thank you Ara!
I'm liking the light-hearted "hide and seek" scenes in the house right now but even as I enjoy them I feel terrible for Kamini. She will feel so heartbroken that even her own family broke her trust and colluded together secretively to get around her. </3

And Mohini too will eventually feel betrayed that Amma and Kamini didn't trust her with the truth, when she finds out about her parentage.

Gosh, can see it all coming...

What a well written post. I have never watched this show so the briefing was very helpful.I happened to watch a few scenes of Ayan and Mohini few days back and felt some naive and innocent chemistry b/w the two. They seem to be very vibrant, positive and lovable people.Your post has intrigued me enough to try the show properly once i get time. T.y !

Glad I could help OnepoundChick :)

And totally agreed on how refreshingly endearing Ayaan and Mohini are. No hangups and ego-clashes - just this exuberance to be who they are, connect with people they like, do what they dream of, and live life 😊

I like how Mohini is more of a 'your routine girl' than Ayan a guy who struggles while eating a bhutta properly 😆 <3 Showcases their backgrounds.
Of course the show has to get serious and complex with the revelations of untold truths but i would appreciate it if they don't turn it in to a too intense and high voltage mess..Story will proceed nicely if they keep the unfolding of characters and plot in a simple manner just as the smooth chemistry of Ayan and Mohini.
