I am an out of work actor: Rajesh - Artic

Doing things with a zara hatke flavour has always been Rajesh Khera's forte. Playing the role of the gay fashion designer Maddy in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin was just one of the things the 39-year-old actor did to challenge himself with.


But mention the word challenge and the actor cannot stop gushing about his recently discovered love for all things adventurous!

"I seem to have become an adventure junkie overnight and I simply love it!" says Rajesh, who likes nothing better than to leave the humdrum of city life and take to the hills on trips that push him to his limits. "It all started with this travel-based reality show that I had participated in called Paisa Bhari Padega where I came in second. I enjoyed the outdoors so much that after the show there has been no looking back for me."

After the show Rajesh also went on to participate in an adventure rally to Uttaranchal that included activities like on and off road rallying and navigation, bridge slithering, trekking and whitewater rafting.

"That too was so much fun that I made a pact with myself that I would do more such things as often as I could," says Rajesh, who is just back from another adventure trip to... guess where? Uttaranchal again! "This time I went to the Pindari Glacier that is near Rishikesh in the Kumaon Himalayas with a couple of friends and boy, what a trip we had. Our car nearly skidded down a ravine due to a landslide and we all thought that bas, this was it for us! But evidentally, I've lived to tell the tale. It is things like this that make life so worth living and experiencing."

But does he get the time to indulge himself in such 'pleasure trips' every now and then? "See, as of now I am an out of work actor without any shows on TV," he laughs. "My part on Left Right Left is over and done with and I am in talks for other things, but nothing is concrete as of now. Let's see about tomorrow. I often feel like a misfit in this industry. But what to do, acting is all I know. Although, I would love to host a travel cum adventure show one day."
