Driving Drunk, Can you save or end a friendship?

😕 Last night was the scariest experience of my life. I took my best friend of 15 years to a concert in Los Angeles. He told me that he would drink, but not to the extent I witnessed. He had a prior DUI and I thought he knew better. He put his credit card with the bartender and had 4 or 5 to drink. Then, he was incoherent and acting crazy in front of other people. I had to drive him home and wasn't back until 2am at night. It is sad to see my friend like this, but I need to break off my friendship. I can't save him and don't want the responsibility. He needs to have his family intervene. It is a big responsibility to drive drunk. Can you save or end a friendship because of driving drunk? Because this experience has opened up my eyes, I would like to see what your thoughts were. 😭
